Focus the Search field in Preferences (introduced in Beta 29.7.0.60) when the dialog gets opened, and focus the found and highlighted option
Search in Preferences, originally requested here (http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/42476344) is a welcome feature! However, it works not as it should be, as shown in the GIF attached.
- The field should get immediately focused instead of Keyboard Increment field, so we can start searching right away after calling the dialog with Cmd/Ctrk+K
- When it finds an option that can be toggled (a checkmark) or focused (a field) — it should focus it, so we can toggle it with s Space or type a new value This makes the whole experience mouse-free for those who are in a hurry (and we are). It doesn’t take away from anybody else, with a pen or a mouse, it just makes it more accessible...

This change broke the existing method to quickly access the Keyboard Increment value, reported here. The team decided to revert this change until a better solution is found. Please watch this space for further news.

MUST REVERT BACK TO KEYBOARD INCREMENTS!!!!
Illustrator 29.7.1: (cmd+k) Preferences defaulting to new Search Window and not Keyboard Increments... -

I appreciate the help Rene. If they choose not to change it back, reprogramming decades of muscle memory to change the keyboard increment the fastest way possible is going to be tough.

Scott, addressing your concern: You could also use the Properties Panel for changing the keyboard increments. That is, if you have the Properties Panel open. But I understand what you mean. Even with the properties Panel open, I think it is a wee bit faster to call the Preferences and change the already preselected value.

Is there a downvote button?
I absolutely need the initial focus to be on the keyboard increment as I'm constantly switching keyboard increments to different fractions of inches or mm. I set up all of the other preferences on a fresh install and very rarely have to think of them again.

Please set back the keyboard increment to auto selection when using CMD+K. I'm losing a crazy amount of productivity time.
It's a tool that graphic designers use hundreds of times a day. -

Is there a way to change the focus back to the keyboard increments? I use the keyboard increments constantly whilst working in illustrator. This new update makes changing the increments a lot more difficult. Unless I'm missing another way to change this??
