1. Allow third-party developers to add dividers and custom sorting into Effect menus

   Third-party developers can add custom items in menus.
   Some create their own sub-menus, some add them in-between native commands... there are several practices they use and when they all get used together it feels somewhat chaotic.

   But it feels like this is because plugin devs can’t fully control the commands in menus. It turns out, they can’t control the order and sorting, add dividers in Effects (but seemingly can in every other menu)...

   Effect menu is the most weird menu in Ai, it looks different from others. Maybe that’s why?

2. Display Color Mode and Resolution (PPI) for a selected image in both Info and Properties panels

   Currently only the Control panel (which Ai team decided to hide for new users with their training-wheels Essentials workspace) shows a resolution and a color mode for a selected image, and Links (but only when expanded, which again is not the default).

   Properties shows nothing, despite the name.
   Same goes for Info panel.
   Make these better.

3. Make scrollbars higher contrast or allow customizable colors for them

   The gray on gray scheme of the slider and handle in the scrollbars is extremely difficult to work with. Higher contrast is needed or provide the ability to customize the slider color. This is an accessibility issue for older or visually impaired users!

4. More Settings button is hidden in the New Document dialog window

   Why 'More Settings' button is hidden in the New Document dialog window?

   More Settings dialog should be a default window when creating a new document instead of random template presets that nobody are using.

5. Disable all "Generative AI" marketing popups

   Whenever I use Illustrator lately, I'll be in the middle of editing a document when this annoying feature popup appears. Literally right in the middle of me trying to get work done.

   Please give me a way to disable this altogether. I have no interest in this feature. Please stop pushing it to me.

7. Menu Item Move Between Creative Cloud Apps

   Suggest adding a menu selected item to navigate between CC apps. When working in AI and need to move image to PS there is no shortcut for this. Moving between Plugins is way easer. May be include a menu selected or button to quickly move the image.

8. Overwriting Existing Workspaces and Toolbars

   If I wanted to update my custom Workspace, I can create a new Workspace and give it the same name as before. When I do that, I am warned that the name already exists, and that clicking 'OK' will overwrite the old one. This is great. But if I try the same process for updating a custom Toolbar, it makes me choose another name. Then I have to remember where these files are stored in the Finder, go to that location, delete the old Toolbar, and rename the new one. Please make the process for updating an existing Toolbar as simple as updating an existing Workspace.

9. Feature Request: Preference for Copy and Duplicate Layers without auto renaming and adding "copy" to them

   Hi Adobe 🙂

   I make large Illustrator files that have lots of layers, and often I find myself copying a layer that has a ton of sublayers. I spend way too much time renaming the copied layers removing the word "copy" or "copy 3" etc from the sublayer names.

   I have found some workarounds, if this helps anyone. If I want to copy a layer called **, I will copy it, then rename it XXXz then paste and the new pasted layer is ** without the name copy, then I can go back and remove the z from the name of the source layer.

   But often, I just want to option drag a complicated layer or a number of elements into another layer and have the names not change.

   Can we make a preference for not renaming duplicated or copied files? It would save me a ton of time and effort, and it seems like it wouldnt be a big deal to add a feature like that - it's not really complicated, but of course it takes time and resources away from other things perhaps?

   Still if it's an easy fix PLEASE consider it? It would save me many hours of time over a month.

    We have released an update (version 28.6) which takes care of this particular ask. Please upgrade your Illustrator application to latest versions and let us know your feedback.

11. Synchronise tiled windows

    I would like to have all tiled windows use the same panning and zoom settings as the window I am currently working in.

    • How it's working now: each tiled window has its own zoom factor. Panning with the hand tool moves the view inside the active window.
    • How it should work: zoom and panning are synched between all tiled windows. They all have the same zoom factor and X/Y position. If I zoom in the active window, all other windows zoom in as well; if I pan in one window, all other windows pan in the same manner.

    This would be very helpful when comparing two files. Now I need to zoom in twice to get the same view.
    Extra points for having the same document in two tiled windows: one window with outline view on, and one window with normal view.

13. Changing 'Screen Mode' forgets where the window was located

    In Photoshop you can use the F key to cycle through screen modes: Standard, Full Screen + Menu Bar, and Full Screen. This works as intended.

    In Illustrator however, when you cycle through screen modes it will forget where your window was previously positioned. Instead, it defaults to taking up the entire screen. This is a bug.

14. Don't reset view rotation when pressing Escape

    When you are in a rotated view, pressing Escape resets the rotation to zero degrees. This is frustrating when you're merely trying to exit Object Isolation or exit text editing.

    There does not seem to be a Keyboard Shortcut for this operation, which I would expect to see.

15. Move document tabs under cursor when closing documents

    When closing multiple document tabs using the X button on the side of the tab, the next document will move under the cursor. However, the tab size changes based on window size, filename length, etc. A better way would be to resize tab length after the cursor is moved away. The result would be that if you close Tab 1, Tab 2 would slide over and the X button would appear under the cursor. Many tabs could be easily closed without moving the cursor.

    An example of software that uses this UI is Safari on Mac. Chrome does it too, but Chrome tabs don't change size. Safari tabs change size, but only after the cursor moves. See screen recording attached.

    Please add the option to delete multiple AI generated variations.
