Illustrator (Desktop) Bugs

  1. Export Artboards "Name" Error

    I exported first one Artboard of 2 or 3 in the beginnning of a design process, the changed the names in the end of all 3 artboards to the projectname. The first artboard still kept the original name ("artboard 01" or else) so i had to rename by hand this file. Pretty weird.

  2. Export JPG/PNG(any format) in same folder of AI file (like before)

    Hello, since update (CC 2018 22.0.0), when I do file>export> as jpeg, the file location is the last used and not the same as the AI file just open.

    This can seems not important for you, but I do this 40x per day and now it's a waste of time. In CC 2017 this was ok.

    I have to browse all the folders on local network .. to find my folder and it's boooooring.

    There is no setting for this in preferences.

  3. Unable to export Artboards as SVG

    The AI does export to SVG. I have used this constantly in the previous version, but the new version will not save the image in SVG format using the Export for Screens option.

  4. Unable to export PNG higher than 72ppi

    "Export As" command will not export PNG files any higher than 72 ppi. Even when I set it to export at 300 ppi, it still exports at 72.
    Please fix this!

  5. Image Not Visible/Blank When Placing EPS Files into new file

    I use a program called Separation Studio to separate raster images into spot colors. I then open up a new Illustrator file, click file -> place -> select the eps file created from Separation Studio, and the image that is placed is blank. This was not an issue with any versions of Illustrator. In previous versions, you were able to see the image that was placed and even change/alter the spot colors that were brought in.   6. Cannot open file with Bridge

    I am using the latest version of Illustrator, CC2017.
    Often, an Illustrator file will not open with Bridge. Bridge is also the latest version. CC2017. Initially, files will open normally.

    No other application has this problem.

  7. SVG files scaling issue

    At the opening, AI does not take in consideration a transform define in a <use /> in a SVG file and all elements defined in this section have wriong scale (see displayingissue.png). This is not obsevable in any web browser and competitor tool. In attachement, inital SVG file and the file modified (*_AI.svg) to get correct displaying in AI.

    I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 23.0.6 which is available worldwide now.

    Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

  9. TIFF's generate Color Management Error in MacOS High Sierra.

    When in macOS Sierra I can drag or import any TIFF without any issues or errors. My colors on screen are rich and vibrant and darker.

    When in MacOS High Sierra I do the same thing I get a Color Management Error, and all my colors are faded and lighter.

  10. Unable to import SVG textPath

    Illustrator is able to export SVGs using the <textPath> element for use in browsers. However, it is unable to import SVGs using the <textPath> element - instead of importing them properly, it puts each glyph in the appropriate position along the path, but it doesn't rotate the glyphs.

    The workaround is to generate SVGs with "expanded" outlines for text, but this leads to much larger SVG files, with a loss of editability.
