Add Search in Preferences
Incorporate a Search function to provide the user the ability to quickly locate a specific preference (refer to Apple's System Preferences Search capability.)
Please also make Preferences user-friendly — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/42476344

Beta 29.7.0.60 introduces Search field in Preferences.
Now we can jump to the found option quickly by typing a name or a part of it.
Please try to update and test if it suits you (be careful though, this build also introduces many WIP change to the snapping system!) — and comment back if you have important notes.

The idea to include "Search Preferences" its ok, but not when you press command+k, cause we need press command+k and immediatly type keyboard increment, not type "search preference, if you what to "search preferences" try to add some button or something like that, its critical!! You are resting us production time, come on guys...

Egor, let the team know the default cursor should still be on keyboard increment when preferences are loaded and not the search feature itself. That is so secondary compared to a more important feature like increment changes. You can no longer quickly change keyboard increments by simply hitting CMD-K or Ctrl-K.

While the Search field is now focused by default (requested here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/50114175), this is reported to be not a desired behavior for those who liked the Keyboard Increment field being focused: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/939477/suggestions/50255313
If you have any comments to add, please do, it means a lot to the team.

2. Command Palette / Panel / Bar: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/36568675
Kyle, would you mind me merging your request with the #1? -

Mature Adobe apps have countless settings and actions that can be hard to find in the menus and Preferences dialog.
Please consider taking a look at how JetBrains has solved for this problem. In JetBrains IDEs, you can start typing when any preference window is open to jump to the setting you need. It's really intuitive and powerful.
They also have a powerful command menu CMD-P where you can type to open any file in the project, or to find any action that you want to run. It's much more efficient then digging through a menu or clicking many tabs in preferences.
It would also be great if you could look at how they handle re-mapping keyboard shortcuts. Along with being able to type to find the shortcut in question, you can also click a button to identify where a keyboard shortcut is mapped to (Click button, type CMD-S, it jumps to the Save... setting where you can remap this to another key combo). And, of course, they let you type the name of the setting to jump to the place to remap it.

And please make the type larger. So hard to read. Takes so much time to painstakingly go through the preferences.
