Illustrator doesn't prompt to save changes to paragraph styles if no other changes are made to a document.
1. Create a document, add a paragraph style, save and close.
2. Reopen document, modify the paragraph style, close document.
At the end of step 2, when closing the document, Illustrator should ask if I want to save my changes, but it does not. After modifying the paragraph style, I can also see that the asterisk (*) does not appear next to the filename on the current tab, which normally indicates unsaved changes.2 votes
I was working in Illustrator and accidentally click on Revert and now my works are gone, it would be better if there is a undo button for that.3 votes

Please create a hotkey for the "Export as" function. It would also be nice if I could set AI to always remember my preferred filetype instead of always defaulting to png.3 votes
Asset Export needs more options to automate and/or use variables. Designers often need to export large groups of files (e.g. variations of a logo in multiple colours and sizes, with/without a claim or other element) which then have to be tediously and manually renamed and sorted to reflect things like size, color.
It would be great if there were more option to automate the output by adding variables such as dimensions custom text fields, names of swatches used, etc This could even be an area where the use of AI might be useful to automatically detect the content and create…2 votes
I cannot correctly open the same files that were made a couple of days ago.
When opening, a window appears: the file was made in a NEWER version. Import this file? Part of the data may be lost1 vote
Now when selecting "All" for page range, Illustrator creates a document with default color space, e.g. now CMYK.
It would be nice if PDF importer was a bit smarter and could check and respect original PDF's color space, and set up the document in Illustrator to match.
E.g. when importing an RGB pdf, it would use RGB color space; and CMYK for CMYK.6 votes
I work in metric, and everything works perfectly until I have to export file to the CAD software which uses higher accuracy.
If I have a line of 42 mm, actual dimension is 42.00007 (because the way illustrator stores values in points, and getting rounded in 32bit).
Problem really shows up if I have to scale things 1000-10000 times
Would be amazing if Illustrator had an option to save / export values in 64bits3 votes
Add a way to resize an exported image with Export As method to a specific size, like Save for Web can
In the old "Save for Web" function (please keep it!) it was possible to resize "on the fly" the destination image (EG my file is 8000 px but I can save an exported version of 800 without opening and resizing afterwards)
In the "Export as.." function none of this is possible.1 vote

Attach file to comment. Typically the client add in quick sketches, reference images, new logo files and so on and it would be super helpful if they could attach those files to the comment in review mode to avoid having to still use e-mail or similar services to get quick assets between us and them.
Deeper zoom function: The pdf can only be zoomed in to 100% of the artboard setting, so some details can't be seen. Infinite zoom would be ideal.1 vote
It would be very useful and a huge time-saver to have the option to export multiple artboards with 'Save for web'. Currently you can only do 1 artboard at a time, and if you have a lot of artboards to export then it gets old real fast and takes up valuable time.
Auto-populating the file name would be amazing too. When you do a regular export, it exports the files with what you named each artboard. But when you do 'Save for Web', you have to enter the file name each time.1 vote
Hi, I'm looking for a script that can IMPORT files (AI, PDF, EPS) by inserting these files, or multipage PDFs, onto multiple illustrator tables in a connected way.
Then let me select eg. from table 1 to 5 (of 200) and apply a preset registered in the CONVERT TRANSPARENCY panel.
Can someone help me?1 vote
This issue is very common when you import to html two or more svg files and the last svg overwrites the class of the previous svg inserted, due that uses same name of class.
The solve is able to edit a prefix on export options window, that can edit for each file to set an unique prefix to get e.g.: st0, st1 and foo0, foo1 in each.1 vote
As of now, Version History deletes old versions after 30 days unless it was marked manually, which is fine and makes sense. However, as you open a more-than-30-days-old file that was not marked and you modify it beyond your History limit, there is no way you can revert back to the original file, at least if you have the autosave enabled, which is to be expected.
I therefore suggest to automatically log a version as you open a file that didn't contain any (more than 30 days old...)2 votes
Currently, Illustrator apparently doesn't support all "types" of gradients present in a PDF. When trying to open the attached PDF, an error occurs and the gradient is rasterized.
However, it opens normally in other programs such as Scribus. I thought it was a limitation of the PDF producer (Inkscape), but maybe not. Please, see the discussion: https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inbox/-/issues/9185
Therefore, I ask Adobe to investigate the case and, if it is a limitation of Illustrator, to implement support for this "type" of gradient for better interoperability of the PDF parser.2 votes
make it easier to export things...
1 - add convert text to outlines as a check box when exporting pdfs...
2 - add convert lines to outlines to shapes when exporting svg...
3 - have a check box to expand compound shapes when exporting svg
make it easier to cut copy and paste from figma to illustrator and vice versa.1 vote
