Swatch icons background color & size feature so that the swatches could be distinguished also if are a white pattern on a transparent bg

Sync the order of Align and Distribute menu commands
Hey, we now have Object > Distribute commands! No more actions wraps to bind these to hotkeys!
However, why is the order is swapped? Align menu has Horizontal commands first, but Distribute has them at the bottom, under Vertical.
One can object it’s just like the Align panel has them, and this is not the legacy behaviour you better keep, really. Please sync these.

Ability to change canvas color
Ability to change background behind art board to any greyscale that works for old tired eyes, independent of the interface setting. I prefer a dark interface with a white art board but a light gray background.

Hitting Alt+Down does not open dropdown lists
I expect Alt+Down to drop down focused lists with options inside, like Font Family / Style, Stroke Weight, etc.
Sure, I understand it might conflict with duplicating, but in fact no, since Ai does not duplicate when a field is focused anyway. At the same time, it’s a common and expected behaviour in other applications.

Please show document name in full screen mode too
When in Full Screen mode (MacOS), the top bar shows 'Adobe Illustrator 2022', but not the name of the document (which is much more relevant ;-)

Taille des repères
Avoir des repère dont la taille est limité à celles du plan de travail plus fond perdu. Procédure de création du repère inchangée. Juste appui sur la touche [Alt] pendant l'opération.

Show global swatch triangle marker in Fill Stroke Control when a global swatch is selected
Global swatches are marked with a white triangle in the bottom right corner of the swatch. Book colors also have a black dot in this triangle.
These triangles are displayed everywhere swatches are used in UI: Appearance, Properties, Control... But for some reason they are omitted in tool panels, in Fill Stroke controls (and also Gradient).
I personally see no reason why. Sure users would benefit from knowing exactly if a color is global or not when they see the color chip anywhere.

Add Preview tick to Average dialogue
Average dialog can be still confusing, and I personally often use a wrong option when I average points.
For some reason when I choose 'horizontal', I often imagine points to share the same X value, 'occupy the same position horizontally'... Same applies to Y. Sure, this is not what Ai mean, in fact it’s 'stick to the horizontal axis'.
I see both views as valid, and can’t learn it solid enough to never make mistakes. However, Ai can learn and add the sticky Preview checkmark, so I and others were able to see the result before they hit OK.

In Appearance calling alternative color UI is done with Shift and not obvious Alt
For some we have to hold Shift while clicking a fill/stroke square in Appearance panel to call the alternative pseudo-panel.
Alt = Alternative. Sure, Macs have Option instead, but it also fits.Also, the hint has the 'Shift' and 'Color' written in lower-case: 'Hold shift key to bring up alternate color UI'... and I have no idea why 'alternate', why no alternation happens? Who wrote this hint?

Drag tools from one toolbar to another
When I setup tool panels for various reasons), I can’t just drag it between tool panels.
The only way to do it now is to remove the tool first in the first toolbox and add it again in the second one. Each panel has its own Edit mode and tools get dragged only within an edited panel :(12 votes -
Layers panel dimensions dynamically resize, or have tools cling to bottom of layers list
When I open a layer, the layer list is quite long so I need a tall panel. However when they're collapsed it's a much shorter list and suddenly the trashcan button is super far away from where I'm working in the layers. It would be nice if the panel automatically resized to keep the toolbar near the list, or otherwise have the toolbar cling to the bottom of the layers list so it's easily accessible when working in that panel. Convert fractions to decimals within the program, not just the new file dialogue box: 116-7/8" to 116.875 in.
We work with various large format sizes given with fractions, but the programs run off decimals. The New file dialogue box will convert them, so why can't this be added to the number fields for artboard and object sizes? Similar to how we can use the "/" to divide by a number when working at 1/4 scale or 1/2 scale.

Adapt Dark Title bar in dark mode in Illustrator for Windows
The existing title bar is white, enabling dark title bar will help us get a more unified UI.

Highlight last used field
Best feature in Indesign is to jump back to last used field using a keyboard shortcut. I think this should definitely be part of every application, including Adobe Illustrator. That is, similar to Indesign:
Activate last-used field in panel --- Default: Opt+Cmd+`
This should be a great addition to all the Adobe Applications.

Add option to change stroke/font units faster
For my workflow I constantly need to change the unit of strokes between points and inches. It would be nice to add a way to change them in 1 click rather than going Edit > Preferences > Units every single time. Not a huge change but would be quite convenient and probably fairly easy to implement. We can currently set the unit of the whole document in a window, but not things like stroke/font. Could just add the option to the existing stroke window like the attached picture.

フォント選択、フォントリストの「そのフォントの場所」からスタートしてほしい
フォントを選んでいるとき、常にリストの最初に戻るのをやめてほしいです。
「新ゴM」を選んでいたら「新ゴM」から始まってほしいです（以前のverのように）。
いろんなフォントを選んでいるときに毎回戻ってしまって、とても非効率です。
ぜひ改善してください。

Bullets & Numbering in Shortcuts
The menu items for bullets and numbering are not in "Edit shortcuts" At least not in the German version of Illustrator.
Could they perhaps be made available for shortcuts?

Add Cut At / Connect / Remove Selected Anchor Points commands to 'Object > Path' menu
In Control panel we have three buttons for a point partial selection:
Remove selected anchor points.
Does the same as a menu command Object > Path > Remove Anchor Points, and this command can have a hotkey assigned toConnect selected end points.
Does the same as a menu command Object > Path > Join, and has a default hotkey. Why Ai uses both 'Join' and 'connect' for the same operation, and also has 'Join' tool, which does a pretty different thing — is an UX mystery.Cut path at selected anchor points.

"線幅を拡大縮小"にショートカットが欲しい / Scale Stroke & Effects Hotkey
線幅を拡大縮小にショートカットが欲しい。又は、キーボードショートカットで作成できるようにして欲しい。
デザインの作業で、同じドキュメント内でも線幅を拡大縮小するかはオブジェクトによって違い、かなり頻繁に、そしてスピーディな作業の中で必要になります。
そのため環境設定か、拡大縮小ツールをダブルクリックし、チェックボックスにチェックを入れたり外したり、という作業が非常に煩わしいです。4 votes
