If I make any changes to paragraph of character styles, I cannot undo them, even if I delete a style. Changes are not registered at all as undo states. The only way to undo is to revert to a previous save.6 votes
Thanks for reporting the issue. We are able to reproduce this at our end and will look into this.
Since the Oct 2018 update, I cannot open or use the program. I see this screen (see attached). Also, I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the issue, but since the update a folder has appeared on my desktop named 'GPUCache' with 5 files inside (photo attached)4 votes
I was trying out the new quick tip that was posted on youtube for "linocut" blend lines https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCyE91-D-KI
I was trying to blend between a variety of line types and follow along with the demo and noticed that my up-to-date copy of illustrator is not doing any tip interpolation.
I downloaded the demo file from the video page and the tip blending works, but in the photo I provide shows my attempt to blend on the right and the tips are square.2 votes
Following is the result of investigation:
This issue happens with blends created when stroke with flat edge is applied to one path then later variable width profile is changed.
Workaround: Select the blend object, Release the blend, change path’s Variable width profile to Uniform, and then apply desired Variable width profile again, Now try apply Blend.
In my line of work we have "distresses" that we place over the vector image that we've created. The distresses are .tiff files and with the last update have began making the vector image disappear. When printed everything is fine. However most of the time we also have to export as a .png to send our customers a proof and we have to export several times before getting a .png we can use.1 vote
I believe this might be a bug since it crashed Illustrator rather than the script crashing gracefuly.
I have a script which, when completed, crashes Illustrator. The script runs fine when ran from within the ESTK but crashes when ran from the AI File->Scripts menu. Attached is the crash log. I cannot post the script itself here but am willing to send it to an Adobe employee privately if needed.2 votes
Thanks for sharing the script, we are able to repro the issue at our side & have forwarded it to the engineering team for further isolation.
With Best Regards,
The "Make pixel perfect" option for selected objects is missing when they are grouped, in the previous version it was easily accessible from the top right corner icons now have to dig in the Object menu.2 votes
Thanks for reporting this issue.
We are moving this under review, meanwhile what you can do is use Right Click > Make Pixel Perfect or turn on control panel from Window > Control.
Thanks & Regards
Looks like someone didn't understand (or maybe I didn't explain well enough) what the issue was with this bug that was declined. So I have recorded a video to demonstrate the issue.
As before - Windows 7, Illustrator cc18
Please follow steps in the video to recreate the bug which is causing area text boxes to extend beyond the artboard.2 votes
There's an absolutely bizarre off-by-two error in the View menu in Illustrator CC 22.0 that I just noticed while working on something today.
When initially starting Illustrator CC 22.0, the "Fit All in Window" and "Actual Size" items in the View menu have the correct labels (see attachment zoomoptscorrect.png). However, once a file has been opened, these menu items are assigned completely wrong labels, which should belong to the items two spaces lower in the menu — "Hide Edges" and "Hide Artboards", respectively (see zoomoptswrong.png).1 vote
MacOS High Sierra 10.13.1
When the Application Frame is disabled, the menu items are displayed incorrectly. The "View" menu is attached.
I have reset the preferences and the menus seemed to work fine, but when I disabled the application frame, they went crazy again.

Thanks for reporting the issue. Illustrator team appreciates this.
We are able to repro this issue at our end.
With Best Regards,
Every now and again when I import a swatch library from the presets folder via the Swatches import menu from "Other Library"; Ai would crash the first round. When I open the file again and repeat the import process, no crashes occur.
This happened with previous versions as well.
Thanks and cheers.1 vote
Meta data defined in a svg file are ignored by AI when opening file so no more available once the file is saved. Option shall allow keep or ignore meta data in an svg file to avoid broking the file.

Thanks a lot for sharing the attached file and opening this feature request. We are currently reviewing this SVG round-tripping request.
