An ability to resize all selected objects to a specific size
If you have multiple objects selected that range in size, say .5" to .75". they ability to select them all, then size them ALL to 2" and not just the first object to hit 2".

Add trackpad support for Windows / Surface devices (zoom, scroll, etc.)
Windows Surface Book trackpads have little to no gesture support. It's incredibly annoying. Please add pinch to zoom, two finger scrolling, etc.. The same functionality you would expect on a macbook would be great.

I have a problem when after updating my mac os to the latest up date high sierra while using adobe illustrator ( the vectors have scratches and it got fixed when I zoom in and out from illustrator). check the attached file it might help explaining my problem

AI CC 2018 SLOW!!
I can't even begin to share my frustration with how SLOW the performance of the AI CC 2018. I've reset preferences, restarted, reinstalled...
I'm running a 2017 Macbook Pro - everything should be running just fine but I see others are having similar issues with the speed. Must be a bug and needs to be addressed!!

Shortcut to toggle visibility of a certain layer with guides or a template
More often than not I use a Guide layer on top of my canvas on multiply, to see the guides and what I'm doing at the same time. With a shortcut there would be no need to open the Layers panel and click the visibility button to preview what I'm doing. There could be a special type of layer that could be hidden on export and have this feature or the shortcut could ask to specify the layer to hide/make visible.

There is a double layer enabled at the launching screen and New File screen
Upon opening the 2018 CC apps the welcome/launch and the New File screens have 2 layers attached and thus makes it hard to select the file or action that I want.

Better handling huge images in clipboard
When I cut huge images, AI literally puts them in clipboard and it takes minutes to complete and sometimes crashes AI.
But I usually do this only to immediately paste them in front/back of other objects, to make desired order.
AI don't have commands in Layers palette like 'Move in front/back of selected objects', so this is almost the only way to achieve this.
Dragging selected objects (including images) within Layers palette is very incovinient, because I don't know exactly where targeted object is located there (but I can clearly see it on page).

How about designing a user-friendly, intuitive vector app with a clean, uncluttered interface? You know, like Freehand used to be!

Please help ALL Adobe CC products load 2x sooner, run 2x faster, and use 0.5x the memory...
It is clear, by running applications of other vendors on the same PC, that my PC is running fast and smooth. That is for all vendors, except Adobe. Although Adobe CC products are great in my eyes, they take a LONG time to load, have huge delays when switching tools or workflows, and use large amounts of memory on my Task Manager. If the overall speed of everything could be doubled, and the amount of memory used could be halved, then we would be in the right ball-park, performance wise.

Go back to old Align to Pixel check box
I wish Illustrator would go back to having a check box for align to pixel. That way I could see just by clicking on an object or objects that it is aligned. Now, in Illustrator CC 2017, I have to select every object seperately and press the new button on the top right, in order to get the message that it is aligned.

assign key short cuts to change Constrain angle in prefs
I would like to see access to Doc prefs via short cuts / actions. So for example when i press F3 i change constrain angle to 30 degrees. Currently use a keyboard macro make for this but its not very good. In general if we could access more things via shortcuts and actions it would make work flows more efficient.

Custom templates / presets should not be stored in the application folder
Custom templates, etc. should not have to be stored in the application folder... which means I'm throwing away user-generated documents when I upgrade the app.

Select non-default eGPU for hardware acceleration
We use external GPUs as provided to us by Apple in the External Graphics Development Kit and want to use these eGPUs instead of default GPUs built into the MacBooks.

Designers are being asked to design for new end user media
Creating ways to take my vector to 3D, for 3D printing, CNC plasma cutting, and new ways that are being asked for designers and artist to file share and work better together. Exporting my work for auto cad, and 3D software, plotters etc and simplify the paths. There is 2D and there is 3D cad. But as an artist I want to be able to take what I have done in Illustrator and evolve my work and output options to and material to the next level. CorelDraw was just a play toy program. Alt + Cancel Button will Reset to Default Settings
Click Alt + Cancel button will Reset settings to their defaults - specifically in "Transform Each" command ,I use this Command on a regular Basis where it has many Fields to be set to their default every time.

Make Illustrator multi threaded on CPU
Illustrator performance is awful, its slow and lumbering at all but the most basic operations. It is bound to only a single cpu thread which is ridiculous now in an age of multi core and multi thread CPU's and it has been this way for many years. It cannot handle background tasks and is completely out of parity in function and performance with other Adobe software such as photoshop and inDesign.
719 votesIt is not as straightforward as it may sound :) We have been working to take advantage of threads and other hardware such as GPU/Video RAM in places where it can make a higher impact. We are prioritizing areas that are slow instead of making a generic change and destabilizing the product. Product stability is the top priority for us and we have been consistently trying to improve it. We want to move with caution and make changes without compromising on the quality. Hope this helps.
