AI 2020 slow
I am working on a 2017 iMac pro with an 18 core Intel Xeon W processor, 128 GB of 2666 MHz DDR4 memory and a Radeon Pro Vega 64 GPU (16 GB memory). I just (November 5, 2019) updated to AI 2020 and everything is significantly slower than the last version of AI 2019 (yes, GPU enhancement settings are on). I purchased AI CS because it had the GPU enhancement and it was 64-bit allowing me to work with the rather large vector images produced during my data analysis from spacecraft. However, this slow down is like going back to AI CS 5. What changed/went wrong in the new AI 2020 that caused such a drastic change in performance? AI 2019 was fast and great but something broke in 2020 making everything (saving, dynamic manipulations, etc.) much slower.

No official communication or response about this?
We're tired of working like this, but we're paying for the service.
Seriously, no response?

I have used AI since 1988 and I have never experienced the latency that is occurring in the CC 2020 version!
I am using a 16" MacBook Pro w/ 2.6 6core i7, 16 GB DDR4 and an AMD Raedon Pro w/4GB.
Ugh. What is the deal Adobe?
To add insult to injury, I am a college professor with 75 students experiencing the same problem. -

Facing the same issue. Working wit AI 2020, 32 GB RAM, saving a DIN A5 File with 300 dpi takes up to 3 min!! :-((( That is really annoying.

Yeah this software has been impossible to work with. Does anyone have recommendations on different vector software? I am thinking to switching completely to Affinity Designer and Procreate for my creative tools.

Not stoked everyone else is having these issues however it is reassuring to know it's not just me. It is @‽*&ing frustrating. On the bright side at least everything else on our rock is rolling on quite nicely... oh.

Here is the video what I have discouvered. If you want to elimiante the delay/latency when resizignvector shape you have to catch two vector on the same time or convert shape to compound path hehe check the video: https://youtu.be/HBO0pH_ee3A
Adobe maybe you will quicker find the solution for this behavior to fix it... its hard to deisgn the logos :/

Yes I agree in 100% on my iMac 5k 2019 i9, Pro Vega 48, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Illustrator is sluggish, have latency when resizing vector objects, moving canvas is really laggy and uncomfortable to work. The same feeling was on Mojave and on Catalina. Now I'm on Catalina because overall experinece with OS is better than Mojave.

The same problem with a macbook pro and Catalina. The automatic update was on. This morning I got the message a new update was installed. And afterwards I couldn't work any longer. Everything ist sooooo slooooow. And instead of the pointer I mostly get the hand to move the page. I can’t select the things I want to change.
So please help! -

Way too slow. SO glad I left 2019 on my system. Switching back. Everything lags. Saves are soooo slow.

Agree. Torture. Saving even a small file causes a delay even when no other apps are open.
