Add Scale to SVG and PDF Export for Screens My biggest pain point in production for mobile right now is the inability to scale vector assets in Export for Screens. X-code prefers PDF assets be imported at 1x size. Android Studio prefers that SVG assets be smaller than 200x200 px. When I have large templates of icons or other assets that need to be sized differently for different purposes, it is crippling to have to resize these.
For example, I have a set of icons that are used for a glyph font. These are all sized at a scale of 1000pt high. In order for me to export this…

Export shortcut for PNG, JPEG etc It would be great to have either a keyboard shortcut for exporting as a PNG, JPEG etc or even a toolbar shortcut.

Export to PNG, customized settings do not save We create web posting formats of figures in Illustrator and my customized settings do not save. Why do we have the option of Save Settings....when they do not save?
File > Export > Save for Web (Legacy) > Name > Custom setting named and save.
The Custom setting retains one of the defaults, in my case PNG-24, but does not retain any numerical measurements that IO enter beneath it.
We save many files with the same specs for our web posts. Why do I have a custom option to Save Settings when they only save a default. What's the point?…

Open a PDF with option to outline text Sometimes if you don't have a font, a pdf opened in Illustrator will result in boxes with "x"s in them in place of all the fonts. I know how to go into Adobe Acrobat and fix this. But.... Would be nice if Illustrator had a dialogue box when opening a PDF that gave the option to outline all text open opening.

Artboard preview in Save dialog In the theme of "recognition over recall," it would be great if the Save dialog allowed you to preview artboards the way the Print dialog does. When I'm working fast I don't always remember to stop and jot down the numbers of the specific artboards I need to export, and it's annoying to have to exit the save dialog, find the numbers, go back to the save dialog, repeat any necessary steps such as setting file name and location, THEN enter my desired artboard number(s) before moving forward. Having the artboard preview as part of the save window would cut…

Consistency in PDF saving To get to PDF in .ai it's file > save as but in .indd it's file > export
Can we get a shortcut to PDF that is consistent on both .ai and .indd? I frequently switch between both apps and need to export as PDF. The different processes to get to a final PDF slows my workflow.

Automatic "Generate assets" option like in Photoshop Photoshop's "Generate assets" workflow is a godsend, and it would be just as amazing to have something similar in Illustrator.
Adding an extension to the name of an artboard or layer (.png, .jpg, etc) and have it automatically export would be incredible, especially when working with a dozen artboards that need to be exported every time there's an amend (for icon libraries, banners, etc).

Remember scaling per file in Save for web I design for printing and use 'Save for web and devices' to have crisp images.
E.g. I can have document 300x900mm, and then I export it as 600x1800px and have my snapped sharp lines to stay sharp.
But 'SfWaD' always immediately renders image at '100%' (which is not 100% at all at Windows — it's an another problem to be discussed), and I get 850x2551.
When my dimensions are bigger, AI sometimes can't even render an image and I get error message and pink fill in preview area.
I try to draw ten times smaller whenever is possible to avoid…7 votes -
raster image scale by resolution tool/command I'd like a tool which allows us to scale raster images (linked or embedded) relative to the artboard raster effect settings. eg. you'd tell it 72 dpi, 150dpi, 300dpi, 355dpi etc. and the image would re-scale to the correct relative size against the artboard.
At the moment raster images brought into Illustrator always seem to appear at 72pdi, and are scaled too large relative to an artboard with 300dpi raster efects. This is a problem which needs fixing.

Appending number after SVG export After exporting SVG files there is a version number added to the file name... can you make this optional... It adds a bunch of unnecessary steps to my work flow as I have to then navigate to the file and rename it every time I export...

LessTime saving files Hello,
as designers we come across slow process saving in a heavy illustrated files (too many vectors) when these vectors are shifted a bit or edit a text, the file needs to be saved again and it wastes a lot of time.
The solution here is using the smart technology (adobe sensei) which it will compare the files and saves accordingly -to check if the text has any amendments, and accordingly takes action in the saving process from within- and this tech to be applied on other elements.

Export Symbols There should be a way to export symbols as png. svg. jpg. etc. In a similar way as the Asset export. Ideally using the name of the symbol.

Add a CLOSE ALL menu command Adding a CLOSE ALL menu command, to mirror the one in Photoshop, would be very useful - complete with the "apply to all" check box which Photoshop offers. That way, I can easily close and save 5/10/15/20 open documents with two clicks.

Export to resolutions below 72 DPI Currently export to raster formats seem to have a 72 DPI minimum. For making thumbnail versions of art, it would be great to be able to export to lower resolutions. It is a drag to have to use Photoshop to do a job that it seems like Illustrator could easily do by itself.

Hi,
You can use File > Export > Export for Screens or Window > Asset Export. It allows you to export till 0.5x scale which is 36DPI. Also, this allows you enter height or width by which you can even go below 36DPI as honors what ever size you mention. I hope this helps you.
Thanks & Regards

Auto-trace PSDs separately by group/layer Transfer/convert Photoshop documents via auto-trace to illustrator vector shapes while retaining general group/layer hierarchy. Any shape layers in PSD should be converted to Illustrator shapes.
Example: Sketch a new puppet for Character Animator in Photoshop, open the PSD in Illustrator, use auto-trace to convert each layer separately, maintaining relative group/layer hierarchy. Clean up vector paths, use Illustrator puppet in Character Animator at any scale.

Allow Security Settings to be saved as Adobe PDF Preset Allow Adobe PDF presets to support passwords and security settings. If you select passwords and security settings in the Export Adobe PDF dialog box, and then click Save Preset, the passwords and security settings will be preserved.
