1. Allow us to control the saving of cached copies of raster effects.

   I use a lot of raster effects in my work. A lot. I can easily have several thousand paths with effects on them. (Mostly Gaussian Blur, thanks for speeding that one up a few versions ago!)

   Some experimentation with saving multiple copies of an effect-heavy file with different raster effects resolutions confirmed my suspicion that the file size varies greatly with the effect PPI:

   300ppi: 70.8MB
   150ppi: 28.8MB
   72ppi: 14.4MB
   2ppi: 5.4MB

   Reloading the 300ppi copy made it obvious that there's a cache of raster effects in the file, as I didn't have to wait through a half a minute of progress bars while AI rendered a few thousand gaussian blurs like I did a little earlier when I bumped the resolution up.

   I would love to be able to reclaim a ton of disc space by saving my files without all these images. I am perfectly happy to accept the tradeoff of it taking a moment to render them all when I load in a file.

   I envision another checkbox in the Save dialogue, probably right under the 'PDF compatibility' checkbox. "Include raster effect cache"? Defaults to on for new documents, will come up as off if I do a Save As on a file that I've already saved with it off, just like all the other checkboxes in there.

2. Convert Psd to Illustrator Layer Fix

   The issue. Photoshop not converting files for illustrator correctly.
   excuses from locals: It works on in vectors... the arguing point to this... its art... and photoshop is being called a basic thing
   If subject A is photoshop and Subject B is our layers. We have effects and other such various components such as shadows and shading. We are trying to bridge this over to Illustrator.
   The way to accomplish this is each layer to be converted to png in a stack order atleast for a quick fix. So that way no programing and changes. The format would then work as a png which is a stable file. A opacity change could follow as a modification to the subject files.
   As this converts this allow for ourward tracing.
   Time is money and by doing this and accomplishing it you would literally mainstream photoshop back as php and ui/ux and converting it to illustrator and then to xd. Just would make things better. Why build more tolls when you're trying to maximize profits? kills two birds with one stone... I pay more for all three programs... you win... I get to vector my art and work with the speed of massive amount of premade content in photoshop.
   Please for all the things of Jesus and the lambs give this a try.

3. Copying a layer in a multi-layer file does not put anything on the clipboard for SVG

   Select the top layer in a multi-layer file
   Copy it to the clipboard
   Use a clipboard viewer to display the "Scalable Vector Graphics" format

   Expected Result: Well-formed SVG content to be on the clipboard.
   Actual Result: The clipboard has no data for the format, even thought it advertises it as being available.

   I am a Microsoft engineer reporting this on behalf of a customer who is attempting to paste a layer from Illustrator into PowerPoint as SVG.

4. Checkbox to saving process for different file formats

   When we save for clients different file formats, it takes a lot of time to choose PNG and save, AI and save, EPS and save, PDF then save. Maybe a checkbox when we export what kind of file formats we want to export, and it also rewrites the earlier files.

6. fsType not honored when exporting as PDF

   Hello,
   I've noticed the fsType value in the OS/2 table of OTF fonts is not honored by Indesign nor Illustrator.
   
   I've set the value of fsType to 0x0102 and this should prevent subsetting and embedding.
   However, Illustrator exports to pdf, embedding . Worst, it gives no warning the embedding/subsetting isn't allowed for the current font.

   for info, I had flushed any font cache to be sure the font files are the good ones and deleted them from my disk before reopening my pdf to be sure they're embedded.
   For info, these fonts are located in Library > Application support > Adobe > fonts

   Illustrator 24.1.2

7. Asset Export - Make Collection of File Settings

   When using the Asset Export feature – it would be nice to have collections of different formats and sizing. For a number of projects there are repeatable file formats that are needed.

   Allow the user to define these collections (not unlike creating and setting workspaces).

   One might need a collection that has only SVG and PDF, another collection could only be PNG (1x, 2x and 4x). And yet another might need SVG, JPG and PNG, there are so many different ways to work and exports that people need.

   It would be nice to repeat the Asset Export groupings as a collection.

8. Illustrator to Mobile

   Mobile - We need a way to be able to open ai.files (or different formats from illustrator) and edit them in a mobile app.

   e.g.: Right now I will need to change the background of a design everyday. In Illustrator it's easy, all I need to do is change background color export and voila.

   However, if I can't find a solution to edit the background layer (or rectangle on top of it) on mobile. . . Adobe draw doesn't allow me to open ai.files or edit layer by layer. Can't really find a solution.

   I'm surprised that with such an amazing offer Adobe has will all its apps and contents that this is something we still don't have a solution for.

   Please think about it, I believe i'm not the only one in this situation.

10. Export X, Y, W, H and angle to a text file or Excel format?

    Please add a feature to allow AI to export X,Y,W,H and angle to a text or Excel file.
    I have a need to get the coordinates and sizes of buttons (in pixels) for my Touch screen. After you design the image for LCD. You will need to know XYWH and angle for touch purpose. It will be good to have AI to send those information out to a file (not image).

11. Turn "Export for Screens..." into a processing powerhouse for screens and print alike

    Why limit exporting to screens? Many graphic design workflows require assets for both screen and print. A user should be able to pick and choose (and save) all kinds of combinations of formats, dimensions, resolutions, and naming conventions for exporting.

    PNGs, JPGs, EPSs (Please add), PDFs, TIFFs, GIFs, SVGs, etc.

    This could be such a timesaver, and go a long way to help restore faith in Adobe CC.

12. Illustrator can not save with Apple SMB and show column preview on

    Hi
    On Mac, Illustrator can not save with Apple SMB and "show column preview" turned on.

    File says "Illustrator is unable to save this document... due to some unexpected errors"

    Illustrator and photoshop, please change your code to work on Apple SMB. Apple confirmed they will not change their code to fix Adobe cross platform app issues saving.

14. Don’t tell me I can’t save a document because it is saving

    I'm going back to the 2019 version. There are no benefits that I can find to using 2020. First of all, there's the issue of it telling me every time I try to do save-close that it can't close the document until it's done saving it. YES, I KNOW that - I simply don't want to sit here and wait on it, I've got other things to do.

    And on top of that, none of my fonts look pretty and clean like in 2019 and every previous version of illustrator.

    I WON'T be going back to 2020 until you can prove to me it's actually better.

18. Renaming Slices for Easier Export

    Since slices allow us to optimize to a set file size, we use sliced artboards at work to quickly create/export jpegs for the Google Display Network and for our sites. We've made the process pretty seamless with solid templates, but the only thing we haven't figured out how to do is rename the slices. The default is FileNameSliceNumber, but that slice number doesn't help us see the dimensions at a glance. If in our template we could rename slice "04" to "728x90" or whatever custom descriptor was necessary, we wouldn't need to manually change the slice name when delivering assets to vendors and clients.

19. Batch File Processing to PDF (Non-Illustrator Default Like PDF-x4)

    In Photoshop, you have the option to File > Scripts > Image Processor — from there, you can then take a PSD File and batch through a folder of files and change them to a JPEG, PSD, or TIFF while simultaneously running an action through them.

    I propose that we introduce something like photoshops Image Processor where in illustrator you can select File > Scripts > File Processor where you have the option to change an entire folder of AI files into PDF's, SVG's, or EPS's.

    Once you click "Run" (like you would in photoshop) it would batch through an entire folder of AI files and convert them into the specified file format.

    Please bring back FXG.
    SVG is no solution for coworking with complex files in Flash and Illustrator.
    Since years i've installed old cs6 version of Flash and Illustrator only for the FXG export / import.
