1. Opacity mask not working with freeform gradients

   I am trying to make an opacity map with a freeform gradient. It previews correctly but as soon as i try to leave the dialog box it goes completely white. Doing exacly the same thing with the same objects but with a regular gradient instead works just fine.

2. CMYK Colors change by themselves randomly

   Watch as I simply keep trying to specify a color in a CMYK document. Simply changing the hex code, then deselecting the element, then double click the fill box to open the color, and sometimes it stays, sometimes it changes. I change it, it changes again. I need this to work 100% I can't have colors randomly changing on me after I specify them. I can also trace similar color problems back since v6 or so - had many color inconsistencies between illustrator versions, this constant color shift battle has to be fixed

3. Complicated Swatches not adding to palette

   Working in Mojave 10.14.6 on a iMac 2017, 3.5Hz

   I needed to alter a swatch I had made using vector artwork I have drawn, the swatch was created in Illustrator 2017, and though complex, had no issues being added to the swatch palette, or used. I had edited it a few times to get the elements into the right place and adding it back to the Swatch palette.
   I tried editing in Illustrator 2020, which we have been running across our Macs fo the last few days, and it will not add back in. I can drag it out, but even though it looks to be adding back in when I drag it back, it doesn't appear. I tried a simple swatch, no issue. I restarted and it still won't add in. I had to go back to Illustrator 2017 to make the change and add the swatch back in.

5. Gradient panel causes bugs

   The gradient panel really makes me nervous. On rare occasions when dropping a color onto a gradient handle to change it, Illustrator suddenly just closes without a warning. Just gone in a split second along with all my work. No auto save. Nothing. It even won't show my recently opened files when I open it back up. This issue also happened the last time Illustrator was updated but then it was fixed. Please fix it again as I'm always SUPER nervous when I have to change settings for a gradient. I have no idea on how to reproduce this, other than just sitting an drag/dropping colors onto the gradient handles and "hope" for it to crash.

6. Pasting a hexadecimal color code into the Fill or Stroke under properties > appearance occasionally causes Illustrator to freeze up

   1. MacOS 10.14.5 (18F132)
   2. Select an object (for example, a rectangle), in the properties panel, under the appearance heading, select either fill or stroke, and paste a hex code into the textbox at the bottom of the popup panel. Occasionally, this results in Illustrator freezing, and can only be fixed by force-quitting.

7. Colors in vector art cannot be changed unless all old swatches are deleted first

   If I want to change certain colors in a vector illustration, I cannot just go into edit colors > recolor artwork and change them. I must first delete the original swatches and then change the colors or else the colors will revert back to their original values. I think that old swatches should be unlinked from artwork if they are changed.

8. Recolor Artwork stops working if more than one document is open

   If I have two documents open, I am unable to use Recolor Artwork under Color Guide. It just stops working. Nothing happens when I pull the sliders, click to randomly change the color order or click on color groups. It's broken.

   Everything turns back to normal when I close the other document.

9. Color palette overrides fill colors and color modes in Illustrator 2018

   Hi, I am a design professor and most students in my class experienced a specific problem when we were doing an exercise to learn how to apply the correct color palettes to different logo files. Specifically, we created fictional identity designs as a means to learn how to create a production-ready bundle of files (a logo with versions in b&w, spot color (Pantone), 4-color process, and RGB). Almost 100% of my 18 students had their 4-color process file -- which was filled with CMYK colors upon designing, and should have stayed CMYK -- show up as being filled with RGB when opened after having been closed.

   Through testing this unusual pattern of error across all of their files, it appears that Adobe Illustrator will choose to show colors in the color palette that was last opened within the application, and if the palette isn't the same as the fill colors, it creates a color translation of what the color should be into what it want to show you. Stated another way, the students had trouble getting the color palette to hold the color information they entered (percentages/values of either CMYK or RGB, in particular). Regardless of what they had entered, a computer with one or the other of these color palettes open would override their settings. Unacceptable. In one case, I also witnessed a student manually enter RGB values, only to deselect the item, select the object again, and then find different RGB values in place than those I watched him enter. In 19 years of teaching, I've never seen this problem be so widespread across student files.

   For what it's worth, the Pantone palette behaved. The problem specifically is between RGB and CYMK colors/color palettes. PLEASE FIX THIS. This will cause major problems in real projects that rely upon color mode accuracy. Please contact me with information about the problem and/or solution. We would appreciate a follow-up.

10. Applying 'line' freeform gradient crashes Illustrator

    Trying to change any freeform gradient's 'Draw' setting from 'Points' to 'Lines' results in an immediate crash, no matter what shape it's being applied to.

    I have uninstalled/reinstalled Illustrator multiple times, and completely reset all user configuration settings, and this behavior remains unchanged.

    Illustrator version: 23.0.6
    OS: macOS Mojave, version 10.14.6

    Doesn’t happen anymore in recent builds

11. Recolor not working on items within a clipping mask

    Items inside of clipping masks do not get recolored like they used to using the Recolor tool. You have to directly select them now and manually recolor.

12. Illustrator not selecting color from CC color library

    I am using MacOS Mojave 10.14.15 and recently updated illustrator to 23.0.4.
    I've noticed that I unable to change my foreground/background color from selecting from my CC color library panel.

13. Stroke/Fill Selection From Library

    1. Windows 10 Pro 10.0.17763 Build 17763
    2. I change the stroke color in appearance menu from library (created in Adobe Colours), which at first works, if I the for the same element or a different element in my graphic try to change the fill from the library, it will still change the stroke. Happens vise versa as well with fill first. Sometimes it resets if I do some other operation in between and I can suddenly change the other colour fill/stroke, but its irratic. But always depends on first action.

14. CC Library Colours automatically adding themselves to Swatches when used

    Hey there,

    My team and I have recently noticed an error occurring when using the CC Colour Library.

    When selecting an object and then a CC registered colour, we get an error message that states: "A different colour with the same name already exists in your document. Please rename this colour to use it in this document."

    What we have noticed is that the colour automatically adds itself to swatches the first time you use it in a new document and then this error pops up every time. As such, how can we disable this function so that this doesn't occur?

    I am using a Microsoft Surface on Windows 10 Pro version 1803 and the latest Adobe CC while my colleague is using a Dell Inspiron 5379, with Windows 10 Pro version 1803 as well as the latest Adobe CC.

    This error has just started occurring and we have not changed anything about our computers....

    We expect to be able to select a colour in the Library and not have this error occur.

15. Mirrored objects with freeform gradient applied loose their fill

    When drawing a picture of several parts, each of which is filled with freeform gradient there is a problem as soon as you select the entire object gradient disappears on one of the parts or strays

16. Global colours don't seem to be preserved in freeform gradients

    I have complex files that are made up of multiple gradients to create a 3D effect. Some of the gradients are linear and some are freeform. I am currently in the process of creating artwork files for both print and digital. To create the digital files I am converting all the files to RGB. There is a specific brand colour that has a different RGB make up than the standard conversion. I thought, no problem, I'll just update the global colour swatch and it should cascade through. But it doesn't! It does on the linear gradients, but not on the freeform gradients. In fact despite going through and linking all the points to specific global swatches, once I save the file, close it and reopen it again, or copy the elements into another file, the freeform gradients seem to completely forget the global swatches. As you can imagine this is very frustrating and currently doubling my workload!

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

17. Pantone Solid Spot colors added from InDesign to a CC Library become Magenta Process colors in Illustrator

    A Pantone Solid Spot color (or any Lab spot color) added to a CC library in InDesign will become 100% Magenta CMYK Process color in the Swatches panel when added from the CC library by double clicking in Illustrator.

18. GPU performance color

    Illustrator CC 2019
    Mojave 10.14.1

    Bright RGB red/pink appearing correctly in swatch, but washed out when filling a shape with same colour on artboard.

    Only way I've found to fix this is to turn off GPU performance and the colour then appears bright and correct, but with GPU off live drawing is very laggy.

    Any fix for this??

19. saving colors to adobe is disabled please contact your IT administrator

    Illustrator 23.0.2 (64bit) and Windows 10 Versions 1809 OS Build 17763.379

    This has happened numerous times over the past few months.

    I try to create a new custom Adobe Color Theme in Illustrator. I am not able to do so and am given the error message:

    "saving colors to adobe is disabled please contact your IT administrator"

    I have tried restarting the program and signing out and signing back into my Adobe Creative Cloud but the problem remains.
