Record OK button in Actions
In my action I need to confirm a dialog manually all the time. Can't figure out how to get the robot to click 'OK'.

Please allow "ACTIONS" menu to record the SCALE in the EXPORT SCREENS dialog for Artboards. I'd love to be able to record ALL the frequent filetypes and associated sizes for each asset and deliver an ACTION to my entire TEAM that makes this efficient for our everyday usage.

Batch apply action to selected items
It strikes me as absolutely bizarre that you can't apply an action to multiple objects in turn. You can batch apply actions to files. You can apply actions to selected objects. You can apply actions to a selected group of objects I think? But you can't batch apply actions to groups of objects. I have about 300 really short little lines in an infographic that I need to be the same length. They're fairly spread out and any anchor selection based approach would take 2 hours. What an incredible hassle.

Create an Action from History Panel
Ok... I've hit on an idea.. I think. Have you ever been experimenting and hit on a great idea, or manually created an effect to lettering, and would like to apply the same treatment to other objects?
This could be an option in the Actions panel to create an Action from history. This would involve a couple new tools. A History panel like Photoshop, and an option to create an Action from already performed steps.

Better options to layout and save button mode in actions
Allow editing of multiple actions at once: eg shift select a group of actions, go to action settings and set the colour for all. Allow separators in button mode.
This would help me as I have a large number of actions, grouped by the type of illustration I am working on. I usually work in button mode, so segregating by colour allows my to identify actions quickly. If I have to reset my preferences, or reload group actions, it can take nearly an hour to set this up.3 votes -
Making all functions recordable
Corel has had this feature for ever. Need to increase productivity by recording actions and applying quick keys to it. But we need to record extensions, and scripts that we run.

In actions, ability to copy a dimension from transform window and paste in a move command
In actions, the ability to copy a horizontal or vertical dimension from the transform palette so that it can be pasted in another command (usually move).
For example, I'd like to be able (in an action) to copy the height of a selected object, then paste that elsewhere, such as move that distance, or create a rectangle with that measurement as one of the dimensions.5 votes -
Ability to reset rulers' origin to upper left in actions
Ability to reset origin to upper left in actions. Currently done manually by clicking on the rulers, but would be good to be able to include that in an action.

Ability to add effects in Illustrator actions
It would greatly enhance the performance of Illustrator actions if it was possible to add features such as effects to an action. Keep all settings stored and without having to see the dialogue box for the captured effect when played back in the future.
For example, including a 3D Rotate effect from Effects> 3D> Rotate... and capture all of the settings in that dialogue box within the action whilst recording.

It would be great if the values of recorded actions can be changed in the actions panel.

Make Document Color Mode menu available to set up as an action
Make Document Color Mode a recordable action. I have to edit lots of files and they all have to be CMYK. If I forget one, it will look horrible on our website and we might never notice it. It would help a lot if color mode could be set up as an action.

Allow Batch Actions to work on all open files
Batch Actions can work on a folder of files but not all open files. Photoshop can do this, why not Illustrator?

Possibility of recording "key object" by action
It would be great to have possibility to record in action "key objects", because it's very hard to do an alignment between objects by actions without this one especially if you want align to the edge of objects.

Play actions in Button mode
If it would be possible to add a shortcut, or a way, to press "Play" button in action tab, from button mode.
Having multiple actions is easier to handle in button mode, but it is unable to use more complicated actions for example with stops, because there is no play, and way to adjust shortcut for it, so you need to be in standard mode.2 votes -
batch action to include image trace with ignore white plus expand
I would like to use image trace including advanced setting ignore white, plus expand to get paths, in a batch action. I can do these as separate actions, but not in combination on one image and not at all as a batch process. I confirmed this is a limitation of illustrator currently with your support reps in live chats. If you could add this in your next update that would be great! thanks.

Allow custom keyboard shortcuts for custom Actions (beyond the F1-F14 keys)
I work speedily. Shortcuts are my thing. The F1 keys are a hard reach for me on my keyboard and I usually need to use my eyes to be sure I'm selecting the right F key. Why not just let the user assign a custom keyboard shortcut for each custom action?

Save A Copy Action with current name of file
Currently, if you create an Action and go to File > Save A Copy... with a PDF Preset and in specific folder or desktop etc., it saves the file name that you create the Action with in the Action.
It doesn't update to the new file you are applying the action to. So if you run this action on several documents they all save over each other unless you manually change the file name in the operating system.
It would be nice if there was an option that lets you add the file name to which the action is being…10 votes -
Illustrator Actions switching document tabs
I have two document templates open. I would love to be able to use the Actions to record my action of switching tabs and continuing my actions on the second document. I know the keyboard shortcuts for switching tabs, but I can't record that action in Actions panel.

Make "Constrain Width and Height Proportions" Actionable.
"Constrain Width and Height Proportions" setting is not remembered in an Action. Therefore, the Action will perform incorrectly if this setting has been changed since the Action was run. Make this option controllable within the Action.
