1. Problem with <use> element of SVG files

   In SVG 1.0/1.1, the <use> element uses the xlink:href attribute to refer to objects; In SVG 2.0, the attribute was changed to href. Illustrator supports the former, but not the latter, content will be lost when opening such a file.

   Below is a simple test case (saved as a .svg file). There are three circles in it, the second one is referenced via xlink:href and the third one is referenced via href, opening the file in Illustrator will only see the first two.

2. Save As and Export dialogue box not opening / appearing

   running v26.5, Macbook Pro M1 14, OS12.0.1

   'Save As' and 'Export' dialogue box not opening so unable to save or export anything when running two screens.

   'Save As' and 'Export' dialogue box opens but is fully greyed out when only using laptop (see screenshot).

   Problems started a few days ago and cannot be sure if it was tied into an OS update.

   I do not run any plugins.

   I have:
   • Reset preferences
   • Uninstalled and reinstalled
   • Restarted machine several times

3. Dialogue Boxes not opening

   I am running Illustrator 26.5 on macOS Montery 12.6 and no dialogue boxes are opening. I have to restart Illustrator in order to save, export, etc. Once I force quit, if a file has been recovered, when I got to save that file, Illustrator crashes, and I am unable to save (as the cycle just continues).

4. Font weight lost in SVG export

   When exporting to SVG the code seems to have lost the font weight atribute. We are exporting in bold and the old epxort used to include the code font-weight="700". The new code has ommited the font weight.

5. File overwrites without warning when exporting to PNG

   When you Export a file as a PNG, check the "Use Artboards" and select a specific artboard, Illustrator overwrites your file without warning. This is not consistent with exporting to SVG.

7. Date Modified has been replaced by Date Created in 'Open' window in Illustrator, but remains in Finder

   The title pretty much says it. I'm on OS Monterey 12.4. We have already tried with Ai 26.3.1, 25.0 and, 24.0 version with the help of an Adobe agent over a remote session but issue remains same. In the Finder, when I open a window, I can list the files ordered by Date Modified, but within Illy, it's ONLY Date Created. There is no way to get it to show Modified. I got a new (to me) system about a month or so, and installed the newest version of Illy, and that's when this started. My old versions showed Date Modified. I'm at a loss.

8. Package dialog resets folder name when a new destination is chosen

   If you enter a custom folder name in the Package dialog, then change the location to export to, the folder name resets to match the file and does not retain the custom folder name.

   Expected behaviour is for the custom folder name to persist when changing the export location.

9. Unable to open/paste/place images from AfterEffects generated PNG sequence.

   I'm getting error when I'm trying to open/place/paste image form After Effects (22.4.0 build 54) genereted PNG sequence. Png can be any size (tested with 1080x1920 & 640x640). Images had no transparency (solid white bg).
   Error says "Requested transformation would make some objects too large". When I press OK, png image opens in another tab with dimensions of 16383x 16383px for 640x640px picture. I can open same image in Photoshop without a problem. The DPI of the image generated by AfterEffects is 72dpi.
   Illustrator version 26.3.1.
   After Effects 22.4.0 build 54
   MacOS 12.2.1

   P.S. My colleague was able to open this image on Illustrator version 24.

10. Exporting to SVG returns different code after Illustrator updates

    I use Illustrator files as source documents for complex system maps that we export to SVGs for applications. With the most recent updates, the exports have significantly changed the output code for the SVG which is impacting the javascript interactions with those svgs. The first and most substantial issue is that in calculating the viewbox attribute parameters, Illustrator is NOW including hidden layers where it once ignored them. I use a background layer which mimics our system's background colors to more closely reflect the contrasts needed and hide that for export. But where once the svg tag exported as
    <svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" viewBox="0 0 1317.04 755">
    it now exports as
    <svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" viewBox="0 0 1407 791">
    which shifts all the other object coordinates within the svg, unless I actively delete that layer from the illustrator file.

    Keep in mind that for the above example, nothing in the Illustrator file was altered between the two exports other than the Illustrator update.

    I've also noticed that bold text once carried a font weight and now omits that.

12. SVGs are missing elements when opening with Illustrator (and PhotoShop too)

    For the last several weeks I've discovered that opening SVGs with Illustrator (and PhotoShop in fact) results in a significant portion of the artwork being missing. I've opened over 100 SVGs from multiple sources and every single one is missing elements when opened in Illustrator. When opened in Inkscape or Google Chrome the SVGs are fine. See attachments for an example SVG file from the web.

    My work is almost solely in SVG for compatibility with other devices (laser cutter, etc), and not being able to successfully open ANY SVG is incredibly disruptive. I can export from Inkscape as EPS then it will open in Illustrator, but it's not the right file type for my needs. I also shouldn't have to use a free, inferior program to work around bugs in the very expensive software I pay for.

    I'm using the newest version of Illustrator (26.3.1)

13. dxfデータ・dwgデータを読み込むと形が崩れる

    Auto CAD LT2023で作成したdxfデータ・dwgデータをillustrator2022（バージョン26.3.1）で開くと形が崩れてしまいます。

    添付画像のように，一部のスプライン端点（恐らく閉じている部分）がillustratorで読み込むとアートボード左下部分に集まってしまい，大きく形が崩れます。

14. Adobe Illustrator: can't save the illustration, ID: -54.

    Same issue with some members here but I couldn't find solution. Can't save existing illustration file (in .pdf), have to "save as" new file. Really hope to get helps in detail showing how to fix this.

    1. Windows 10 Home - version 21H2, installed on this new computer on Apr. 8th 2022.
    2. Ai version 26.3.1 (latest version on Adobe Creative Cloud).
    3. The step: Saving an existing file (in .pdf). have to save as new file after even 01 modification in the file.
    4. Expected everything back to normal, can open file, make change(s) and just save it.
    5. File & video uploaded.

15. New & Save As

    New & Save As is not working in Illustrator. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, made sure all the preferences are the same, but there still seems to be the same issue. Is there going to be an update to fix this or is there something I can do my end to fix it? Thank you.

    Hello,

    I'm trying to copy the name of my working file and paste it into the name of the folder I just created (with the help of the keyboard shortcut), but it doesn't paste the name. I have to paste the name with the help of right click of the mouse. Can you fix this situation?

17. SVG export with Internal CSS and Layer names - not working suddenly in 26.2.1 - export does not contain layer names; omits some layers

    Illustrator 26.2.1 CC on Mac OS (Intel)
    Export used to export layer names with these settings.
    Now it unexpectedly exports shortened group names.
    How can I revert back to old Illustrator version?

18. 別名保存後にJPG書き出しした際、JPGのタイトルが別名保存前の名称になる

    オペレーティングシステムおよび Adobe Illustrator (デスクトップ版) のバージョン
    macOS Catalina 15.7
    Illustrator 26.0.3（2022）

    問題が発生したときに実行していた手順
    1　aiデータを開く（ファイル名　1.ai）
    2　別名保存する（ファイル名　2.ai）
    3　JPG書き出しをする（ファイル→書き出し→書き出し形式→ファイル形式：JPG）
    4　保存されたJPGをFinderの「情報を見る」で情報を開く

    想定していた結果
    ファイル名、タイトル共に「2」となる

    実際の結果
    タイトルが別名保存する前の名前「1」となる

    業務のワークフローで、
    aiデータをJPG書き出し→フォトショップのドロップレットでPDF変換→
    PDFにキーワードをタグとして付与しフォルダに集める→必要な時にFinder上で検索
    という手順を行っています。

    PDFにする際、JPGのタイトルがそのままPDFのタイトルとなるようで、検索の際にタイトルでもヒットするため関係ないファイルも検索されてしまい困っています。Acrobatでタイトルの変更ができますが、ファイルの最終更新日時が変わってしまうので可能な限り避けたいです。

    数年前から同じような現象が起きているので、以前のバージョンから発生しているかもしれません。

19. Illustrator selecting Folder name and renaming file when saving into Folder

    When saving an Illustrator file - and InDesign also - I click the name of the folder that file is to go into and the filename changes to that folder's name. Why is this happening? Why was this not found when debugging these very expensive applications before throwing them at subscribers and hoping they will work? Really not professional. We pay far too much money for stupid things like this to happen. Needs to be fixed immediately. InDesign also.

20. Incorrect prompt for color profile when opening documents

    Despite adjusting the Color Settings so that Profile Mismatches and Missing profiles are all unticked, I always get an error message when opening a document which says "Your current colour settings honour CMYK profiles in linked content but profiles were set to be ignored when this document was created".

    There doesn't seem to be any way of stopping these annoying error messages. How do I set up Illustrator to ignore profiles in linked content, like it was when the document was created? Or alternatively to add a default CMYK profile to the linked content automatically?
