Return feature constraint proportion while holding shift;
I often wish Adobe employes used Illustrator themselves. I'd like them to experience having their preferences reset to default with even minor upgrades, spending an hour adjusting the shortcut keys to work like a mac, and now that I've had a chance to vent a little, the latest offense:
The ability to proportionally scale objects by holding shift while dragging is ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL to my workflow mixing photos and raster art into an illustration to the point I'm using Sketch more and more while wondering how this bug got out and I hope a fix is on the way soon.
It's exactly these experiences with Illustrator and Photoshop reliability, speed, and disregarding my preferences which have me experimenting more with Sketch, and I really find XD to very promising (it's a 1.0, it doesn't support sticky, that will come) but my past experience with lackluster interface considerations makes me unwilling to commit to much. That would be true of any 1.0 though.
Same problem as Josephine below: cannot use my direct selection tool to scale--went to your adobe tutorials video (below) to see what I was doing wrong in this new version and I'm trying to do exactly as is described in your tutorial (by the way I've been using illustrator for about 15 years so I'm not a total idiot). It doesn't work..This is really affecting my work flow..so stupid.
Hi! I have the exact same problem - Yesterday I updated to illustrator 23.0.2 and since then I can not use the direct selection tool and scale objects like before (which was very easy). PLEASE help me fix this?
