Center Pattern Command
Draw a vector shape and fill with a pattern, notice this is not centered. To do this is a long meticulous process prone to error.

Can we get an option in the Align panel to do this?

Objects on Path needs a way to control spacing / gaps precisely, with a value
At the moment we can’t control spacing (gaps) between objects on path ion the new Objects on Path type of object (what a beautiful sentence).
We can only eyeball it with a slider, which is incrementing by points (despite me having set millimeters as my ruler units).
There is no field I can type something like 0.125 mm, or at least a modifier key (like Cmd/Ctrl) to make the slider go slower ×10 (or any other value I choose somewhere in Preferences or at least in Adobe Prefs file, buried in Ai’s folders).
Perhaps yo should also allow us to…

Allow to use point-specific controls and functions when all points of a path are selected
There is a limitation in Adobe Illustrator with aligning anchor points.
When using the Direct Selection tool to highlight anchor points on a path the options to align anchor points disappears in the Align palette if all points on a path are selected.
That can be a problem if I'm trying to align two points on a simple two point path. I either have to add additional points or manually align the path using smart guides. It would be really nice if one anchor point could have key object like behavior and stay locked in place. Certain rival vector graphics…10 votes -
Add ability to sort or reorder Objects on Path
Love the align to path tool. It has made things so much easier.
One suggestion, however, would be to rearrange the order of elements you aligned. Ideally, you would allow us to sort elements and give certain properties like HUE, Transparency, Size, Rotation, and then we could easily make things like fading shapes to signify movement or just by size where the bigger things were aligned at the end.
You could even make a series of tools like the Symbol Sprayer tools that let you manipulate the pieces on the path by spreading in areas and shrinking areas. Resizing or…

Allow to nudge or rotate individual elements along the path for Objects on Path
Objects on Path needs more options and in its current setup is very limited in its usefulness. This tool feels like it's still in beta. Whilst it's good at doing the one thing it's designed to do, it's missing a lot of useful capabilities.
One of missing bits is the ability to nudge or rotate individual elements along the path.
Other two requests are:
1. Objects on Path needs an ability to keep orientation of objects relative to page/path, similar to blends — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/48984890
2. Add an option to measure gaps between objects in Objects on Path by their bounds,…10 votes -
Align By and Align To separate per object aligned
Current alignment in Illustrator is barely sufficient. I should be able to align any object or path by any point to any object or path by any point.
Perhaps if you created an alignment tool that allows us to select not only the alignment objects, but the points for each object to align by then your alignment methods would be so much more robust.
Using the align tool would create a list of alignment participants on a slide-out panel. When selecting an element to align, you would pick from one of the 9 reference points or click anywhere on the…

Allow to Move All objects and adjust their Spacing from both ends in Objects on Path
Objects on Path construct has several on-canvas widgets, allowing us to quickly eyeball some parameters interactively.
One of these is the starting position of the array along the path.
If the length of the array is shorter then the path, we can grab the rhombus marker and move all the objects together along, keeping the gaps.Another one is Space widget, which is located above the construct.
We can grab and make all the gaps shorter or longer at once. For some reason both treat the array as directional.
We need an ability to be able to move the array…

Objects on Path needs an ability to keep orientation of objects relative to page/path, similar to blends
Objects on Path needs more options and in its current setup is very limited in its usefulness. This tool feels like it's still in beta. Whilst it's good at doing the one thing it's designed to do, it's missing a lot of useful capabilities.
What's missing is the ability to keep the baseline of the objects i.e., keeping the objects horizontal. What it needs are the same options as Type on a Path (Rainbow, Skew, 3D Ribbon, Stair Step, Gravity).
Other two requests are:

Add an option to measure gaps between objects in Objects on Path by their bounds, not between centers

If the objects are different sizes it doesn't space them evenly. Spacing currently is determined only by the center points of the objects rather than its bounding box. At least make it an option.

Make objects in Objects on Path to reposition relative to one set as a key object
Align and Distribute operations in Illustrator support picking a key object, by clicking on of the objects in a selection, so it get a thicker edge. This object stays in place, while every other in a selection aligns or distributes relative to it.
Sadly, this 'key object' paradigm is largely unloved in other areas, but it's also neglect in new Objects on Paths construct.
While it does not support setting a target path with it (requested here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/48988013), it also does not allow to 'fix' one object on path as adjust gaps relative to this fixated object. What we…

Arrange selection in Grid
I would like to be able to select multiple objects.. for example 50 circles. and hit a button to arrange these objects in a Regular Grid of rows and columns. where I can set the QTY per row and column and its spacing and it would move the objects into a grid formation. also the option for a hexagon or Honeycomb grid. would save a lot of time from doing it manually

Automatically rearrange are resize selected objects in columns / rows with uniform gaps
Could you have a function that automatically arranges links or shapes in the layout space with an equal distance in width and height?

Align to guides
Select multiple objects, click a guide then a small align box opens, select vertical align for example and it aligns all the objects to that guide line. Also the horizontal/vertical distribute centre doesn't work with logos, even shapes it does but if you select 4 random vector logos it doesn't space them evenly

Align is immune to Constrain Angle
If we change Constrain Angle in Preferences general, our grid gets rotated, all shapes get create as rotated...
Pretty powerful, right? Read more about it here, in the Rotate the x and y axes of a document:
https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/rotating-reflecting-objects.htmlHowever, even though it’s an old feature, it was never completed, it seems.
Align functions just ignore it, making alignment to an angle a rather cumbersome endeavor: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/39019732This also makes Rotate View pretty useless (which does not counter-rotate the Constrain Angle, unless you use free Direct Prefs plugin by Astute Graphics to handle it automatically, among other things) — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/44001624

Automatically pick a key object from a selection as a target path when using Object > Object on Path > Attach command
Illustrator allows us to set a key object by clicking one of selected objects, to perform align and distribute operations (sadly, a very underutilized method!)
But Objects on Path doesn’t use this method at all, technically being an align & distribute operation.
If I have a selection and marked one object as a key one already, after calling Object > Object on Path > Attach command I STILL have to click a target path! I already made my choice before running the command, why does it force me to make a choice twice and precisely click again?
A clear miss.…

Gap Tool and Live Distribute like InDesign has, with improvements
InDesign has Gap Tool — https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/aligning-distributing-objects.html#align_objects_using_the_gap_tool
Also it has Live Distribute —helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/aligning-distributing-objects.html#distributeobjectsusinglivedistribute
These allow us to control a gap’s size between chosen pair of elements (quoted):
—Drag to move the gap and resize all objects aligned along the gap.
— Shift-drag to move the gap between only the two nearest objects.
— Ctrl-drag (Windows) or Command-drag (Mac OS) to resize the gap instead of moving it. Adding the Shift key resizes the gap between only the two nearest objects.
— Alt-drag (Windows) or Option-drag (Mac OS) to move the gap and objects in the same direction.…

Align objects according to order of selection (first / last)
Align objects according to order of selection. Simple. No more moving objects forward or back just to align correctly. It is so stupid and I'm sick of it!
