Auto Spell Check (red squiggly line like InDesign, Microsoft and other products)
Illustrator REALLY needs to have a feature (that you can turn on or off) for spell check to have the red squiggly line underneath mis-spelled words, like what InDesign, Microsoft, and many other programs have.
I am happy to share that ‘Auto spell-check’ feature has been shipped in the latest version of Illustrator. Here is how to enable/disable it in the latest release : https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/whats-new/2020.html#spellcheck

It seems ridiculous that this feature has not been added. Every other app on the planet seems to have it.

I suggest that Hunspell would be made available for Illustrator like InDesign has done. What would make spelling and hypenation available to many more language regions.

My guess on why this may never get implemented, is that there maybe licensing fees to add that feature to Illustrator, and Adobe has no interest in paying for that. I have no idea if that is the case or how much it would cost if there were fees. But it would seem to make sense, because I think it would be trivial to add.

If you click on the" Yogesh Sharma " link of the man that placed this topic on backlog - errors that page can't be found. Yogesh Sharma Linkedin profile does not have him working at Adobe.
This thread is a dead and forgotten!

Come on Adobe! Get this going so I stop getting everyone's comment email updates of what a joke this is. The only email update I want on this topic is that this feature has been added. Thank you!

Haha, yeah people have been asking for this for YEARS. The whole "oh uh... we'll get around to that later" response is kind of hilarious.

This has been a pain for years, you've had customers telling you for just as long and the best response is 'We will be picking it up shortly'!
Come on Adobe, at least give us a reason why it is not included or if it is in the pipeline... even writing this comment, I've misspelled 2 words and the red squiggly line picked it up. Baffles me why it's such a hardship to add this feature.

How far away is "shortly". Your paying customers are sceaming for it!!!!!!! It's possibly one of the most important features and should be top of the list!

Ugh. Came here hoping to find an answer, yet found others who are dealing with the same issue! Fingers crossed this solution comes soon. Probably a totally uninformed view point, but if InDesign has it, how can't they figure it out for Illustrator!?
