CS6 does not appear to allow the user to save to older versions of EPS or AI. Many vendors and designers are still using older versions, and the inability to save to older versions is creating a lot of problems.3 votes
It should be possible to do so through File > Save As… then select the Format as .ai or .eps, then click Save. In the next dialog select the desired version from CC to Ai3.
1.Adobe Illustrator cc 21.1.0
2.When Keyboard input isn't eng, shortcut didn't work (ex.can't type "ย" in thai for pen tool, Have to switch to Eng input first)
3.Can use shortcut in another keyboard input that isn't eng.
4.Have to switch to Eng input to use shortcut
ps. Already re-install creative cloud and illustrator as support suggest and can't solve this issue6 votes
I would appreciate being able to bind the ESC key to any shortcut I want, such as deselect. I use Full Screen with Menu Bar all the time and out of Photoshop habit, hit ESC to deselect. But every time, it boots me from full screen. I hate it.
Can you give us some love?5 votes
Add "Edit With" to the Illustrator menu when working with images! Indesign has this and it's very convenient. Its a no brainer to add it to Illustrator!!!!!!!22 votes
This is done in one of the latest releases.
Now the button in Control panel (and in Links panel menu) says ‘Edit in Photoshop’. You also can change it back to system defaults in Preferences > File Handling section.
InDesign has more options, that is true, so please comment back if you need a larger list — but please give a solid justification why :)
As we can do it in PS and ID: menu customisation (colors).
Would be great.10 votes
Please add auto jump in Level Inspector while selecting your objects on your artboard. It's really annoying to scroll down until you find the selected one. Thanks!1 vote
In the layers panel, a group and a layer look the same in appearance. Thus, when a named group un-grouped accidently, it loses its name. This mostly occurs due to lack of visual dissimilarity between and group and layer thumbnail. May be a small marker in the corner of the thumbnail (indicating whether its a layer or a group) should do the trick.26 votes
Would like to see option to always have preview on. Also arrow controls for incremental measurement changes (as in transform) . These are available in many other parts of the interface.
This would speed up the process of creating an offset path.61 votes
I would like an option to set the rulers to show by default. I know it's only one shortcut away, but I have to do it about a million times a day. (OK, maybe only 500K)142 votes
This has been completed, and has available since June 2020 release (version 24.2)
Please go to Illustrator preferences > General > and select “Show/Hide Rulers” (refer attached screenshot). After checking this, if you hit ‘Show Rulers (Ctrl/Cmd + R)’, then the rulers will appear in every document (new and old), even after relaunching Illustrator.

Thank you for all the feedback.
A great feature to have in Illustrator is to unlock the locked object by clicking on the Lock icon next to the object. its hard to tell which object is locked except by going to object -> unlock All, or Check the Layers Panel. Adobe InDesign has this feature for years.86 votes
Hi Everyone, This feature was shipped in Illustrator 2020 version. Please go to Preferences>Selection & Anchor Display > and check ‘Select and unlock objects on canvas’. Enabling this preference will display a lock icon when you select the locked object.
In new versions, CMD + and CMD - Zoom to center of a selected object rather than always the centre of the screen.
It would be great if the possibility to restore the old feature was given.
