Ver 23.03 Adding text deletes new layer
When I create a new layer, and select the Type tool and create a new character or type element, AI automatically deletes my new layer and adds the text to a locked layer that I previously created.

Type size not working after scaling text with transform/scale
After selecting a line of type with the selection tool, and then scaling it with right click, transform / scale / 'percentage' , I can then no longer assign different type sizes in pixels or points to the text using the text tool.

Character/Paragraph panels - lazy and/or incorrect updating
Illustrator 23.0.3 on Win10
It is vitally important to me that the Character and Paragraph panels tell me the truth at all times: an accurate description of the properties in play based on the selected text or the cursor position if nothing is selected.
I constantly run into the problem where I select a line of text and the 'space before' and 'space after' controls in the Paragraph panel are completely wrong. Clicking the up/down arrows on the controls will change the displayed (wrong) value, and the text will suddenly leap to god-knows-where, rather than the desired "up or down…

Missing fonts issue
It's not reading Adobe fonts. It keeps saying to activate the font every time I open a document. The program hangs trying to activate a font, making the file not work properly "without" a font that was perviously activated.

Tilde shows up in text box
Illustrator CC 23.0.3 Precision 5820 Tower,Intel Xeon W2102
16 GB RAM, 64 bit, Win 10 ProWorking with any text box, the tilde character shows up at insertion point. Even if no typing is happening.

illustrator when I try to type something it is shown with some prepared text
when i try to click the T button to creat new text, it is shown already made some text example with has tag. This has tag is hidden and if I click "show hidden character" it is shown with # . Can I start with completely blind text function without this suggested pre-made alphabet arrangement looks like some word (but doesn't make sense, it is just look like preview of the text).

Typing French
I am having an issue typing French accents in Illustrator. For some reason the accents are not appearing above the letter but beside it. ê is how it should look but in illustrator the accent would be to the left of the e. Am i doing something wrong? option + i then the letter... etc

Variable Font Rendering Distorts Master
I'm getting some weird things happening with a 4-axis font I'm working on.
Illustrator seems to mangle the outlines for some of the masters. I realize this font is doing some weird stuff, but hoping for some clarification if it's a bug in Illustrator or my font. It appears correctly on the web though, on Axis Praxis(Chrome).
I'm attaching the ttf. It only has an 'H' glyph present. If it's helpful, there's more information about the typeface and intentions at the link below. This issue is related to an upcoming version which isn't available yet. https://www.futurefonts.xyz/scribble-tone/whoa

Issues changing type character properties
I have been having issues for a few weeks with illustrator not showing correct font or size. It used to be sporadic, but now it is happening the majority of the time! I even updated my Illustrator CC version & that didn't help.
For example, I will click on some text that is Gotham 15 pt, but the character panel says it is Myriad 12 pt. When I try changing the font or the font size, nothing happens.
It is getting to the point where I am not able to edit text size or font in my own files. Help!

Text will not change fill colour to what has been selected
WIndows 10, Illustrator 23.0.3: After selecting text, I try to change the fill colour either using the eyedropper tool or the swatches panel. I expect the text to change to that colour. However, while the colour window shows the colour has been changed, the text doesn't actually change colour. I have to outline the text in order to get it to change colour.

As per attached screen shot , for the selected Text object your fill is below the Characters in appearance panel.
Can you kindly move the Fill above the characters and change fill. This will hopefully resolve your problem.
In order to identify the root cause , can you kindly provide us eyedropper setting snapshot ,you can find eyedropper settings by double click on eyedropper tool .Thanks

Cannot paste text from Chrome to Illustrator
I use Wrike within Google Chrome for workflow and am given copy to use in various graphics. Since updating to 23.0.3 Illustrator does not paste from Wrike/Chrome. When I restart illustrator it sometimes goes back to normal but then randomly it will stop working later on

Millimeter setting for font size not correct! cost me $1000s in reprinting
I'm a freelance designer working for a top hair care brand which markets their products world wide. We had our entire front label product run rejected because it did not meet EU regulatory standards for ml and net weight type size. When creating the labels the first time I set my font size from points to mm to ensure I met the minimum size requirements of 3mm. Imagine my surprise when we heard from our EU distributor our product was rejected! This is where I made my mistake I trusted Adobe Illustrator program to ensure when I set a font…

Illustrator will not use Verdana.ttf
Made PDF from Bridge using Verdana.ttf. Open PDF in illustrator on same mac and it will not see the Verdana fonts, wants to change them to an OTF version which is not even on my system. Causing numerous issues since my client just changed to Verdana for universal access documents.

constrain with shift key not working
I'm trying to move the bottom line of a text box.
I select the box's line with open arrow, hold down the SHIFT key to constrain - and it automatically deselects the type box that I was trying to move. I can select the line with the open arrow and move it that way, but it's too easy to make an error and shift the box. I need the corners to remain perfectly square which is why I'm holding the shift key.
I've had this problem with the last few upgrades.

Sentence case deletes first letter of each line.
I use the change case multiple times daily, since I frequently receive text content in all caps. I recently started using Illustrator CC 23.0.2. Anytime I use (specifically) the "sentence case" option it deletes the first letter of each (paragraph) line. It's extremely annoying. I have to open InDesign to do it and change it there, then bring it back into Illustrator.

Font style descriptor repeated in the Font's name
I just created and exported a new font using Glyphs app.
While I was testing it, I realize how the style descriptor "Regular" appeared in the name as well.
Tried to fix this with Glyphs support as long as I discovered it's this way only on Illustrator.
No repetition on Photoshop or other non-Adobe apps.
Problem goes away if I have 2 or more styles, but other single-styled fonts (like Impact) don't have this repetition.

Extreme performance issues (AKA the dreaded color wheel) when trying to type in AI 23.0.2.
I get the color wheel with anything text-related. From basic typing to simply deleting a letter or space. Haven't found any way around the issue. I design a ton of infographics and this is seriously adding unnecessary time to my projects.

Create Outline shortcut is not working
I'm not sure when this started happening but CTRL + SHIFT + O isn't working as a command for create outlines.
Notes:
All other key commands work fine
My O key isn't broken
The command is still correct in preferences
Doing "Create Outlines" from the menu works just fine.
I've tried reselecting, restarting, multiple documents. It's simply not working, It's very weird.. anyone?

Asks me to login to Creative Cloud when I try to "Find Fonts"
When I try to search for non-native fonts that I've downloaded after opening a file from a non-Adobe cloud program, it says I need to go to "Help" and log in to Creative CLoud. When I go to "Help", it says I'm already signed in. Restarting the program and trying again does not fix the problem.
