Ability to export all text at once, for translation
Please make a way to export the text for translation and then import again. Like InDesign's IDML files. You have so many users that would like to translate their content for foreign language markets and no good way to do it with InDesign.

Eyedropper Tool should pick colors from OpenType-SVG fonts
When picking a color from either color vector and bitmap OpenType-SVG fonts, the picked color is currently the default underlying text color (often black), not what is actually displayed on screen.

Ability to switch how letters overlap
By default, when letters overlap, each following glyph is displayed above the previous one.
When using text effects or OpenType-SVG fonts, this can lead to disappointing results, like shadows on the wrong direction.
Would love to be able to toggle the order in which all glyphs of a specific text selection are rendered: above or below the previous one.
Could even use the extra space in the Character palette to include the feature button ;)

Missing Fonts Copy/Paste Font File Name in Resolve Missing Fonts Window
If Multiple fonts are missing , and all need to be activated in my font management system, I have to type in the search bar the name of the font exactly as it is spelled in order for the correct one to appear. This can be time consuming when a customer has provided multiple fonts with irregular naming conventions.
Can we have an update that makes the notices in Resolve Missing Fonts window active so it is possible to copy the name of the font exactly as it is being recognized in the program?
Thanks.

Transparency modes for coloured fonts in AI (Fontself Plugin)
Hi, I'm using Fontself in Illustrator. I designed a coloured typeface, all is good so far but when I type a text, and try to apply the multiply mode in transparency when selecting the text, nothing really happens as it would happen with any normal font (please see screen capture for reference). Is there any way to integrate this feature in Illustrator, where we can adjust letters' transparency and transfer modes of coloured fonts?

The ability to select a vertical row within text to change color or make it bold.
The ability to select a vertical row within text to change colors or style.
We design a lot of restaurant menus, brochures, TV menus, and currently to make the items and prices have its own color or style, we either duplicate and erase items/prices to change color and style (bold for e.g.), or we change each line manually (which takes some time).
Wish to see this in Illustrator soon.
Thanks

Hide / disable unwanted fonts
There is a long list of fonts that I just don't use. There needs to be some way to hide fonts. Especially with all the fonts that get added, plus any fonts that the os has installed.

Let me change reading direction with the vertical text tool
When using the vertical text tool (which probably was designed for asian scripts) the default textflow is from right to left (as with most asian languages, I guess). It would be need if I could change it to left to right.
Issue has also been discussed here:

Allow the user to choose artboards for spell check
Allow the user to choose artboards for spell check, every time I make new changes it scans the complete document. If the user knows which artboard needs spell check or which range would be easy for people like me who suck at writing correct spelling.

Spell Check Ignore Icon Fonts
Spell check should recognize icon fonts and stop recommending corrections to them. In a document with many icons, I don't want to have to add every icon into the dictionary or have to know that if I capitalize that word it would actually break the icon it creates.

Editable text underline feature as available in Indesign
Illustrator is the industry standard application for the packaging design and artwork industry. I don't think that this was the original plan for Illutsrator but this is now just a fact of life and millions of users around the world in the packaging industry use this day in day out for very technical builds where printer specifications must be taken into account. There are hundreds of features that could be added to make our lives easier as we work the lack of certain features to get it to do what we need. But the most glaring ommision for many of…

It would be nice to have an overline feature along with the underline and strikethrough.

Absolute Optical Kerning when scaling....
I understand show optical kerning works and that smaller type will have relatively more space between glyphs than larger type. However, this results in a problem for those of us who, due to Illustrator's canvas limit (See 227, #downwith227), must design at scales smaller than 1:1.
For that reason, I would like to request that there be an optional type of optical kerning implemented which does not add extra kerning as font size decreases.

Ability to search Glyphs by name
For Symbol/Icon fonts, it's impossible to find a specific icon you're looking for when there are thousands of unicode icons to sort through one by one. If I want to find headphones or something in the Glyphs panel, right now I can't just type "headphones". I have to search through every single icon and can easily pass by it multiple times.
