  1. Clipping mask not working

    When I try to create a clipping mask with a photo and a vector shape nothing happens. I draw a circle over the photo and use shortcut Ctrl+7 and absolutely nothing happens.

  2. Eraser or Blob Brush tools’ sizes are not adjustable with double-click anymore

    I can't change the dimensions of drawing tools such as the Eraser or Blob Brush tool with double-click anymore and there seems to be no shortcut or any other option to get here, even typing 'eraser' in the help section doesn't show anything.

  3. Eraser not making consecutive strokes

    For a while now th eraser is not working properly and it's bugging the **** out of me, it's one of the main tools I use when drawing. Both with a pen and a mouse, both when zoomed in and out - it works for one or two strokes, then after that just won't erase anything until either I deselect/select the object or hit undo. Then it will work for one or two paths again and then I have to repeat the same step. The erasing box - alt and drag while the eraser tool is selected, works always, but…

  4. Adobe Illustrator CC 22.1 ME cannot change stroke weight to 0.25 - 0.5 - 0.75 chosing from relevan panel

    If I chose from stroke panel 0.25 or 0.5 or 0.75 stroke weight, then I obtain 25 or 5 or 75 stroke weight line!!
    If I manually type on relevant fileld box 0,25 or 0,5 or 0,75 then I got correctly weight line. The problem may be that Illustrator ME doesn't recognize full stop "." but comma "," only. How can i fix this issue? Thank you

  5. creating a simple box crashes the software

    More often than not when I go to create a simple box Illustrator crashes forcing me to FORCE QUIT the software and try again.

  6. Transform grayed out

    Very frequently (might be even 50 percent of the time) when I select an object the "Transform" and "Arrange" options in the "Object" menu (as well as the associated keystrokes) are grayed out as unavailable. When I deselect the menu and then select the menu again the "Transform" and "Arrange" options have magically become available. Selecting the menu a second time always "fixes" this.

  7. Illustrator-specific MS Surface Wheel options have disappeared

    Arrange, artboard and other illustrator Surface Wheel tool shortcuts have disappeared, and have been replaced with the OS standard ones.

  8. "Envelope distort > Make with top object" is warping/distorting text.

    I've seen this issue in a lot of online forums, but found no answer. I'm using the CC trial version, fairly new to Illustrator.

    Online tutorials show users creating a shape > typing text > converting text to outline > move shape to front > selecting shape and text > Object > Envelope Distort > Make with Top Object. It shapes the text perfectly to shape, without distorting the font or curving the letters.

    But when I follow these steps, but my text always comes out wavy and distorted within the shape. I've tried Envelope Options and deselecting "Distort Appearance"…

  9. Tools all become 'locked' requiring reboot (of Illustrator, not OS)

    Windows 10, March 2018 Illustrator (latest).

    This has happened maybe five or six times now, I think only since the latest update, apparently random occurrence (or I can't spot a common theme). Working on an unlocked layer, all drawing tools get a 'not available' symbol next to them. Can select objects in the layers panel but nowhere else. The only fix is to restart Illustrator - just closing and reopening the document (or indeed another document) does not unlock the tools.

  11. Inaccurate paths

    Good day

    Before the big update back in 2017, Illustrator's paths were very accurate in terms of using pathfinder tools and intense zooming in. I'm not sure what the new updates were, but it's frustrating.

    Attached are screenshots of what I'm talking about. I punched 2 objects (namely black colour and green colour), using the exact same ellipse that I copied and pasted in front. I used to do this all the time, but with better results. Now it's as if it purposely goes out of the accuracy it once had. I'm zoomed in all the way with these screenshots.

  12. Brush won't change to basic

    When drawing in cc 2018 on macOS High Sierra version 10.13.4. Program will not allow me to select basic brush. it defaults to 3pt round or a bristle brush. If I delete that brush it won't allow to draw anything. Need to restart and still won't allow me to select basic brush.

  13. Drag, alt, and resizing are all working incorrectly & create new non-existent objects

    Items I select and resize seem to adjust from arbitrary points that appear, unrelated to the shape of the geometry. Attached, is a screenshot where I changed the scale of the blue diamond. The other green selected box doesn't actually exist, but is now included in the geometry of the original. If you group an object which has one of these phantoms, it will stay in the group indefinitely. Additionally, the alt-drag feature creates many duplicates. If you're scaling using the alt-command, it will work for a second and then start duplicating.

  14. Illustrator CC (multiple versions) stroke alignment error when rectangle is set to a certain size

    I have tried this across multiple computers that have Illustrator CC at different updates (mine is 21.1.0) & get the same result every time.

    If you create a rectangle that is at least 48" w x 120" h, set the stroke to 0.25pt, no fill, align the stroke to the inside and the review the bottom left corner an error appears. The bottom part of the path tapers from the correct thickness to no thickness from right to left. It seems to go away if you make the stroke slightly thicker or if you make the rectangle smaller. Not sure…

  15. Rotation tool doesn't stick while I try to change the anchor point

    Rotate tool doesnt work poperly. After I try to change the anchor point. Nothing happens.

  16. compound path

    Hi. When i make compound path and give it a gradient and rotate it manually by 180 degrees everything is ok. When this object i rotate back by 180 degrees also everything is ok (gradient back to original 0 degrees). This how it should works. But when i save file and open it again this rotated object is "damaged" when i try to rotate it by 180 degrees this gradient dont rotate but it should. This happens only when i save file and open it again. All guys in my team have same problem with gradients in compound path.

  18. Object drawing error

    When I click and drag to draw an object such as a rectangle or ellipse I get a wild error where Illustrator tries to draw all of the intermediary steps in between. I gives me an unknown error, and if you look in the layers palette you can see that it is actually drawing lots of objects rather than the one I'm intending to draw. I have attached a gif of what is happening.

  19. Artboard Tool button crashes Illustrator

    I'm trying to put this in the "Illustrator Bugs" category, but the button I have to click says "Post idea". Apologies if this is in the wrong area.

    Every time I click the artboard button Illustrator crashes.

    I'm using a 2017 iMac
    Illustrator version 22.0.1

    I've been having the same problem since the last time I updated Illustrator (several months). Doing research in the trouble shooting forum leads me to believe this has been a problem since October 2017.

    No one had posted a solution in the forum.

    I spent a while on Adobe's website searching for the appropriate phone…

  20. zoom

    the shortcut for the zoom "space + Cmd + opt" is broken... It's a selection's tool which appears, I don't change my shurtcuts.
