  1. Export JPG/PNG(any format) in same folder of AI file (like before)

    Hello, since update (CC 2018 22.0.0), when I do file>export> as jpeg, the file location is the last used and not the same as the AI file just open.

    This can seems not important for you, but I do this 40x per day and now it's a waste of time. In CC 2017 this was ok.

    I have to browse all the folders on local network .. to find my folder and it's boooooring.

    There is no setting for this in preferences.

  3. Unable to export Artboards as SVG

    The AI does export to SVG. I have used this constantly in the previous version, but the new version will not save the image in SVG format using the Export for Screens option.

  4. XD and PS defaults to open .ai files - AI files should open with Illustrator only

    Working in windows 10. After updating XD and Illustrator to 2019, all my existing .ai files have been defaulted to open in XD. I can use the "Open With" option to successfully open .ai files in Illustrator but the default always stays with XD no matter how many times I select Illustrator.

    Uninstalled XD. AI files cannot locate Illustrator as primary software for launch.

  5. Unable to export PNG higher than 72ppi

    "Export As" command will not export PNG files any higher than 72 ppi. Even when I set it to export at 300 ppi, it still exports at 72.
    Please fix this!

  6. Can't save files in Catalina

    With the new OS Catalina, Illustrator no longer can save, save as or export any file. This is a critical issue. Not sure how it would be missed in testing. is it a known issue and being worked on?

  7. Image Not Visible/Blank When Placing EPS Files into new file

    I use a program called Separation Studio to separate raster images into spot colors. I then open up a new Illustrator file, click file -> place -> select the eps file created from Separation Studio, and the image that is placed is blank. This was not an issue with any versions of Illustrator. In previous versions, you were able to see the image that was placed and even change/alter the spot colors that were brought in.   8. AI 2020 V.24 Unknown Error while saving

    Just updated to V.24.
    There is a critical bug while saving on an external hard drive or a network storage. The saving process ends with a generic error and the file just DISAPPEAR from the server.

    This issue is fixed in 24.0.1 beta build and you can download it from the location: https://www.adobeprerelease.com/

    You need to join the Adobe Illustrator CC pre-release program after logging into the above site under the “Available Programs” tab. Your Adobe Creative Cloud login credentials will work perfectly here.

    After joining to the pre-release program click on the “My Programs” tab and click on “View Program” button under the heading Adobe Illustrator CC.
    In the downloads section builds are posted under title “24.0.1 Build 1”.

  9. Save a Copy in same folder of AI file (like before)

    Save a Copy in same folder of AI file (like before)

    Since the update to 22.0, the behaviour of “Save a copy” has changed so as to present the last-browsed folder destination in Windows Explorer. Previously this defaulted to the location of the working file.

    This is interrupting workflow considerably. I’m sure I am not alone in saving PDF copies of artwork in profess, for discussion with colleagues and clients. This used to be a couple of keystrokes but now I have to remember to browse back to the working file location each time.

  10. Unable to import SVG textPath

    Illustrator is able to export SVGs using the <textPath> element for use in browsers. However, it is unable to import SVGs using the <textPath> element - instead of importing them properly, it puts each glyph in the appropriate position along the path, but it doesn't rotate the glyphs.

    The workaround is to generate SVGs with "expanded" outlines for text, but this leads to much larger SVG files, with a loss of editability.

  11. Version info disappeared from “Get Info” of Finder

    macOS 10.12.6
    CC 22.1

    For ai files saved using v22.1, version info is not displayed in “Get Info” of Finder.
    When checking with xattr command, com.apple.ResourceFork did not exist in those file.
    Did the specifications change?

    Resource Fork in .ai files are removed in version 22.1. This is done to prevent an intermittent crash while saving Illustrator files to smb volume on macOS 10.13. Apple deprecated resource fork many years ago.

  12. Local file saving and opening is extremely slow when connected to slow external server or VPN.

    LOCAL file saving and opening is extremely slow when connected to slow external server or VPN.

    Even though I only work on my local drive, opening or saving a simple document takes up to 2 minutes when I'm connected to a slow VPN connection server. Note: I don't open/save through the VPN, I only opens and saves from my local drive.

    The second I close the slow VPN connection, Illustrator works like normal and saves the same file in <3 seconds.

    So -- What is Illustrator doing accessing that VPN connection when everything it needs is on the local disk?

    I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 23.0.6 which is available worldwide now.

    Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

  14. illustrator wont open file windows

    I have searched the support site and user voice with no results.

    When I attempt to drag an *.ai file from the explorer window to Illustrator, or when I double click the file, it does not open. When I double click the file, Illustrator opens or switches to the window, my cursor briefly shows the 'thinking' animation but nothing happens.

    * There is no freeze or crash
    * Restart of the application did not fix the issue.
    * File>>Open is the only way I can open files
    * This happens to all files whether created with CC 2019 or earlier…

  15. illustrator cc 2018 wrong in export psd after rasterized

    colors change in file export with pantone, my steps are as follows:
    1- I have created a file in illustrator CC 2018 with 8 spot colors or pantone.
    2- rasterize the file with the function "keep spot colors " flagged
    3- export the .psd image with the function in the connection tab
    4- the resulting file has changed colours and wrong result

  16. SVG Paths with marker endings render only the markers, not the paths

    MacOS Mojave 10.14.6
    Illustrator CC 2019

    1. rename the attached .txt file to .svg and import the SVG file into Illustrator.

    expected result: Illustrator should display a line with an arrow at the end.
    actual result: Illustrator displays only the arrow at the end.

    also attached: image of problem behavior.

    removing the marker-end attribute from the path in question will display the line.

  17. SVG Stroke Widths are not scaled according to viewBox

    MacOS Mojave 10.14.6
    Illustrator CC 2019

    1. rename the attached .txt file to .svg and import the SVG file into Illustrator.

    expected: it should display two horizontal lines
    actual: it appears as a rectangle because the lines are touching

    here are two lines, 200px apart, with 100px stroke width in a 500x500 SVG with a viewbox of 1000x1000. since the viewbox is twice the size of the SVG document, the stroke width should be scaled down to 50px and the lines should not overlap.

  18. Clicking on File > File Info... does nothing and sometimes locks up

    When opening a file or creating a new file, nothing happens when I click on File > File Info...

    The menu bar disappears and all menu options are grayed out. I can sometimes hit escape and it clears the condition, but I'm unable to open the File Info dialog. Other times, it completely locks up and I have to Force Quit.

    On version Illustrator 22.0.1
    Running Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.3 (17D102)
    MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)

  19. Files not saving correctly, reopens to older versions.

    Twice this week I've saved files, closed them, and opened them later and my changes were not saved – illustrator opened way older versions of the files. What's weirder is one is a PDF, and the PDF shows the accurate file, but when I open it in illustrator it shows the old version.

    When I save, even a blank document, it takes Illustrator a lot longer than the previous version to save.

    We would need details of your machine to further investigate. Here are the steps you should follow
    1. Click on the Illustrator File menu > Package…
    2. Select all the checkboxes on the subsequent dialog if not already selected.
    3. Save to a location you can remember – you need to send us this file after creating a zip of the folder
