Deleting Files V25.0.1 and V25.1
When saving, files will randomly be deleted, with and without error messages. There is no way to tell when this is going to happen, and the file is having to be recreated from scratch.

Crashing with every SAVE 25.2
Every time I go to save, AI crashes and my new "Save As" document is empty (zero bites).

App crashes after attempting to save document
App will crash if saving with Cmd + S or manually saving from File-Save or File-Save As.

Illustrator won't replace existing PNG file; creates copy and adds "-01" to filename
When I update an Illustrator file and wish to export/replace the previous PNG file, Illustrator asks me if I would like to replace the existing file. I click "Replace". However, the result is a new file with "-01" added to the end of the file name. The old version still exists. Why bother asking me if I want to replace it if it insists on creating a copy?

Same keyboard shortcuts for two different options in the Place dialog box
In the Place dialog box two different options (Open Cloud Document and Replace) have the same shortcut — 'C' key. In both cases the 'C' letter in the option titles is underlined. See attached screenshot.

Curser at the end of document name field during "save as"
When you "save as," the curser automatically appears at the end of the document name in the document name field - i.e. right after the file name extension. I never need to edit the file name extension, as I can do that in the dropdown menu, but I DO need to edit the name of the document. This, combined with the fact that there's now a lag of a few seconds before you can type in the document name field (submitted in separate comment), is making saving different versions of the same file veeeery annoying.

Lag before you can edit a document name during "save as."
There's now a lag of a second or two before you can edit a title when you "save as" a document. It's super annoying if you have to resave multiple files.

Title tag in Illustrator Editable PDF is not updating on save with "Press Ready" setting
I notice this when I open the Illustrator pdf in Google Chrome, it is using a title tag within the pdf to display the title. If I save the file as pdf with the preset "Press Ready" as is optimal for preparing print files with linked bitmaps, this tag is not being updated and chrome displays the original title. Often I will make files from other files as templates and it will show the name of the original file, which is confusing for clients who see sometimes another company's name in their file name. Illustrator reverts back to Style Elements instead of Presentation Attributes for svg
BUG:
Steps to reproduce:
- Open an SVG file.
- Save as; in the dialogue for CSS Properties select <Presentation Attributes>
- Continue working on the file, specifically by changing the art board size and other resizing activities.
- Save the file
Expected:
I expect that opening the file in a text editor will show that presentation attributes are used, such as fill=noneActual behaviour:

DWG file won't display after Open... in Ai
Want to import and edit a DWG drawing that functions perfectly on Autodesk website file preview page. (I don't use Autodesk.)
All 67 layers and hundreds of sub-layers are listed on Layers panel and selected but Ai shows only a blank white page.
System is Dell AW17 laptop with nVidia 1070 graphics; Ai reports Intel 530 graphics card 'unsupported driver' on startup but I am not using it; Windows 10 and Ai fully up to date1 vote -

I am using Microsoft edge on windows and I created projected for assignment and getting saving to a legacy error when I try to save it.

Pdf open in AI different than Adobe Acrobat Reader
Sometimes, when I open a pdf in adobe acrobat reader, everything is ok. Image is aligned correctly.
But, when i open same pdf in Adobe Illustrator, the image is not correctly placed in Artwork bounds.
- Work around to solve this: Object – Artboards – Fit to Artwork Bounds

Fehler bei Dateisicherung auf Netzlaufwerk
mit Adobe Illustrator 2020 konnt ich ältere Dateien nicht richtig im Netzlaufwerk speichern. Es hat ständig eine tmp. Datei erstellt und die Originaldatei hat sich nicht geändert.
Ältere Dateien konnte ich mit Illustrator 2019 auf dem Netzlaufwerk bearbeiten und speichern ohne Probleme.

paths missing in export
When exporting a vector image, some of the paths in my pattern fill are disappearing. It's weird because on the export panel it shows up fine, but when actually exported the paths are missing.

long file names
If the file name is too long for Windows 10, no error message is generated but the file is not saved.
Interestingly, the thumbnail on the Home page for AI shows the final version of the artwork, but clicking on it opens the last one actually saved instead. I didn't know what had happened and closed/reopened AI to get AI to open the correct file, then saw the file did not actually exist.
I was able to recover my work because the last 3 tmp files were not removed, so I renamed the extensions to "ai" and got my work…

Illustrator 25.1 (64 bits) doesn't open some files on previous versions
When I try to open some files created a year ago, Illustrator show me an error window which explains that the program have tried to recover the file but partially. When I click open, only an artboard appears and nothing else.
After that, I close the project and a pop up window ask to rate the recovery functionality. For now it is dreadful. Hope You can fix it soon

Opening a v25 .ai file with illustrator v25.1 causing text issues
I received an illustrator file from a client that was v25. I already had all the necessary fonts used in the project. I opened it with the latest version (25.1) and the text on almost every artboard was altered in some way. Often all the text in a text box was gone except for a few characters. After downloading AI 2020 I was able to open the project file with the text in tact.

When exporting as PDF with password (to edit/copy), insertion point doesn't move to password entry field

When saving as a protected PDF (require a password to edit/copy), as soon as you click the checkbox to enable that, the text insertion point always used to jump immediately to the field to enter the password. Now, nothing happens. You have to click the box. There are no other options in that area of the Save as window; you click the box to enable a password, and the only other option is to then enter that password. Preview Icon not Showing on MacOS

Illustrator (2021) - 25.1Steps and Expectations
1) Save work as most recent version of native AI file with PDF Compatibility On.
2) Expected file would have a preview icon of artwork found on desktop.
Icon Preview is on (always) for all folders and root users.
3) File saved with standard Ai icon, and no icon preview.Sample image shows Ai file and what Ai icon should look like as per the JPEG file.

File is corrupted
I saved 2 different ai files and exported them as pdf or jpg and then opened them the next day to make edits and it deleted all the artboards but one on both. These were big files but they said they were saved before I closed it. Please help!
