  1. Bitmaps display as vertical lines in GPU Preview in AI 28.5

    Multiple mentions of bitmaps showing as vertical lines. Displays correctly in CPU Preview in 28.5 but is broken in GPU preview. 2023 does not have this problem on the same system.

  2. After updating Illustrator 2023 to v27.9.2, the name gets changed to Illustrator 2024

    After updating, the name should remain the original, Illustrator 2023.

  3. Artboard orientation changes from vertical to horizontal (portrait to landscape) by itself

    After update to 28.3, some artboards are switching orientation by themselves. It's not specific to content or number of artboards, apparently. Sometimes I just open a document with some artboards and hover my cursor over them (not even clicking anything) and the artboard just flips orientation from vertical to horizontal. Most of my work consists on social media posts (1080x1920px or 1080x1350px) witch now Illustrator insists in automatically switching to Landscape for no apparent reason.
    By the way, the content is not flipped, just the artboard. And not all of them, usually just one out of the 10 or 20…

  4. 合成フォントを使うとaiファイルのPDFデータが空白になる

    「PDF互換ファイルを作成」をチェックONにして保存したaiファイルには「ネイティブデータ」と「PDFデータ」の2種類の異なるデータが格納されています。

    Illustrator環境設定「ファイル管理 > バックグラウンドで保存／書き出し」をONにして合成フォントを使うと、aiファイルの「PDFデータ」が空白（PDFのコンテンツストリームが空）になってしまう場合があります。なお「ネイティブデータ」は正常に保存されます。

    ●PDFデータの確認方法
    拡張子「ai」を「pdf」に変更してAcrobatで開く。拡張子「ai」のままAcrobatで開いてはいけない。
    または、InDesignドキュメントにリンク配置する。
    または、macOSならクイックルックで表示する。

    再現手順

    ●前準備
    1. Illustratorを起動
    2. 環境設定「ファイル管理」の「バックグラウンドで保存」「バックグラウンドで書き出し」をチェックONにする
    3. 合成フォントをすべて削除する
    ●再現操作
    1. 新規ドキュメントを作成
    2. 合成フォントを新規作成
    3. テキストツールで文字を入力
    4. 2の合成フォントを3に適用する
    5. ファイル保存
    6. 合成フォントの設定を変更する（ウェイト変更など）
    7. ファイル保存

    2020（24）は5の時点でアラートが表示される。
    2021（25）は5の時点でアラートが表示される。
    2022（26）は5の時点でアラートなく保存されPDFデータが空白になる。

    2023（27）は7の時点でアラートなく保存されPDFデータが空白になる。

    対処方法

    環境設定「ファイル管理」の「バックグラウンドで保存」「バックグラウンドで書き出し」をチェックOFFにする。ただし抑止はされるが完全に防止できるわけではない。

  5. Generative Pop-ups causing file open click issues in MacOS Ventura

    The popups that push the generative AI features (which should be permantally dismissable, but that's another issue) cause a bug in the file open... menu. If the popup remains open, and you click File > Open... the file dialog opens, but you cannot click on any files. Closing Illustrator and re-opening will fix the issue.

  6. The small Generative AI marketing window won't close.

    When starting work this morning, a small marketing window popped up inviting me to try Generative AI. I click on the little X in the upper corner but it wouldn't close without restarting Illustrator. These marketing windows are interfering with production and are useless, please stop using them.

  7. Drop shadows appear lighter in v28.1

    Drop shadows appear lighter in version 28.1 compared to previous versions.

    Applying a drop shadow and opening the same file side-by-side in two versions makes this clear. Both shadows have the same settings, files have the same colour settings and profile, and are displayed on the same monitor.

    The example images show version 28.1 and 27.9, but the change is evident between 28.0 and 28.1.

  8. Illustrator desktop version 27.8 Error message [UKCO] after update on 8-3-2023

    I get the following error message upon starting up Illustrator desktop.
    "The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [UKCO]"
    The app opens and I can create a new doc but the message keeps popping up.
    For now I'm reverting back to a previous version.

  9. Bullets and Numbering characters disappear when outlining font

    As per my title - If I use bullets and numbering in a text box, when I outline the text in the text box the bullets and numbering completely disappear.

  10. Width tool started work weird after update 27.9

    After this update, width tool on closed shapes instead of acting like they are shapes with continuous edges, it cuts the width at a point.

    I use width tool a lot and this is problematic.

    Oh and in some cases width point not showing.

  11. Zoom with Alt+wheel is way too sensitive in new v27.3 to the point of being unusable

    This has just started with the new update to v27.3 using the Alt and the scroll wheel now causes intermittent massive jumps in zoom. Updated all my Logitech software. Running latest everything so reverting to 27.2 as this makes Illustrator unusable. How on earth did this get through any sort of testing?

  12. AI CC V 28.1 Windows 10 Extrusion (3D and materials) no more working for some objects

    I am no more able to complete the extrusion of a disc object for which I previously removed parts of it using the pathfinder substraction tool. Substraction is working well, but extrusion is not. Once started, the extrusion process does not complete. I had to revert to Illustrator 28.0 to make it work.

  13. ファイル保存時のオプションダイアログの位置が保持されない Save dialog gets shifted left each time

    macOS10.15,7
    IlklustratorCC ver 26.5.1

    ファイル保存時にファイル名を指定した後オプション設定画面が開きますが、このダイアログの位置が保存を繰り返すたびに左に移動します。最終的には半分見切れる状態となり、設定を行う為にダイアログウインドウ自体をマウスで移動させる必要があります。

    再現方法
    1.ファイルを作成する。
    2.「ファイル→保存」でファイル名を任意に指定し、保存ボタンをクリック。
    3.従来のオプションダイアログは表示領域の中央に表示されましたが表示位置が左にずれています。
    4.1〜3を繰り返すと、最終的には半分見切れる状態まで移動してしまいます。

    期待する動作
    従来のバージョンの様にダイアログの位置が意図に反して動かない。

    現状の結果
    ダイアログが保存するたびに移動し、見切れてしまう。

    対応策
    ダイアログをマウスでドラッグして位置を戻す。

    please remove the annoying popup ... i will never share or use google cloud for any business documents.
    and i hate HATE popups that will not go away. i never want to see any popups.

  15. Intertwine bug when export as pdf X4

    mac os 12.6, illustrator 2023
    create 2 intertwining circles, save as PDF X4 with the Illustrator default settings and you get a bitmap instead of vector data..
    by choosing "compatibility: acrobat 8" the problem does not appear.

  16. Acrobat PDF File Format is having difficulties. Bad parameter.

    Having this issue after the 27.3.1 update. Found that it cause by the mask inside the transparency. The error prompt out when we try to save the file.

  17. v27.8.1 - Random files having images corrupted upon file save

    Mac OS 13.5.1 / Illustrator 27.8.1 / Apple Studio M1 Max

    After updating from 27.7 > 27.8.1 files saved in native .ai format (pdf compatibility) with embedded images are randomly becoming corrupted (does not happen to all documents). The files will open up in illustrator just fine, and appear normal, but the image preview and rasterizing into photoshop will show the included images with blank white space, or areas of garbled distortion. The corrupted files will also fail to process on our RIP. This has appeared on 2 different computers immediately following the update. This has been alleviated completely by…

  18. Type on path positioning is now quantized and not smooth

    Take a look at the GIF.

    In Illustrator 2022 users were able to position start and end marker brackets with practically infinite precision, smoothly, even for a long, single-bezier path.

    In 2023 these markers are quantized to 0.005 increments! For a long, single-bezier path, this creates laughably large steps (like, almost the width of an entire glyph).
    Note that the quantization is per bezier segment, so if you put text on a path that has many anchor points, it won't be as noticeable. But adding loads of points to a path makes it much less editable later, of course, so…

  20. Bullet list cannot be disabled
