Trying to update but I simply don't have the option, please see screenshots for reference.

Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.
I have group with 3 vectorized brush strokes (each is a group itself).
I want it's height to be scaled twice and then to be distorted to arc.
I apply Transform Effect and then Arc effect.
I expect group to look like bottom one, but it looks as top one!
The bottom set is group actually scaled and distorted, the top set is group with two effects applied — it looks like AI22 scales each path within two-level group and then apply Arc to main group.8 votes
Placing elements on pasteboard works fine. I adjusted the transparency of the element on layer to 40% over a red box. Now the element shows that transparency. If you try to revise the transparency the properties window shows the element at 100%. There is no way to adjust the transparency back to it's original 100% or know the current transparency.3 votes
I combined 2 horizontal bars with one vertical bar in the middle, resembling the Latin 'I'. Bar thickness was 7pix. In fields of many of these objects the unrotated I's look like having thicker bars compared to the rotated, there the bars are slim. Aliasing errors?1 vote
I want to scale appearance of my art only, without changing scale of art itself. The way I'm trying to do it — is to use Scale tool's dialogue with 'Transform objects' unchecked and 'Scale strokes and effects' checked.
AI does nothing.
Strangely, but if I cut and paste this art into new document, AI don't allow to uncheck 'Transform objects' anymore.
I can work around this, scaling art with effects down, and then enlarge only art, without effects, up to desired size, but this is not very nice way to do it.
Photoshop does scaling of effects all right.9 votes
- Create a text box, on a colour background.
- Make some of the text a colour, some black.
The black does not overprint, it reverses ("knocks") out of other text in the same box reverses out (becuase it's colour or white).
If you fix this by making the black text multiply, on reopening the file, it has reverted to reversing out.4 votes
Illustrator 21.1.0 shadow effects render out as boxes on re-open. Effect is lost and cannot be recovered.1 vote
3D habitually doesn't render objects properly - typically by missing off the fill. Here's a simple example attached.1 vote
Create a text box.
Direct select the container path.
Give it a stroke.
Select the text box and apply the Tansform effect.
Delete the Transform effect.
Stroke appears.4 votes
