  1. Illustrator-specific MS Surface Wheel options have disappeared

    Arrange, artboard and other illustrator Surface Wheel tool shortcuts have disappeared, and have been replaced with the OS standard ones.

  2. "Envelope distort > Make with top object" is warping/distorting text.

    I've seen this issue in a lot of online forums, but found no answer. I'm using the CC trial version, fairly new to Illustrator.

    Online tutorials show users creating a shape > typing text > converting text to outline > move shape to front > selecting shape and text > Object > Envelope Distort > Make with Top Object. It shapes the text perfectly to shape, without distorting the font or curving the letters.

    But when I follow these steps, but my text always comes out wavy and distorted within the shape. I've tried Envelope Options and deselecting "Distort Appearance"…

  3. Tools all become 'locked' requiring reboot (of Illustrator, not OS)

    Windows 10, March 2018 Illustrator (latest).

    This has happened maybe five or six times now, I think only since the latest update, apparently random occurrence (or I can't spot a common theme). Working on an unlocked layer, all drawing tools get a 'not available' symbol next to them. Can select objects in the layers panel but nowhere else. The only fix is to restart Illustrator - just closing and reopening the document (or indeed another document) does not unlock the tools.

  5. Brush won't change to basic

    When drawing in cc 2018 on macOS High Sierra version 10.13.4. Program will not allow me to select basic brush. it defaults to 3pt round or a bristle brush. If I delete that brush it won't allow to draw anything. Need to restart and still won't allow me to select basic brush.

  6. Drag, alt, and resizing are all working incorrectly & create new non-existent objects

    Items I select and resize seem to adjust from arbitrary points that appear, unrelated to the shape of the geometry. Attached, is a screenshot where I changed the scale of the blue diamond. The other green selected box doesn't actually exist, but is now included in the geometry of the original. If you group an object which has one of these phantoms, it will stay in the group indefinitely. Additionally, the alt-drag feature creates many duplicates. If you're scaling using the alt-command, it will work for a second and then start duplicating.

  7. Illustrator CC (multiple versions) stroke alignment error when rectangle is set to a certain size

    I have tried this across multiple computers that have Illustrator CC at different updates (mine is 21.1.0) & get the same result every time.

    If you create a rectangle that is at least 48" w x 120" h, set the stroke to 0.25pt, no fill, align the stroke to the inside and the review the bottom left corner an error appears. The bottom part of the path tapers from the correct thickness to no thickness from right to left. It seems to go away if you make the stroke slightly thicker or if you make the rectangle smaller. Not sure…

  8. Rotation tool doesn't stick while I try to change the anchor point

    Rotate tool doesnt work poperly. After I try to change the anchor point. Nothing happens.

  10. Object drawing error

    When I click and drag to draw an object such as a rectangle or ellipse I get a wild error where Illustrator tries to draw all of the intermediary steps in between. I gives me an unknown error, and if you look in the layers palette you can see that it is actually drawing lots of objects rather than the one I'm intending to draw. I have attached a gif of what is happening.

  11. Artboard Tool button crashes Illustrator

    I'm trying to put this in the "Illustrator Bugs" category, but the button I have to click says "Post idea". Apologies if this is in the wrong area.

    Every time I click the artboard button Illustrator crashes.

    I'm using a 2017 iMac
    Illustrator version 22.0.1

    I've been having the same problem since the last time I updated Illustrator (several months). Doing research in the trouble shooting forum leads me to believe this has been a problem since October 2017.

    No one had posted a solution in the forum.

    I spent a while on Adobe's website searching for the appropriate phone…

  12. Cmd + Opt + Space to call Zoom tool is broken

    The shortcut for the Zoom, "Space + Cmd + Opt" is broken... It's a selection's tool which appears, I don't change my shortcuts.

  13. rotate tool

    The rotate tool's anchor point won't stay were I place it when I go to the dialogue box to rotate in degrees.

    I updated my Mac OS yesterday and since the update this tool hasn't worked.
    I have the latest version of Illustartor 22.0.1.

  15. Crash in Illustrator CC 2018 while using Wacom

    After copy paste selected type tool, rotate tool and then again type tool with wacom. It resulted in crash on my mac.

  16. Bug With Blend tool with check preview mode and text in CC 2018 on Mac and PC

    In Illustrator CC 2018, when you want to modify a shape gradient by passing it in step with check preview mode. The software crashes every time. I tested on PC and Mac with different windows and OS, and each time the software crashes.

  17. Unable to move anything once placed within Adobe Illustrator

    I am using the latest version of Adobe Illustrator, i have restarted both my computer and my program numerous times and the issue persists. I am unable to move anything once placed on the Illustrator workspace. the only thing it allows me to do is to resize the objects but not move them.

    It is really frustrating when you come across issues like this which just interrupt workflow preventing you from doing the simplest actions. I am sure there is a fix but I don't have the understanding to know how to fix the issue and the majority of forums…

  18. Style Menu in Warp Options panel not opening.

    CC2018 in OSX.11

    When I click on OBJECT/ENVELOPE DISTORT/MAKE WITH WARP when an object is selected I cannot open the STYLE menu in the WARP OPTIONS box. I click on the menu and only ARC is available, menu does not open.

  19. Illustrator CC 2018 Crashes when using Specified Steps (Blend Tool)

    I'm having a problem in the 2018 version of Illustrator when using Specified Steps under the Blend Tool. The problem occurs when I click preview in the Blend Options box after selecting Specified Steps. Upon clicking preview a progress box pops up that says "Reading Illustrator File" and basically sits there. When I loose patience and close out, the whole program shuts down. I've never experienced this before in any previous version of illustrator and was hoping someone could help shed some light on the issue. Thanks in advance.

  20. Anchor Point Tool can create shape so huge, not enough memory to Undo

    I was using the Anchor Point Tool to add handles to an anchor point (using mouse pointer to click and drag handles into existence), and suddenly, the shape stroke line shot off the artboard into virtual oblivion (apparently a gigantic loop causing a massively huge shape). When I tried to Undo (Ctrl-Z) a message box popped up saying "The operation cannot complete because there isn't enough memory (RAM) available."

    I f'ing lost several hours of work because I had to close Illustrator and not save ('cuz I was afraid it would reload into the same condition, thus destroying many [MANY]…
