Collapse all open panels hotkey
Ai has a lot of panels — and it’s more panels every year.
I have two systems now: one is extra huge, where I can set three expanded docks stacked in the right side and still feel like I have enough space for the actual art, and a smaller one (which is still bigger than my very first one I worked with Illustrator on) — there I keep all my panels collapsed in tight columns.
When 'auto-collapse' option is turned on, Ai pushes my previously 'open drawer' back, but only when I pull one from the same dock — and I have to have many docks now. Panels form adjacent docks overlap each other and I can’t collapse ones beneath those later opened — I don’t see a button and can’t get where one ends to click the header.
So may be we should have an assignable hotkey to collapse all the panels? Like with a wand in Harry Potter, whoosh, and the room is tidy again.
This is not like a Tab does, that’s just hides all and remembers their states, and not a Shift+Tab — and again, why these two are so slow to react. Compare them with Blender, where UI changes are instant, or Affinity’s product, or Corel’s ...OK, this one is even slower than you :) Same 30 years!
The thing I ask about is a band-aid solution, I feel. But in current paradigm it’s better to have it.
