Can't Add Artboards in Increments of 10 by Using Shift
Used to be able in the new document window add 10 artboards by shift+clicking the buttons to the side. Now whenever I do it, it's just one at a time. Would be nice to have that back.
1 voteDoesn’t seem to happen anymore in the latest builds of Illustrator, in both legacy and modern versions of File New dialog.
If it still happens for you, please comment back.

Control panel to set coordinates is missing
Before the last update I used to be able to draw a square or ellipse then type the location I wanted to place it, X or Y. Now that is gone. Now I have to open another box "TRANSFORM" in order to place the shape exactly where I wanted it. Very inconvenient. If I at least had the ability to dock that box at the top it would make life much easier. It has been at the top for as long as I can remember. I often use this like a CAD software when I draw. The last update made…
1 voteIllustrator team decided to swap the horizontal Control panel (the top bar you probably mean) with the vertical Properties panel in the default workspace.
We can choose to show it instead of Properties with Window > Control.

Hello,
I'm using windows 10 and Illustrator 24.0.2.Whenever I'm launching Illustrator, without opening a .ai file, my welcome screen doesn't show at all. I can start a new project fine but I still need my screen to show. And yes the setting to show the welcome screen is checked.

Make CMD+D to behave the same way in both Illustrator and InDesign
I like the CMD+D on Illustrator but want that on InDesign for duplicating things easier, and I also like the CMD+D on InDesign and I want that on Illustrator to relink photos easier. So maybe keep the CMD+D the same in both and create a new left hand command for the other?
I'm down1 voteYou can reassign these commands to new hotkeys manually to any combination you need, using Keyboard Shortcuts dialog.
If you think that all Adobe apps should have the same keyboard shortcuts anyway, you can try to upvote this general request.

Radiobox on the Symbol options behaves inverse to the expected using the keyboard arrow keys
See the attached image, notice that Symbol Type is set to Dynamic Symbol. If you wanted to change it to Static Symbol using the keyboard, you'd expect to press down on the arrow keys, correct?
That does not work, instead you need to press UP on the keyboard arrow keys, which is the exact opposite of what you'd expect.
1 voteDoesn’t seem to happen anymore, and the Down arrow toggles the option is expected.
If it still happens for you — please comment back.

Resizing a new document window is broken
When creating a new document the widow goes full screen, when I try to resize using the bottom right corner to resize window, it automatically grows larger than the screen size and can't grab the corner... then when I do get the corner back on the screen trying to resize just doesn't work well, it’s very slow and largish and half the time it won't resize it jumps back to full or only partially resizes... never did this before and it’s a pain. I spend 10 min trying to get the window like I want it to be nearly every…

Actual Size view menu does not display at actual size...
The new "Actual Size" feature under the view menu does not zoom to actual size. a 1" square is displayed at around 7/8" instead.
12 votesthere are two issues in this post
1. Users want this feature to work on multiple monitors.
2. Users want to have a view actual pixels for web drawings.for #1 please vote here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-feature-requests/suggestions/35799382--actual-size-should-work-with-multiple-monitors
for #2: we have an option to disable – You have to go to Preferences > General and uncheck “Display print size at 100% Zoom”.

Workspace panels move on their own
While using the new Illustrator CC v.23, the workspace will randomly move around and cover up the artboard that I am working on. I can simply click "reset workspace" and it's back to normal it is very frequently that the workspaces move around randomly. Please fix, Thanks.
9 votesWe have a feature to popup colors panel when you click on fill/stroke proxy. Please remove the colors panel from the the workspace when it pops-up you should be fine. When I say remove you just have to remove from the dock and keep it as a floating

Tool panels are enlarged or scaled up
Updated to Illustrator 2019 - workspace panels have increased dramatically in size - see screen grab of Illustrator and the same area in photoshop.
Solutions helpful as I cannot have as many panel open as they now take up so much space!

Cannot close main application window with keyboard shortcut
When there are no documents open, it's apparently not possible to close the application window from the keyboard (e.g. with the traditional shortcut Cmd+W). The Close option is disabled in the File menu.
2 votesHi Kit,
Cmd+W is used to close the documents, if you want to close the application, please use Cmd+Q
Thanks

Stop asking about switching to the Touch interface
I have a laptop with a touch screen (that I never use, and never intend to use). Every time I open Illustrator, it tells me that it has detected that I am using a touch enabled screen and asks if I want to switch. I would be VERY appreciative if you could make this pop up with a "don't ask me again on this computer" checkbox as it is really annoying as it not always obvious that it has popped up and it makes the screen unresponsive.
3 votesHi,
Sorry to hear that this dialog was annoying you so much. I am glad to share that this has been removed from the latest release of Illustrator. Please upgrade to latest version to get rid of this issue.
Thanks

Oversize UI Elements in Ai 2019
I noticed that with the 2019 version of Illustrator (23.0), the entire UI of the software seems to be "supersized." It is as if every pixel is now rendered oversized. Not just in the drawing area, but all the tools, controls, panels, everything.
I've attached a "full screen" screen shot of the 2019 (v. 23.0) welcome screen, and the (reinstalled) 2018 (v. 22.1) welcome screen. Both are maximized on the same physical screen, the display on my MacBook Pro. See how the buttons and other elements are larger in the 2019 version? Like it is somehow zoomed in.
I do…

"Left-click the tool to view a list of all the tools in the tool group." Does not work.
"Left-click the tool to view a list of all the tools in the tool group."
Very simple, right? We've all been able to do it forever.
Well, I don't want to be overly unpleasant about this, but, having finally upgraded from Adobe CS5 to Adobe CC, I find that this most basic of actions is unperformable on my computer. It worked in CS5.
It's the newest version of Mojave, 10.14.3, and the newest version of Illustrator, on account of me having just installed it.

User Interface zoomed in
The interface in my Adobe Illustrator 2019 is 'zoomed-in' and it's not the same size as other Adobe apps. I've attached a screen shot of Illustrator 2018 vs Illustrator 2019.
1 voteIllustrator has a feature to scale user interface on high resolution devices. You may choose to turn it off under preferences>User Interface>UI Scaling.

resize does not respect the homothety
1) It is impossible to draw a specific object
If we write 100 x 100 pt in L and H. This draws: 101,172 x 100,657 pt
It's not accurate and not square !!2) Having the box "keep proportions V and H" checked.
You can not write 200 pt in H and keep the proportion respected.
Example I type V = 200 pt. He writes me V = 202,172 pt and H = 203,292 ptStill not accurate and not square
It's a disaster, because gradually, while working and constantly changing the sizes of these objects, everything becomes oval and…

If it still does for you — please check if the Use Preview Bound option in Preferences > General is disabled, and comment back if toggling it does not help.
