Add copy/apply choice to Offset Path
Most of the time, when using the Object > Path > Offset Path tool, I need to replace the original path, rather than add an offset copy of it. Currently, this requires me to offset the path (often multiple at once) and then delete the existing paths.
It would be much easier if Offset Path offered the same choice of "OK"(Apply and replace original path) and "Copy" as the transform tools.

export for screens, select: none
When I 'Export for Screens' and have loads of artboards I can select 'All' as a checkbox.
It would be good to be able to select none - instead of clicking the dozen or more select boxes to un-select artboards.
This would save heaps of time - its annoying not to have it.14 votes -
Make Keyboard Shortcuts and Action panel both see shared conflicts
You can assign F-keys to panels in Keyboard Shortcuts.
You can assign F-keys to actions in Actions.
But they know nothing about each other. When you try assign a combination that is already taken by another command, Keyboard Shortcuts window will warn you and give ways to solve the conflict... but not if the F-key-combination is taken by an action — it knows nothing about actions.
Same with Actions panel — it knows nothing about Keyboard Shortcuts and never warns you, if you try to set, say, Shift+F8, which will disable native Transform panel call.
Please let these two work in the same database and know about each other and warn users.
Also, please vote for these related requests:

Different Customizable Shape Gradient Constraints
Much like the flexibility of the radial gradient feature, it would be incredibly helpful to have a similar tool to make gradients, but one that does not constrain you to a circle or ellipse. Yes, AI provides the freeform gradient tool and the gradient mesh tool, but these are often a little finicky and time consuming to use. One can also use the blend tool to attempt a freeform gradient. All of these are far too complicated for creating such simple gradients. I propose that a customizable shape gradient tool is implemented. Like the other gradient tools, one would create the shape, then apply the gradient fill. However, for each gradient stop, you could create and move a dotted gradient boundary. The color would radiate from the first custom shaped stop to a custom shaped second stop. Here is an example of what I mean: (please excuse the rushed illustration)

Please give us a keyboard shortcut for "scale strokes & effects"...
and show an icon somewhere in the user interface, that is always visible and shows the state of this preference.

Allow docked tool panels to stack one under another
For now a docked tool panel takes the whole column, not matter how short it is. It forces us to clump all custom tools in one panel. Normal panels can stack any way possible.
Please, give us the possibility to dock tool panels in rows too. Also look related request about separators in tool panels:

Cluster / group small increment edits like nudging as one "move" in History to undo
In Photoshop, when a user nudges an object by holding down an arrow key for an interval of time, PS clusters that series of nudges as one "move". Then the user can undo all of the nudges at once with one "Undo move" command in the History panel. Since Illy doesn't have a History panel (and why is there no History panel? Don't like it, don't use it.), it's impossible to undo all of the nudges with one "Undo". Please make Illy treat nudges like PS does.

Escape key should deselect any selected object
This would be extremely useful when you are zoomed in and a lot of objects are filled in your screen and there's no empty space around to click if you ever wanna deselect an object. Please map the escape key so that it deselects any selected object.

Allow us to customize/choose features/controls/order in Control panel
A Feature that can be used by any Tool or Panel which is most common (like Fill & Stroke), that should not be active in the both (Control Bar & Properties Panel )sides at a time.
When Text Object is selected by Arrows.
If you have selected Text by using Arrows/Selection Tools, you should have good options in the Right Click's menu, like Spell Checking which is logical according to selection.
It would be also better if these features will be added in Control Bar by replacing redundant Features Like Fill & Stroke which can be used by Panels and Tool Bar or These Options (Spell Checking) according to selection (Text) should be in the Properties Panel with the properties of current tool selected/Active, (hope Properties Panel would be converted into Tools Properties Panel)A Feature that can be used by any Tool or Panel which is most common (like Fill & Stroke), that should not be active in the both (Control Bar & Properties Panel )sides at a time.

Keyboard shortcut for Relink (Link palette)
One of the features I use very heavily is the Relink button in the Link palette. It has major advantages over the Place function:
1) it automatically replaces selected linked images (Place requires you to check the Replace checkbox, which becomes unchecked once you do any other Place that isn't a replace)
But most importantly,
2) It allows you to relink multiple linked images (replacing them in order from topmost to bottommost).Since there is literally no other way to replace multiple linked images in a single action (Place grays out the Replace checkbox if you have more than one linked image selected), clicking that tiny little chain in the Link palette is the only way to do this. That means you have to have the link palette open in order to access this feature. While I use the Link palette for all sorts of things, unless I'm replacing linked images (or checking their attributes), I usually have it collapsed or hidden by other palettes.
So the current workflow is (1) select the objects to relink, (2) open/show the Links palette, (3) click the tiny little chain icon. When doing lots of relinking, this is tiring.
A keyboard command that would activate this functionality would be a huge timesaver for anyone who is using Illustrator's otherwise excellent aggregation functionality.
Thank you for your consideration!

Cut, trim or divide open paths (lines)
Option to cut, trim or divide open paths (lines).
For example if "Divide objects below" worked on open paths as well.
Or if the Knife could cut open paths, and cut straight as well.In attached example, I would have liked to cut my lines with the circle. Instead, I had to cut every single line individually in the intersection, locking the circle and using the Outline View.
Creating interesting designs, we have just as much need for trimming/cutting lines as filled objects.

I'd love for the pathfinder to be able to cut up bitmaps, avoiding having so many extraneous paths in a complex file
It would be nice if I could embed a jpeg or some other graphic format and then be able to use the pathfinder tools to change the shape of the image. Seems doable as the graphic imports as a path that happens to be filled with pixels rather than a color or pattern. The main reason I'd rather use the pathfinder for this over a clipping path is to reduce the number of paths in a complex document. When there are many elements in a file, having a lot of clipping paths makes the structure of the file difficult to parse due to the use of paths that have no stroke or fill.

When outlining dotted lines with "aligns dashes", unnecessary anchor points are generated
When dotted lines with “Aligns dashes to corners and path ends, adjusting lengths to fit” are outlined , unnecessary anchor points are generated in the circles at both ends.
When performing detailed processing to create artwork, I sometimes outline dashed lines. So, unnecessary anchor points are an obstacle in such processing.
Although there are workarounds, I hope that users will get clean outline results without any ingenuity.Workaround:
(A)
1.Double-click anywhere in the stroke with Width tool to add a new width point.
2.Execute “Expand Appearance” , “Outline Strokes” or “Flatten Transparency”.(B)
1.Drawing strokes in accurately calculated length with “Keep exact dash and gap length” .
2.Execute “Outline Strokes” or “Flatten Transparency”.---Japanese Translate---

Start editing text hotkey
Whenever I want to edit a text, I have to pick a Text tool an click it, or double-click it with a Selection tool. Why would I need to click a text which is already selected?
Please, make Ctrl+Enter start editing selected text, as PS does now. If several text objects are selected, use topmost, or closest to the screen's center or cursor or give people an option to choose.

Chinese text hyphenation alignment for punctuation marks in Illustrator text box
Punctuation marks justified alignment on textbox.
Need to automate the text alignment in the textbox for Chinese characters.
Because it is very time consuming to do manual kerning for each characters reiteratively, whenever there is amendment to the text in the box.14 votes -
Resize linked images to 100%, or adjust image’s scale / resolution
Right click on an imported or linked image (Like a picture you just took with your phone or any other image) and have an option "Resize to Original Size" or "Resize to 100%." Similar to Apple's Keynote application for imported images when you click the button "Original Size."

Customizable "MOJIKUMI (Typesetting)" as same as InDesign.
In the case of Japanese, arranging characters beautifully is directly related to the readability of the text, so typesetting is regarded as important.
Japanese typesetting is delicate and very difficult.
I would like an equivalent type engine for InDesign.
A common UI with InDesign is desirable.(Translated to Japanese)
14 votes -
Set export options to default to the same folder the native is housed in
Set default export or save as locations to start in the same folder as the native Ai file as opposed to previous locations. It can be rather cumbersome when switching to an entirely new project, then exporting that project and having the 'save as' default to the entirely other project's recent save.

Dark mode / Light mode (Automatic)
Now that macOS support a real light/dark mode, it would be really nice to have this option enabled automatically in any Adobe products when I switch from light to dark and vice versa in my system preferences.
It would be even cooler if you added an option to change the interface automatically depending on the time of the day.

Let's add Vasily Hall's name to the Ai credits?
These never get added for some reason, so I'm going to try once per day to put it up here:
As you may be aware, Illustrator has a natively build CSV-import feature for variables now. This wouldn't have come if Vasily didn't undertake the effort to create this feature as a script, 3 years prior. https://github.com/Silly-V/Adobe-Illustrator/blob/master/Variable Importer/VariableImporter.jsx
His contribution was:
1. User research, connecting with users from all over the world to get a sense of whether anyone even wants to import CSV files and use graph variables.
2. Naming convention syntax for visibility and graph variables.
3. Logical mechanism for adding individual graph states within CSV record cells.
4. A multitude of LinkedIn articles on variable data usage.
5. A collaboration with a video author to produce the Lynda.com tutorial on variable data.
6. Discovering bugs within the native variable data feature.Over a 3-year and ongoing timespan, the amount of effort is not insignificant, therefore my feature request is to add just a few pixel's worth of data to an Illustrator build, in form of the name "Vasily Hall".
Would it put tremendous budget strain on the company to add this name to the credits? It would seem to be a very small cost to bring some sense of integrity back to the software and corporate handling of its development.
