Clicking on File > File Info... does nothing and sometimes locks up
When opening a file or creating a new file, nothing happens when I click on File > File Info...
The menu bar disappears and all menu options are grayed out. I can sometimes hit escape and it clears the condition, but I'm unable to open the File Info dialog. Other times, it completely locks up and I have to Force Quit.
On version Illustrator 22.0.1

Drop shadow bug on modal dialogs
Modal dialogs in Illustrator 22.0.1 (64-bit) on Windows are rendering incorrectly for me.

Extended top and bottom of glyphs of variable fonts are not rendered
Vertically long glyphs with variable font are not rendered at the top and bottom. Please see attached file.

Drag-n-drop across documents to locked layer warning
Please see the animation.
I have two documents, one with current layer is locked.
When I try to drag my artwork from other document (in this locked layer, about which I very often don't remember), AI should have said something about 'You are attempting to paste or drag into one or more layers that are locked or hidden. Do you want to unlock and show all appropriate layers?'...But in my case it does not.
I remember seeing it from time to time, but often it stops appearing.
I have nothing as result, no warning, no message, nothing.

Saving a PDF compatible causes slow saving
I have a top end workstation so the spec isn't an issue. When saving an AI file, checking PDF compatible slows the save and subsequent saves significantly. Un-checking it results in normal performance. This was not an issue prior to the latest release.

Illustrator crashing repeatedly
Since upgrading to the previous release of Illustrator (current version 22.0.1) Illustrator has been crashing repeatedly. Sometimes for no reason, but most frequently on Save (Cmd+S or menu item). This occurs roughly 30 times per day.
Since updating to 22.0.1 when Illustrator crashes it also deletes all preferences in eluding keyboard shortcuts, user interface settings, file handling, performance - all of it.
Every time the programs crashes it leaves [random string].tmp files in the original files location.

Deleting segment of path for 'Type on path' and than undoing it gives wrong result
I have type on path.
I delete one segment of the path, and text is now overflowing.
I undo deletion, path got restored, but text does not — it is still trimmed, and I have to NOTICE this and drag end marker back.

Recolor artwork window stops working shortly after opening (Illustrator CC2018)
Im using Adobe Illustrator CC 2018 on macOS High Sierra (10.13.2).
I'm trying to recolor my artwork but the window accessed via Edit colors > recolor Artwork freezes shortly after using it.Everything remains responsive except that when I click any part of the window there is no response from Illustrator. I can still move the window around but cannot exit it. The OS doesn't recognize it as a crash (no "not responding" message).
I've been working on the same document in Illustrator CC 2017, recoloring worked fine in then.
Any idea how to fix this?

Set Area Type width to larger than 13.888 inches via Type->Area Type Options... dialog
Though the type tool can draw area type boxes of any size, the width property of the Area Type Options dialog box can only be set up to 13.888 inches. This means that for any wider area type, whenever you change a property within the Area Type Options it will be resized to 13.888 inches wide.
This is not a new problem as seen in this thread started in 2010: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/701249.
I often work on area type larger than this seemingly arbitrary limit. If I adjust the columns, gutters, inset or any other property found within the Area Type…

SVG text export failure
Illustrator 22.0.1 cannot export text layer names to SVG, which seriously impairs our SVG processing pipeline. Tested on both Mac and PC.
To reproduce:
• Create a blank document
• Create a new text object with the Type tool
• Give the text object a name in the Layers control panel
• Export to SVG, setting Object IDs to "Layer Names"The resulting SVG code will contain a <text> entity, but without its "id" attribute!

Illustrator CC 2018 - CEP 8 HTML Extension Resize Issue
We are experiencing resizing issue in the latest CEP version. Our extension allows user to resize extension's window, however whenever any navigation occur, window size resets. Problem exists in Illustrator CC 2018 (22.0.1), everything is working fine in previous version (CC 2017).
We already tried different geometry settings and extension UI types, but problem persists and seems to be related to engine itself.We successfully reproduced this issue with official git hub sample extension. Steps to reproduce:
1. Open sample extension with debug mode enabled
2. Resize window
3. Change window location in console to any other page

Files not saving correctly, reopens to older versions.
Twice this week I've saved files, closed them, and opened them later and my changes were not saved – illustrator opened way older versions of the files. What's weirder is one is a PDF, and the PDF shows the accurate file, but when I open it in illustrator it shows the old version.

Media size setting of print dialog returns to default settings on changing color via swatches (or apply arrowhead via strokes)
Any operating system (happens on both Windows and Mac)
Illustrator Version 22.x or 21.xChange "media size" in print setting from "Defined by Driver" to any paper.
Finish the print dialog ("Done" click).
Select from the color book with Swatches panel, or set the arrow with the Stroke panel.
When returning to the print setting again, the media size returns to "Defined by Driver".Does not occur before Version 20 (CC 2015.5).
Possibility to occur when using settings that refer to another Illustrator file.

Save a Copy in same folder of AI file (like before)
Save a Copy in same folder of AI file (like before)
Since the update to 22.0, the behaviour of “Save a copy” has changed so as to present the last-browsed folder destination in Windows Explorer. Previously this defaulted to the location of the working file.
This is interrupting workflow considerably. I’m sure I am not alone in saving PDF copies of artwork in profess, for discussion with colleagues and clients. This used to be a couple of keystrokes but now I have to remember to browse back to the working file location each time.

Pressing keyboard arrows while 'Snap to grid' is on nudges art by two instead of one
I can't use keyboard arrows to move art around the document because AI almost every time moves art at 2mm instead of 1mm, which is set in preferences.
- Create document, e.g. A4, with units set as mm
- Set grid 10×10 — it's my mostly used grid, because I live in metric world
- Set 'Keyboard increment' to 1mm
- Enable 'Snap to grid'
- Draw custom-sized rectangle
- Press Up or Down several times and watch how coordinates change
Expected:
Rectangle's Y should go like this:

Reverting Text to default State after Live Preview of character properties
I'm on an iMac running High Sierra 10.13.2 and Illustrator CC 22.0.1
Text will randomly hide bounding boxes, apply tracking to text not selected, and refuse to apply adjustment to selected text. Closing the document and re-opening normalize things temporarily, but above behaviors come back.
All CC apps seem laggy and unstable after 2018 updates.
