Separations Preview should show colour values
The Separations Preview panel doesn't show the colour values of each colour channel at the cursor location. This makes checking the total values of overprinted spot colours or taking colour-value readings from inside gradients impossible. As such, it's only half useful. If it works in InDesign, the expectation is that it works in Illustrator.

Merge Swatches Shortcut Key
Can we get a shortcut key or be able to create a keyboard shortcut for Merge Swatches in the Swatches Panel?

simplify color picker
Instead of the fill/stroke toggle, split each swatch diagonally. Top left is stroke, bottom right is fill. One click instead of (so frequently) two, and no more unintentionally filling when you meant to stroke..

Please make New Swatch available all the time
Sometimes, I have a complex selection of unpainted paths, and then I need to create a color swatch to apply. But unfortunately 'New Swatch' is greyed out. Why? Why isn't it always available?

Color swatch import bug
To illustrate the bug - I have a file named logo and a file named base. Both have swatches named PRIMARY and SECONDARY (see attached). As I place the logo into the base file - even as a preview - the PLACED file adopts the swatch colors of the base file. I literally need to do the opposite. I need the base file to adopt the swatches of the placed file. Needs to have an option to REPLACE swatches.

Dual Colour Values for Each Colour Swatch for CMYK and RGB Modes
I use brand colours that have specific colour values in CMYK and RGB. When I create a design in RGB and then have to convert it to CMYK for print I have to import the CMYK swatches after changing the document colour mode to CMYK and then globally replace all the colours. I would like it if when you define a swatch you can have an option to give it an RGB value for RGB mode and a CMYK value for CMYK mode. Then you could switch between colour modes without having to deal with new swatches and colour replacement.…

Spot Colors Change the name to JPG
It would be nice if you could change the spot color names in inserted images (JPG, PNG...) without going through Photoshop.

A tint percentage slider in swatch options (like InDesign)
If a tint of a global colour has been added to the swatches the percentage cannot be adjusted. If you double click on the tint it brings up the swatch options panel for the colour the tint is based on, but there is no option to change the tint strength.
Can it be the same as InDesign - when you double click on the tint there is a tint slider available in the swatch options panel?

show swatch folders in recolor artwork panel
In the recolor artwork panel when you double click the color on the right to determine what the color is being changed to, you can choose from swatches by then clicking on swatches. But, it's just a list of all of the swatches with no indication of which swatch folder the swatches are in. This makes recoloring difficult at times

Apply colour mode to different artboards
It would be great to have a feature where we can change colour modes for different artboards. This is extremely helpful in today's digital world, where we are working on Brand Identity design that involves the use of logo and colour palette extensively in print and digital media. This will help keep one master file for an extensive brand identity work and makes it easy to compare between CMYK and RGB colours/designs.

Image Trace Default black and white preset is grayscale after expanding
When you Image Trace, using the default black and white tracing preset and expand - the black and white are grayscale. When you double click the fill in the toolbar to choose a new color for the black or white, the resulting color is a shade of gray. Then, you have to go to the Color panel and change the sliders to a different color model to be able to see the color you chose. It would be easier if the black and white were aligned with the document color mode, RGB or CMYK instead. You don't encounter this issue…

Make Global Swatches Retain Color Name When Added to a CC Library
It's important to clearly label color palette swatches for hand-off. It's especially important for CMYK production files. At present, a user would need to name the swatch twice. Once in the document swatch library and a second time when the swatch is added to a CC Library. An additional concern is that by default the CC Library saves the color as a HEX value even if the open document is in CMYK color mode.

Set all colour palette swatches to Global as default
Could we have all default swatches and custom colour swatches we select set as 'Global' when are working in a document? Or at least be able to select multiple swatches all at once and make Global? Why is the default 'non-Global' when colours are likely to be used regularly across multiple working files?

Recolor Artwork: Click the Artwork to Select color to recolor
It is often hard to pick the right color to edit from the Recoror Artwork UI. This especially when Editing colors that are close to each other.
It would be nice if we could click ( or ctrl/shift/alt+click) the artwork and select which color we want to edit in Recolor Artwork utility.

Drag-and-Drop Swatches to Artboard
This functionality wouldn't change the swatches palette it, but would allow users to drag a swatch to the artboard and drop it. You could tile several to create a tonal family or brand color set.
Being able to scale them larger, arrange them, reformat the grid, turn the white gap off in between colors would improve color adjustment and comparing hues side by side. They'd function like the existing swatches panel in that you could have a shape or stroke selected and apply the color by clicking the swatch on the artboard.
This would help in color exploration and creating…

Batch Import Swatches
How about the ability to batch import swatches or gradients using csv or xml files? It would make it significantly easier to import colours from sources like ColorBrewer or matplotlib.

Recolor Artwork: Use Eyedropper to pick colors from Artwork
It would be nice if we could pick colors from artwork to to the Recolor Artwork with Eyedropper. Now if I want to match a color to an some existing color in canvas, I have to close the Recolor Artwork window, use the Eyedropper and then restart Recolor Artwork.
It would be great if we could just pick color from canvas while keeping Recolor Artwork open.

Recolor Artwork: Make the color wheel bigger !
It would be good if the size of Colorwheel in Recolor Artwork could be resized, made bigger.
Now if the colors are close to each other, it is impossible to select them in basic mode.
Also, adjusting colors isn't very accurate as the wheel is so small. Sure you can open the color setting by double clicking, but it would be so much easier to just have bigger color wheel.

Option to replace RGB sliders with HSB everywhere - all swatches and all color pickers.
We need ability to universally use HSB instead of RBG. I want the ability to fully replace RGB input and sliders with HSB everywhere in AI. I never want to look at RGB sliders ever again.
This request is all over the forum in different phrasings/forms but unfortunately that has divided the votes leading to lower ranking. Here is the same request with 87 votes oddly worded as "Illustrator forgets which color mode is set in the Color palette (and Gradient)"

CMYK Support for svgs - make use from the device-CMYK attribute
When opening an .svg File that got several device-cmyk Params set, i would love to choose (e.g. by popup) which colors i would like to use for the svg - the rgb colors set as a fill or the device-cmyk colors. It would make svgs printable
e.g. <circle fill="#CD853F device-cmyk(0.11, 0.48, 0.83, 0.00)"/>
