Symbol not following the artwork to move when moving, after update
I’m writing to report a bug I’ve encountered in Adobe Illustrator since updating to version 29.7.
When working on CAD artwork that includes symbols, I’ve noticed that when I try to move a symbol, the symbol artwork doesn't follow the intended movement. Instead, it either stays in place or shifts to an unexpected position. This issue did not occur in previous versions and is significantly affecting my workflow.
Could you please look into this and advise if there is a fix or workaround available? I’d be happy to provide a sample file or screen recording if needed.
Thank you for your support.
Fix available in prerelease build now - version 29.8
To be rolled out in general build soon.

A similar problem with moving a part of a blend array: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/50337453

noted, thanks for your help x
I will go back to 29.5 version to work -
Happens in 29.7.1 as well as in Beta

I’ll try to bring more attention to it. Recent bugs usually have better chances to be fixed soon.
If the bugfix happens, it’d most probably land in Beta first. I’ll update the status of the report when it happens.
For now, I’m afraid, the only solution would be to downgrade — I can’t tell how far though. -

ok thanks for reporting, will this fix at the backend? or need to wait for the new update??

I confirm it.
I distilled this problem to a single observation. If a group with symbols has a path with a blending mode other than normal, this bug happens. This feels very much like a bug with Blends I’m going to report.

Kristy, please share a test file with this symbol included (nothing else is required in it).
