Stroke stays black even when changing colour
Stroke stays black even when colour is changed. Only way to make it another colour is to expand appearance, which means losing original unless saved off the artboard

Illustrator input and tools unresponsive when switching between apps
Illustrator input and tools unresponsive when switching between apps. If you click on the stroke, you can't type in the input. Type highlight is grey, not blue showing that something is keeping the selection from being active.

Update link
After I updated the 2020 version of the apps, illustrator started to fail. When I modify a photoshop file it takes several minutes to update on illustrator and my computer stops working. It takes like 5 minutes to update the link so i can keep working, before this version the update was automatic.

Can't save or Save As on new file in Illustrator
Using latest Catalina and latest Illustrator. I have 2 files open. One is an existing file which has been changed. I hit Save, but the file name continues to show the asterisk indicating that it needs to be saved. The other file is new and has not yet been saved. I go to Save As, get the beachball for a few seconds, then nothing. I can't save the file. Save a Copy also fails.

eyedropper does not pick brushes
the eyedropper tool will not pick up and the selected brush that was applied to another line.

All tools and actions are slow and lagging, random selection in Ilustrator 2020
All tools lagging. cursor selects items randomly and drags them around when non having been selected. Illustrator 2020 CC installed

Gradient issue on import
When exporting PDFs from indesign that contain a gradient, then opening the PDF into illustrator, the gradient completely vanishes. Tried placing the PDF into illustrator and it previews but if embedded or flattened, it disappears. Tried straight copy and paste form indesign into illustrator and nothing. This has never been an issue before and is required when printing as clients often supply indesign files and the print RIP requires illustrator etc. etc.

Scroll on hover over unselected tools or library panels not working in 2020 release.
Prior to the 2020 release of Illustrator, when I was working in a document (with my various tools panels and CC Library panel docked to the side of the page) I could have my artboard/artwork selected and hover my mouse over a tools pane or library and scroll to see my options (without clicking to select that pane.) Now it doesn't seem to work anymore. I have to click on whichever tools pane or the library pane to activate it before I can begin scrolling through the options. Average Path Behavior changed in Illustrator 2020
It's pretty simple. Press the key command for Path/Average. The dialog pops up. Options are Both, Horizontal, or Vertical. The way it used to work was that you could press the cursor key on your keyboard for up, just once and it would land on vertical. Press again for Horizontal. But in 2020, it's different. Press "up" arrow once for Vertical. Press again and it remains on Vertical. Cancel the whole window and start over. new version, will hang for no reason....

After latest update, Illustrator opens and is half off-screen. It is frozen there and can't be moved or resized, and menus are often missing
It would be great if the program would open and actually be usable. With half of the program off-screen, and being unable to move or resize it, I can't get my work done.

Free transform tool is broken
When using the free transform tool to resize a text box, the transform isn't smooth, it jumps by huge amounts when dragging, and produces completely unpredictable results. After that, the outline of the text box disappears, but is still selected.

First click is lost when focusing the window
Windows, when Illustrator isn't focused, clicking inside the window, the click is lost, another click is needed to perform the intended action. Annoying, because the second click is treated as double click.
To reproduce:
Open Illustrator and move the window to the left. Open another program, for example a text editor. Clicking in the illustrator window over a text (with the intent of copying the text causes just focusing the window, the text itself isn't selected. Only the second click selects the text.2 votes -
Action bug
Illustrator 2020 doesn't allow my action to work. I created an action that runs a script from the script menu, but cannot use nor record a new action that runs a script.

Illustrator's fonts are not displaying
When I type something, the character panel does not show any fonts as an option. I have tried the dropdown menu to no avail. I found a work around a couple days ago but cannot remember what it was!
