Re-Size Font to bounding box, not bounding box to text
Have an option for the text to adjust to the size of the text box for longer text for variable input purposes.

We can all see the Auto-size option for area text. this option allows us to resize the bounding box to the text size. but we cannot adjust the font size to the bounding box without manually flipping through the font size.
i am using variable data and would love to set a size limit for the bounding box, where the text will auto adjust the font size to fill that space.
We are producing personalized footwear for thousands of teams. if there is anyway to help us out with this, it would be amazing!!
attached two socks going to the same team but shows the size difference in the names. i had to manually adjust these. looking to make it automatic through variable data import.

I need this option also. I am working with hundreds of variations using variables and the longer text is unusable without manually adjusting the text size.

The existing 'Auto Size' option in Type > Area Type Options
does not do this, as it resizes the text box to fit the text. What we want is for text to fit into a fixed text box.. -

Yes, I need this feature, too.
I am creating 6000 flash cards, each having a word on it. Some words are very long, and must shrink to fit the text box. As I am doing this with variable and script, to automatically resize the text would save from manually examining each and every card and fixing it when necessary. This is not only tedious, but also error-prone.
This feature could have an option to enlarge/reduce the text to always fit the text box. What we are asking is to reduce only and leave the shorter texts alone.
