New update (v23) crashes Illustrator consistently with Can't finish previewing or enough memory (RAM)

I'm working on macOS High Sierra 10.13.6
3.5 HGz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5
Mem 64 GB
Graphics AMD FirePro D500 3072 MB

Since updating this morning, Illustrator has consistently crashed. At a random point, it switches to outline mode, and then a dialog box opens and states, "Cannot finish previewing" –– and then every time I try to switch out of outline-mode, it fails, and brings up the same dialog box, and I have seconds before it crashes altogether.

I'm able to still save and close the file. But when I try to re-open it, it says it does not have enough memory and that I can't open the illustration. When I quit Illustrator, and re-open it, then it works. Then the outline mode issue occurs, and I have to restart again. I'll try a CPU reboot to see if that helps.

NOTE: This issue happens on Microsoft Windows as well

We have the fix available in the latest release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 23.0.1

    CC 2019 that i installed 2 days ago have the same issue. Just renew my subscription but I have no product to work with.
    Pretty irresponsible attitude for a company that is releasing products professionals use to deliver payed projects.

    This issue has not been resolved. Some days, Illustrator is working fine. And some days, it keeps crashing because of not enough memory. Unfortunately happening today. Please get this resolved! Work needs to be finished!

    At random times for reasons unknown, I have having these same issues. "Cannot finish previewing" then everything goes to outline mode and I can't get it to reverse. I have to force quit and lose all my work. I have down graded to older versions, they all do the same thing. I am also on the newest Macbook Pro and it can handle the workload. This is VERY frustrating...I would expect this issue from a free piece of software but we all know Adobe isn't free at all...this HAS to get fixed.

    Hey guys, I was struggling with the same issue with my artwork showing only the outlines. But I fixed it after clicking the View tap and then clicking on the View Preview tab. I hope it helps!!

    I've been this problem for an hour. Opened Creative Cloud destop app, clicked "Open" in the App list. Not crashing now or switching to preview mode. I did lose all my work...but I'm up and running again.

    I have the same problem - im working on a brand new Macbook Pro - this is the only file currently on this laptop so memory isn't an issue. I am also working with a Radeon Pro 560x Graphics card yet the problem still occurs.

    I was thinking about difference between my workstation in my work and at home. Only difference is that i am on cable connection at work and Im using Wifi at home. I disabled Wifi and Illustrator opened in normal way. I opened project and did some stuff and it havent crashed. I even reenabled Wifi.
    It works fine now.
    But if I reopen it with enabled Wifi it will crash again...
    In other words - disable wifi for opening Illustrator, then you can enable it and work just like every other day. Stupid solution but it works :)
    It still needs an update tho, it cant be like that all the time.

    Cuurently running Adobe Illustrator v.23.01: crashed during lengthy operation on 35MB-size file; will not reopen (crashes after splash screen); restart doesn't correct problem; unable to use app at all.

    Stable program now beginning to crash immediately on open. This issue is also affecting ID files with any linking .ai files.

    Same problem here. It worked fine yesterday and even today for most of the day. At the evening tho it started to crash repeadetly more-less 15 seconds after opening any project (or even only "blank" Illustrator). This is serious because Illustrator is my main "tool" as a DTP operator. I am using Adobe products since forever and i didnt had any big problems, until now...

    Adding a comment to the below as I am experiencing the same issue = AI closing/crashing within 10 seconds of opening or opening a file. No message - just vanishes. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, cleaned Creative Cloud.... restarted, shut down.... every possible machination of trying to fix this. PLEASE HELP!!

    This is not completed as was marked by Ashutosh Chaturvedi more than two months ago. This is an ongoing problem that frustrates paying customers. I've been using Illustrator for 26 years and I have never been more dissatisfied with Adobe.

    PLZ DO SOMETHING ABOBE!

    My AI starts to crash and quit today. After I open it, it crashed in 30 sec.
    I restarted computer, not working.
    I uninstalled and reinstalled it, not working.
    It's driving me crazy, please fix it.
    It worked well yesterday, I don't know what's going on.

    PLS HELP ME I NEED TO WORK!!!!

    manually went to check for updates and came back saying that the software is up to date yet it's will 23.0...

    Totally not fixed - I'm running the latest update and just lost hours of work. very frustrating
