Vectors getting quite distorted creating svgs of logos even with 5 decimal places and no minify. I've had to copy and paste into Sketch then export svgs from there, not ideal at all.6 votes
When you place an image into a document the resolution is shown correctly, but if you rotate it, Illustrator continue to consider original pixel width and height as if image was not rotated.
- Import new 800x400px @72dpi image.
- Illustrator shows correctly 72ppi.
- Rotate it 90°.
- Illustrator now shows 144x36ppi, as if image size was 800w x 400h but it was stretched to 400w x 800h (so 800/400 = 2x -> 144 and 400/800 = 0.5x -> 36).6 votes
Thank you for reporting the issue. We have added the issue to our backlog.
With Best Regards,
Exporting SVG on Illustrator CC 2019 23.0.2 on MacOS 10.14.3 is giving inconsistent results in regards to text. I am trying to export a file as an SVG with Font option set to SVG. However, the SVG file exported has some texts converted to paths or outlines and some texts are preserved as texts, which is what is desired. We have also tried this under Illustrator CC 2019 23.0.1 on Windows 10 Home with same results. We have included a sample file for you to test.3 votes
We were able to confirm the issue that you see. The issue indeed does not happen with Illustrator 2018 (22.1).
We identified hyphenation as the potential culprit. To workaround the issue, either disable hyphenation in the Paragraph panel or make sure text does not get hyphenated.
We are sorry that you experience the issue and are working on fixing the issue.

When Save in the background checkbox is checked, saving the document using the script, gives an error operation was cancelled and the automation process stop. But if uncheck this setting everything works fine. This happens when we show our custom progress bar dialog. So I think progress bar dialog is interfering with the process of saving the document in the background. Could you please look into this issue and see what can be done for this at your end?1 vote
Hi Charu, thanks for the feedback. Currently, Background Save is not supported via scripts. That is why you are getting an error. Enabling scripting support is in our backlog.
We have tried to import correct SVG with RTL text. The SVG looks ok in browsers(Chrome, FireFox). If we just open the SVG file in Adobe Illustrator the RTL text will be shifted to the right. As we see Adobe Illustrator pre-processes SVG but the result looks incorrectly. Are there some specifics of RTL processing that we can take into account? We aspect to see the same SVG rendering as in browsers. (see attached file : as SVG files can not be attached, I've replaced .svg with .txt)1 vote
Thanks a lot for bringing this issue to our attention. We can confirm the issue and added it to our backlog.
