When working with hi-res Black and White Bitmaps Illustrator goes to CPU preview disabling GPU Animated / Scrubby Zoom. When using hi-res BW bitmaps, 'Scrubby Zoom' or 'Animated Zoom' disables itself even if it's enabled in preferences. This happens after roughly 1 or 2 seconds after opening a file with this kind of images. The window goes from CMYK/Preview mode to CMYK/CPU mode as if it was in Separations Preview or CPU preview, even though it wasn't set to either of those. View>View Using GPU becomes grayed out so I can't go back.
This bug is happening on a file with 2 1200dpi bitmap 5"x5" (embedded and/or linked), each under 1MB in size, making the Illustrator file 3MB total,…

Illustrator crash and spikes GPU (3080ti) requesting more VRAM than usual error code 6 with pid=263 Hello,
Details of your operating system: Windows 11 Pro Version 10.0.22000
The version of Adobe Illustrator (desktop) : 26.5
I work with high-amount data content and AI keeps crashing randomly, on a stable high end station with 12900k, 32GB of RAM and a 3080ti.To reproduce the issue:
I work with these rather heavier files up to a point
the whole PC stalls and freezes, (inclusively desktop and any app), mouse can't be moved, no input can be taken.
After a few seconds or 1+ minute, i hear the sound stuttering (if i was playing music during the crash)

Document grid with dots fails to render clean pixels. GPU/CPU rendering differs. The dotted document grid renders differently between CPU and GPU modes. None of the alternatives renders perfect pixels in the selected grid color.
CPU renders vertically lighter smeared dots.
GPU renders horizontally smeared dots.See attached screenshots.
This may relate to another bug report i've posted:

Coordinates not showing in Overprint Preview On Intel Macs running Monterey (Issue does not appear to happen on Apple Silicon Macs), with the GPU Performance turned off the coordinates do not show when dragging an anchor point. If GPU Performance is turned on it does work but only in Outline View.
Steps to Reproduce
1. Create blank file, have GPU Performance turned off
2. Drag to create a new square object
3. Turn GPU Performance on and change to Outline View
4. Drag to create a new square object (Coordinates now show in Outline View)
5. Change to Overprint Preview
6. Drag to create a new…2 votes -

Color change with the CPU/GPU overview with an external display Hello, I am on a 14" MacBook Pro. 2021
On the MacBook screen the rendering change (CPU/GPU) does not change the color and everything works fine.
However on an external screen the GPU rendering gives bad color (often distorted and duller), by activating the CPU rendering the color becomes normal on the external screen.
In GPU rendering on the external screen for example, the dropper does not pick up the right color (its link images).
On the other hand, once the color has been cut in CPU rendering, we can put back the GPU rendering (the colors become desaturated) but…

Illustrator 2022 GPU Preview freezes on file load/zoom/switch with RTX 2060 and RTX 3060 Illustrator 2022 (26.2.1) freezes for up to 5 minutes when GPU Preview is enabled on file load, zoom, switch. The CPU usage rises to 99% during the freeze and a system level interruption is observed at the end of the freeze that lasts up to 10 seconds. A memory leak takes place after every freeze even after all files are closed. Only closing Illustrator entirely releases de the abnormally allocated memory. CPU Preview is not affected by this.
The tested systems are:
Setup 1:
Windows 11 64-bit, 21H2, 22000.652
Intel Core i7-9700F

Swatch & Tool Names don't appear when I pause/hover the cursor over them. MacOs Monterey 12.0.1
Adobe Illustrator 26.2.1When you hover over a swatch or tool & leave the cursor there for a second, the name of the swatch/tool always showed along with keyboard shortcuts for many of the tools.
I was searching the Pantone colors & two colors came up. Rather than just one quick step, I had to do several.
What should happen:
I hover the cursor over the colors for a second to see which was which. Then I pick the one I was looking for. What happens now:
I hover the cursor over the colors & nothing shows…2 votes -
Direct selection tool appears to move whole object until mouse release When part of an object is selected using the direct selection tool (selection tool and holding 'V' key down) the whole object appears to move to the new position until the mouse is released, at which point all the unselected points snap back to their original position. I'm assuming this is a bug and not intended?

Illustrator 2021 and 2022 Zoom not working correctly after OS update to Monterey Like the title says, after update to Monterey.... when using Illustrator 21 or 22 when zooming into an object, either vector, tiff, eps on the document the screen goes gray about 150% to 300%. I have reset many things, GPU.... reset preferences, colors, overprint off and on.... nothing seems to correct it. This happened Only after going from Big Sur to Monterey. Attached is a screen shot at 100% zoom, then the same art at 300%. The art is all vector, that really doesn't matter, vector and images act the same when zooming. Another screen shots on another job at…

Secondary Jagged Stroke Mac OS Monterey 12.0.1
Illustrator 26.0.1I have been drawing lines with the line tool and expanding and bending them using the Anchor Point Tool. Sometimes Illustrator creates a secondary line alongside my smooth one that is jagged. It is still visible if I zoom in or out but I don't think it's really there (as a vector path). It is visible in the middle of my screenshot.

Images in clipping masks glitching and overlaying artwork when in GPU This is similar to previous posts but not sure if the same.. apologies if repeating. In the latest version of illustrator, images within clipping masks are glitching out and making the file impossible to work with. These glitched versions of the masked image change constantly when zooming in or out, but do not disappear as they used to when illustrator bugged out previously. see attached screenshot. The orange metal flake texture should only exist within the frame of the bicycle. The lighter orange glitchy shapes do not exist.

AMD Radeon Pro 580 rendering bug Hi, I have a 2017 iMac Retina 5k 27", 64GB RAM, Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7 with AMD Radeon Pro 580 GPU, 8Gb VRAM, driver version 01.00.931, Illustrator 25.4.1. I am getting odd effects in rendering of linear gradients where angular areas of colour appear at higher magnifications. If the GPU is turned off in Illustrator prefs the effect disappears. Please see screenshot attached showing the effect with GPU. Is there a fix for this, please?

Stroke display error when stroke is 0.001mm Stroke does not display correctly for very fine stroke lines on curves (for example 0.001mm). If the change the stroke to 0.1mm it displays perfectly, but when 0.001mm the appears to be large vectors filled in. There are not "really" there - it is just a display issue, but very easy to reproduce.
Since 0.001mm is a common stroke width for Laser Cutters, this is a big problem as it is difficult to work with detailed drawings when it does not display correctly. See the attached sample for a very simple example.2 votes
