Vectors rendered too thick on screen
Since the update to 22.1, all vector lines are being rendered too thickly on screen. Compare any lines drawn in AI with how they appear when printed out - they are inaccurately rendered on screen. Illustrator is a vector application, it cannot be displaying vectors with such poor quality on screen.

GPU preview = poor quality in 22.1
Image quality is poor with GPU performance activated in 22.1: lines appear too thick, anchor points are left on screen when they should have cleared, random artifacts appear on screen for no apparent reason. Solution is either deactivated GPU performance (not acceptable) or toggling to CPU preview on every document every single time the document is opened (also not acceptable). Please work on a fix for this before releasing 22.1 to the public.

Scroll zoom not working
When I zoom in using alt + scroll down, the canvas jitters; it zooms out then in.

Scrubby Zoom - GPU View greyed out
I'm unable to toggle GPU Preview.
This is a new concern since I was able to toggle it on/off a few weeks ago.

Blend in CMYK color mode and GPU preview = MOIRE
In CMYK mode the blend option looks really terrible with GPU preview. With these settings the Blend hets a jaggy moire effect.
Tested in different color modes with CPU and GPU preview. Only CMYK on GPU produces this nasty screen effect, see screenshots. I work mostyl in CMYK mode so I hope this can be fixed rapidly.
macOS 14.1.1 / Adobe Illustator 2024 v28.0

Blend snaps back when you move an object
When you move one of the objects after having created a blend, the new position doesn't stay. Instead the blend snaps back and the outline of the object stays in the new position. Described in this thread with videos:

Pink screen and residual image artifacts
The pink screen flash is back for me in 26.03 when opening files, but now I have the added bonus of image shrapnel being left everywhere (image attached).
Mac mini M1. Happens with both MacOS 12.1 and 12.2 beta (release candidate).

pixel preview doesn't refresh correctly until reapplied.
Steps to reproduce:
- New document with units set to pixels
- view: 'snap to pixel' and 'pixel preview' turned on.
- Use the rectangle tool to make a new shape, eg. 20 pixels square.
- Set the fill colour to a high contrast colour (eg. dark grey) and turn off the stroke
- zoom the view, move around.Expected result:
- the rectangle should appear pixel-perfect (sharp) against the pixel grid, with no anti-aliased bluring
- the view should acurately update when I zoom and move around to display pixel perfect artworkActual result:
- the rectangle is bordered…4 votes -
Path render error
See screenshot. All I did was add opacity to a path and it renders it like this. Happens all the time since I updated.

Artwork disappears when zoomed in
Whenever I am zooming in (2400% +), my artwork disappears and the who canvas turns gray. If I mouse over my artwork, i'll see a very pixelated outline of my artwork. I've attached a screenshot of my issue. I've tried restarting my MBP, uninstalling and reinstalling AI. I've tried closing out AI and reopening– but nothing I am doing is fixing this issue. Please help, I need to continue working on client projects.

Illustrator Background Flickering
Hey all.... I'm getting a very annoying flickering background in illustrator CC 25.2.3 as I roll the cursor around.
It stops when I turn off GPU performance but I'd ideally like to have the best performing Ai as possible...other wise what's the point ey?
MBP spec:
10.15.7
MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019)
2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9
64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB
Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MBVery Annoying as this MBP is brand new
Anyone had the same thing?

GPU preview replaced by CPU permanently
Mojave 10.14.6 / Ill version 25.2.1 / GPU Performance Activated / AMD Radeon Pro 570X
The ai file opens in CPU preview and cannot return to GPU. Colours seem altered, very vivid. That happens to all files with linked images! I worked as ususal, can't remember if any update run.
I have downgraded Illustrator to 25.2, & Photoshop to 22.2 and problem was not fixed.4 votes -
AI loses GPU support when using rulers or accessing grouped elements
Hello @ Adobe!
Both of my macs (Big Sur, latest updates) show the same reproducible bug with Adobe Ai Version 25 (incl. 25.2): GPU support works just fine when I open a new document and start from scratch. Turning on Rulers or accessing grouped elements by double click instantly turns off GPU support wich I cannot turn back on. After that Ai responds slowly and overall it’s no pleasure to work with. To fix this I need to make sure that in a document all rulers and guides are switched off/deleted. With these measures I can reopen the document and…4 votes -
New Illustrator 2020 laggy and slow on the simplest of tasks
Illustrator 2020 is really laggy and slow, only when completing simple tasks like colour picking, moving art-boards, selecting different objects, or even just wanting to zoom in or out.
4 votesGeneral slowness on using Illustrator on Mac is one of the major issues reported in this thread. Illustrator team made significant progress in replacing Illustrator’s GPU rendering engine from OpenGL to macOS Native Metal Rendering Engine – https://developer.apple.com/metal/.
We have observed common operations like Zoom, Pan, and rendering operations are now smoother in cases where it was sluggish as reported in this thread. We urge Mac users to try the Illustrator Beta build with Metal support and share your feedback.
Please note, this may not address other performance issues reported in this thread not related to rendering like File Save, Export, or slowness in any particular feature. This build is available in Illustrator Prerelease Download Section – https://www.adobeprerelease.com/beta/85A6F544-2705-49BD-8314-DD549C6A1713

multi-GPU setups cause Illustrator to glitch out and become unresponsive
I've got a two-GPU computer. If I'm using GPU preview mode, after working for a while (around 20-30 mins or more), the entire Illustrator UI will glitch out and become very artifact-y and unresponsive, and I can no longer work on the files I've got open, necessitating a restart of the app.
This started happening right after I upgraded from one GPU to two, about a year ago. It happens only in GPU preview mode, not CPU. I've tried updating GPU drivers, updating Illustrator itself--nothing fixes the problem. I've seen other people online with multi-GPU setups say the same thing…
