合成フォントを使うとaiファイルのPDFデータが空白になる
「PDF互換ファイルを作成」をチェックONにして保存したaiファイルには「ネイティブデータ」と「PDFデータ」の2種類の異なるデータが格納されています。
Illustrator環境設定「ファイル管理 > バックグラウンドで保存／書き出し」をONにして合成フォントを使うと、aiファイルの「PDFデータ」が空白（PDFのコンテンツストリームが空）になってしまう場合があります。なお「ネイティブデータ」は正常に保存されます。
●PDFデータの確認方法
拡張子「ai」を「pdf」に変更してAcrobatで開く。拡張子「ai」のままAcrobatで開いてはいけない。
または、InDesignドキュメントにリンク配置する。
または、macOSならクイックルックで表示する。再現手順
●前準備
1. Illustratorを起動
2. 環境設定「ファイル管理」の「バックグラウンドで保存」「バックグラウンドで書き出し」をチェックONにする
3. 合成フォントをすべて削除する
●再現操作
1. 新規ドキュメントを作成
2. 合成フォントを新規作成
3. テキストツールで文字を入力
4. 2の合成フォントを3に適用する
5. ファイル保存
6. 合成フォントの設定を変更する（ウェイト変更など）
7. ファイル保存2020（24）は5の時点でアラートが表示される。
2021（25）は5の時点でアラートが表示される。
2022（26）は5の時点でアラートなく保存されPDFデータが空白になる。2023（27）は7の時点でアラートなく保存されPDFデータが空白になる。
対処方法
環境設定「ファイル管理」の「バックグラウンドで保存」「バックグラウンドで書き出し」をチェックOFFにする。ただし抑止はされるが完全に防止できるわけではない。

Character colors set for character/paragraph styles loaded from another document are lost when the file is saved and reopened.
別のドキュメントから読み込んだ文字スタイル・段落スタイルに設定された文字カラーは，ファイルを保存して再度開いたときに失われてしまいます。
macOS & Windows OS, Illustrator all versions
再現手順
① ドキュメント上で段落スタイルを新規作成し，文字カラーを設定後，保存する。
② 別のドキュメントの段落スタイルパネル「段落スタイルの読み込み…」より，①.ai を読み込む。
③ 読み込んだ段落スタイルを適用したテキストオブジェクトを作成し，保存する。
④ ③のドキュメントを再度開く。望む結果： ①で設定した文字の色が，段落スタイルの「文字カラー」に設定されている。
実際の結果： 段落スタイルの「文字カラー」は「なし」になっている。
読み込んだスタイルを適用したテキストオブジェクトの見た目は黒くなり（カラースペースがDevice Grayになり），カラーパネルの表示は「？」になります。
上記手順では「段落スタイル」について書いていますが，「文字スタイル」で設定した場合も，同様の不具合が発生します。

オプティカルカーニングのテキストにタブを設定しても揃わない - Optical kerning text does not align when tabs are set
「文字間のカーニング：オプティカル」のテキストに「タブ」パネルで「タブ位置」と「リーダー」を設定しても、タブの位置で文字が揃わない。
MacOS Monterey（12.7.4） + Illustrator 2024（28.4.1）
再現手順:
1. テキストオブジェクトに文字パネルで「文字間のカーニング：オプティカル」を設定する
2. 「タブ」パネルで「タブ揃え」、「タブ位置」、「リーダー」を設定する期待された結果:
指定したタブ揃え・タブ位置でテキストが揃う実際の結果:

・テキスト中のタブのみに「オプティカル」以外のカーニングを設定する
・タブを設定したテキストでは「オプティカル」以外のカーニングを利用する「オプティカル」以外のカーニングを利用すれば回避できますが、フォントや文字の内容によっては「オプティカル」を使いたいこともあります。その都度タブのみに「メトリクス」等を設定するのは手間がかかります。また、「リーダー」に記号等を設定しなければテキストは揃いますが、それではタブの機能を利用する意味がありません。
InDesignにも同様の機能がありますが、カーニングの設定が何であれテキストの位置はタブ位置で揃います。
ユーザーの工夫で回避するのではなく、Illustrator側が改善すべき挙動だと考えます。---Use translation tools---

Characters on path disappear after Outline Text or just explode and get scattered all over the canvas
Started in in version 27.7.0
Reproduction procedures:
1. Create type on a path in document.
2. Save the document and close it once.
3. Open that document and select the text on a path.
4. Execute command “Outline Text”The above procedure will make it all disappear and disappear.
This phenomenon is not reproduced in Illustrator 2022 or earlier, so it seems to be a 2023-specific bug.〈にほんご〉
再現手順
1. ドキュメント上にパス上テキストを作成
2. ドキュメントを保存し、いったん閉じる
3. ドキュメントを開き、パス上テキストオブジェクトを選択
4. アウトラインを作成以上の手順で、テキストはパスごと消えてなくなります。
Illustrator2022以前では再現しなかったため、2023固有のバグと思われます。-

ドキュメントのラスタライズ効果設定が300ppiの場合でもApple Color Emojiが低い解像度でラスタライズされる
macOS Ventura / iMac27inch i5/32GB/1TB
Illustrator ver.28.3（カラーフォントに対応したバージョン全てで同様の挙動だと思われます。）問題が発生したときに実行していた手順
1. テキストツールを使いアートボード上をクリックしテキスト入力モードに
2. 字形パレット上で任意の絵文字をダブルクリック
3. アートボード上のポイントテキストに絵文字が入力されるので、サイズを15pt程度に設定する。
4. メニューより「書式→アウトラインを作成」を実行する。
5. ビットマップ系のカラーグリフのフォントなのでビットマップに変換されるが、アウトライン前の表示に対して著しい解像度低下が起きる。想定していた結果
アウトライン化後もアウトライン前と同程度の品質のビットマップとしてラスタライズされる。実際の結果
72ppiでラスタライズした状態になる為、ドキュメントのラスタライズ効果設定にて300ppi等の高解像度設定を行っている場合、想定した品質のものにならない。AppleColorEmojiフォントは各グリフをpng形式で持つカラーグリフフォントです。Illustratorはこのフォントを表示するために、当フォントが数種類内包するサイズ違いのStrikeの内のもっともピクセル数の多いStrike8を利用してレンダリングします。これは各グリフが160px×160pxのサイズで、上記の手順での表示品質を充分担保できるサイズと言えます。
しかし、アウトライン化の際、Illustratorはこのフォントが持つpngデータを利用せず、一律で「RGB/72ppi/アンチエイリアス無し」の設定でラスタライズします。そのせいで本来フォントが持つディテイルが失われます。「ドキュメントのラスタライズ効果設定」が300ppiの場合15piのグリフは60px×60px程度のサイズでラスタライズされることが期待されるのですが、72ppiで処理される為に半分程度のサイズとなります。
アウトライン化という意味では埋め込み画像を生成する際にフォントが持つpngを読み出して配置するのが理想であると考えます。しかし、ドキュメント解像度にあわせたラスタライズ処理を行うという処理も合理的ではあります。
いずれにせよ、データの品質を担保する意味でもドキュメントのラスタライズ効果設定に応じた処理をお願いします。11 votes -

「オーバープリントブラック...」の不具合
OS／macOS11.6.8
Illustrator.ver.27.7（以前のバージョンから同様の挙動と考えられます）スタイルの当たったテキストをCMYKの黒100でオーバーライドしたものに対して「編集→カラーを編集→オーバープリントブラック」を適用するとCMYK黒100の部分がスタイルのカラーにフォールバックする。
再現方法
1.テキストフレームを用意し塗りに対して明るい色を設定した段落スタイルを適用する。
2.任意のテキストの塗りに対してCMY各0、K100のCMYKブラックを適用する。
3.このテキストフレームを選択し「編集→カラーを編集→オーバープリントブラック」を適用する。
4.CMYK黒で指定した部分は塗りに対してオーバープリントが設定されるが塗りがスタイルカラーに戻る。期待する結果
「編集→カラーを編集→オーバープリントブラック」を適用してもスタイルを適用したあとでCMYKブラックをオーバーライドした部分の色が変わらずオーバープリント属性が設定される。実際の結果
「編集→カラーを編集→オーバープリントブラック」を適用するとスタイルを適用したあとでCMYKブラックをオーバーライドした部分の色が変スタイルカラーに変わってしまう。回避方法
スタイルを適用した部分を黒でオーバーライドする際はCMYKブラックではなくグレースケールのブラックを利用すると回避可能。また、スタイルが適用されたあとCMYKブラックをオーバーライドされた部分のあるテキストフレームをスクリプトにてoverprint属性を適用しようとした場合も同様にスタイルカラーに戻ってしまいます。
回避方法がありますが、CMYKブラックとグレースケールブラックで挙動が異なるのは問題です。オーバープリントブラック処理は最終的に処理を行う場合が多い処理です。意図しない色変化が生じるリスクはできるだけ避けたほうが良いです。早急に改善いただきたいと思います。

警告無しに文字詰めが変化する
ver.27において、マイナーバージョンリリース又はマイクロバージョンリリースにおいてオプティカルカーニングの仕様が度々変更されています。これ自体は改善の意味合いの強い対応で仕様変更と考えます。
しかし、仕様変更以前のバージョンの文字組み仕様が異なるにもかかわらず、なんの警告も無しに文字組みが変化します。こういったケースではユーザーに注意を促す警告を表示するべきでしょう。再現手順
1. Illustrator ver.26.5にてエリア内文字を作成し文字間のカーニングを「オプティカル」に設定し、均等配置を指定する。
2.Illustrator2020形式で保存する。
3.Illustrator ver.27.9で開いてTツールを用いてエリア内文字にカーソルを入れるか、テキスト自体を移動する。
4.カーニングの状態が変化する。期待する結果
カーニングが変化する際は警告を表示する。実際の結果
なんの警告もなくカーニングが変化する。理想を言えば、既存のファイルに対して新しいカーニング値を自動的に適用せずに以前と全く同じ表示にするのが良いですが、仕様の変更自体は改善の意味合いが強く、仕方ない面もあるかと思います。しかし、編集しているユーザーが、この変化に気が付かない事によりデータトラブルを誘発する可能性もあります。
これは2022の最終バージョンが書き出す2020形式のファイルでも起こる挙動です。影響を受けるファイルは相当数存在するはずですから、せめて警告が表示されるようにしていただきたいと思います。20 votes -
均等配置したエリア内文字をポイント文字に切り換えると開始位置がずれる
エリア内文字が均等配置で設定されている場合、ポイント文字に切り換えるとエリア内文字のエリアの半分開始位置がシフトする。

1. Tツールをドラッグしてエリア内文字を作成・入力する。
2. 段落パネルにて1のエリア内文字に均等配置（どれでも良い）を設定
3. 「書式→ポイント文字に切り換え」を実行。
4. ポイント文字に変更されるが、開始位置がシフトする。期待する結果

Opacity for list objects (bulleted or numbered) lost after closing a file
When you reduce the opacity of a text object that contains a list - either just a list or a list plus "normal" text, that opacity gets deleted once you have saved the file. It's not even saved into the PDF part of the file.
If you apply the opacity at the Character level or if you create an additional fill for the text object and then apply reduced opacity, it works.Version 28.3

Retype does not work at all in Czech version of Illustrator CC 2024 (28.0)
The Retype function does not work at all on Windows 10. All attempts end with the message Selection not recognized. It doesn't matter if it's a vector, a bitmap. It doesn't recognize anything. Not even Hello in Helvetica.
On MacOS 13.4.1 the app displays possible similar fonts but you can’t select them, download them, nothing. Dead end.Nice work, Adobe!

Pasting text from Microsoft Office does not work on Mac but works on PC
This has been an issue for quite a while on many different machines Mac OS version, and Illustrator versions over the years and is consistent. When copying text or vectors containing text like graphs from a Microsoft Office app like Excel, PowerPoint, or Word. Then pasting into Illustrator, the graphics and vectors are correct but the text is illegible in that it is corrupted in some way so it looks like symbols.
I know it works on Windows as this is my usual workaround in the past, but my main machine is a Mac and this is a very annoying…

Whenever I start typing a number in a text box it ALWAYS automatically makes the number SUPERSCRIPT by default.

Slanted instances are not properly sorted
When a variable font has ***** axis and right leaning instances (common oblique styles) the Oblique instances gets sorted before the Romans on the font menu dropdown. See attachment.
According to the OT spec, right leaning instances must use negative values, so I‘m guessing Adobe’s font menu is sorting instances by slnt coordinates in ascending direction when it should be in the other direction.
This is not only bad and uncommon for users but is also pushing font developers to make fonts against the spec just to circunvent this situation. Plase fix.

All Text is not visible and Can't move the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects too large issue.
I opened a project I was working on last week this morning and encountered this issue. All my text is not visible and I cannot move any text boxes without an error message coming up stating: Can't move the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects too large. I tried all the other solutions listed that could be found on Google and this forum. It happens for every project I open. I attached images of what I see and the error message.
