Lagg, slowdown and crashing.
Illustrator starts lagging all the time on my a brand new, fully upgraded MacBook Pro. It also crashes almost every day. It's embarrassing that Adobe are charging for a software that barely works. Especially when competitors like Figma is free and also feels like 10 years ahead overall. Solve this or I will end my subscription for good.

Remove "Move" limitation from Transform Each & Transform Effect
When moving items via "Transform Each", objects are limited to moving 55.555". However, when moving objects with Move (Object - Transform - Move), no such limitation exists (Issue is prevalent in V24.0.1, 23 & CS6)
The same limit exists for Transform Effect.
My request is for the removal of this limitation to allow for accurate artwork creation.Issue is documented and verified here:

Bring the "Enhance Thin Lines" On/Off Option Back Again
You have this option on your 2017 version on GPU Performance Tab. On 2018 and 2019 versions, this is not included and it frustrates me as it shows thicker lines instead of actual line thickness.

Hardware Acceleration is not useful for textures...
Hardware acceleration using GPUs does not seem to improve texture rendering performance, for example at 300 dpi or higher raster render quality, the UI lags a lot for complex files.... Same is the case for effects such as blur, glow etc. GPUs are much more capable in rendering than CPUs and Illustrator doesn't seem to take advantage of their rendering power. For example it lags on a GTX 1070 with an 8 thread CPU once you start using raster effects/textures. Please improve texture/raster effect performance using hardware acceleration and optimisation for multithreaded systems.

Shortcut to toggle visibility of a certain layer with guides or a template
More often than not I use a Guide layer on top of my canvas on multiply, to see the guides and what I'm doing at the same time. With a shortcut there would be no need to open the Layers panel and click the visibility button to preview what I'm doing. There could be a special type of layer that could be hidden on export and have this feature or the shortcut could ask to specify the layer to hide/make visible.

Force GPU use. Disable auto GPU > CPU performance.
Force GPU use. We need to disable auto GPU > CPU performance.
It's impressive to have a RTX4090 slept waiting for Illustrator CPU performance...

Make the Info panel more usefull
The info panel is too concise in my opinion.
E.g: when a place image is selected, it should show its pixel size, scale, rotation, color mode etc.3 votes -
@2x Retina pixel preview needed
Designing for high resolution displays is still cumbersome in Illustrator as there is no pixel-preview for retina displays. Please add an option to preview artwork as it displays on high resolution monitors.

Make the corner widgets automatically disappear in small objects
Sometimes when I'm editing small shapes, I accidentally click and drag the corner widgets and end up rounding the object's edges instead of transforming their size. I believe that when it comes to small objects it doesn't make sense to have the corner widget visible as it is not possible to have precision in the rounding of the edges, so it would make sense to make it disappear automatically. This could be related with zoom levels, so when I zoom in that small object, the widgets reappear.
I know that it is possible to disable them, but they are quite…

Illustrator 2021 is constantly crashing, resulting in my not being able to use it.
stop it from crashing. Whatever you did with the 2021 version, reverse it. It's worse than useless. I cannot get any production.

Lock Layer/Object That Stays Locked as a PDF
I have a flyer with text and graphics to send out to end-users. I want them to be able to edit the text in Acrobat but not touch the logo and graphics. I have tried to lock the object/layer but Acrobat ignores my wishes and makes everything editable in the pdf.

Fix synch with Google Drive
Fix the software to be able to save files to Google Drive. Currently if I save over an existing file hosted on Google Drive the new version does not save (if I quit the software, then try and open the file, only the original save/creation file loads, not the most recent version, which results in the loss of work).

Ignore Groups and Clipping Masks
I lost about a Year of My Life double-clicking on objects within a group, inside of clipping masks. A less repetitive and MUCH faster way would be an option to "Ignore Groups and Clipping Masks" (i.e holding some key while clicking).
The option would temporarily (select-wise) treat grouped and clipped objects as normal objects, allowing direct click on an object through a clipping mask and ignoring groups. An "If you can see it, you can click on it!" approach for instant color and other adjustments.
This alone would speed up the workflow and, combined with wireframe view, it would be…

Update links manually
Illustrator is constantly reading linked files, checking for changes. This is normally not a problem, but when the network is slow for any reason (like if you're working remotely over VPN) AI becomes unusable. Simple text changes become an ordeal as every time you switch tools or click anywhere, you have to wait for a minute or two as the links do... whatever they're doing. A simple panel-level option to turn off automatic link updates would make working remotely (which some say is the way of the future) much less painful.
