Colour Guide - Set Base Colour doesn't recognise filled object, only with a stroke
Version 30.3 Set base colour only recognises object that has a stroke colour. Will not recognise object with only a fill colour. When trying to fill an object with a colour from the colour guide, it will only colour the object with a stroke of the selected colour.

Layer thumbnails are not displaying properly (CPU Preview)
Issue: Layer thumbnails are cropped based on previous zoom state.
When you open a document that's been previously saved in a zoomed-in state, all visible layers' thumbnails will only show the elements that are visible in the zoom view. That is, elements that were out of view when the document was saved, are no longer visible in their layer thumbnail after reopening the document.
How to reproduce
Make sure "GPU Performance" is turned OFF in the preferences.
Create or open a document that has many elements in it.
Zoom into a particular area of the document, purposely cropping other parts…

【不具合報告】macOS Tahoe 標準日本語 IME が Adobe Illustrator でインライン入力に失敗する
■ 環境
・macOS Tahoe (26)
・Adobe Illustrator 29.8.6 および 30.3 の両バージョンで共通して発生
・IME: macOS 標準日本語入力（ライブ変換オフ）
・ハードウェア: Apple Silicon Mac■ 症状
Illustrator のテキストツールで日本語を入力しようとすると、未確定文字がアプリケーション内のカーソル位置（インライン）に表示されず、画面左下にフローティング変換ウィンドウとして表示される。変換ウィンドウ内で確定（Return）を押してもアプリケーション側に文字が入力されず、ウィンドウも消えない。Illustrator を再起動すると一時的に回復するが、数十分〜数時間の作業後に再発する。この症状は Illustrator のバージョンを変えても変わらないため、macOS Tahoe 側の IME の実装に起因する問題と考えられる。
■ 再現手順
1. Illustrator を起動し、任意のドキュメントを開く
2. テキストツールでテキストオブジェクトをダブルクリック
3. 数十分〜数時間日本語入力を継続する
4. 値わず、未確定文字がインラインではなく左下のフローティングウィンドウに出るようになる■ 試みた対処（すべて効果なし）
・アプリケーションおよびシステムの再起動
・対象アプリケーションのキャッシュ・環境設定リセット
・フォントキャッシュのクリア
・入力ソースの再登録
・ライブ変換の ON/OFF 切り替え
・アプリケーシンのバージョンダウングレード（30.3 → 29.8.6）■ 鈴決した事実
AppleScript による Illustrator への JavaScript 実行命令は正常に通るため、Apple Events 自体のブロックはない。IME とアプリケーション間のインライン入力連携（Text Input Client プロトコル）が切れることが原因と考えられる。■ 要望

Overset text indicators do not show when Type on Path has overflow
Text Overflow / Overset (+) Indicators are not showing on newer illustrator versions on Text Paths (Point Text).
The text paths have stopped showing the indicator when clicking off of the Text on a path (point type) has text overflow.As a map design company this is a big issue for us, as our files have thousands of text paths. We used to be able to identify crucial overset text information using these markers however they have vanished for the most past. Some files do occasionally show them but most do not. The tooltip about the ability to smooth a part of the path get displayed many times instead of once until tried
The tooltip about being able to use the direct selection tool to select only a few anchor points and smooth just that portion is helpful... once. Afterwards, it's just distracting. Please have it turn off either after the first time it appears, or if the user has successfully done this maneuver at least once.

Illustrator repeatedly gets stuck saving causing a forced restart and loss of document
Illustrator repeatedly gets stuck saving almost every document that has any complexity. It will not finish it's save and requires a force quit/restart. It will also not autosave any document changes made before the error, so every time it happens it requires the file to be made from scratch. This has become so persistent in my files that I can no longer use illustrator.
Operating system: Windows 11 Enterprise 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Can’t access tools using Essential Classic workspace
My Essential Classic tools do not come up and it doesn't let me reset them either, so I can’t use Illustrator at all. I tried to uninstall and reinstall —didn't work either

Multipoint Freeform Gradients Uneditable
Randomly all gradients in Illustrator with multiple points become uneditable, I cannot click on "Edit gradient" button and if I manage to it does nothing. Point on gradient temporarily come up when in Gradient panel, but disappears when I click off. I have reset the application numerous times.

Illustrator not letting me save my files or very slow
Illustrator keeps lagging on saving sometimes not responsive and not letting me quit illustrator.

Sonoma 14.8.5 (23J423)Admittedly we run our server on Dropbox, but even still it was not a problem about 1 month ago.
Please don’t ask me to to save files locally as that is not a viable solution.
Saving on dropbox was working fine without issue a few months ago, now all of sudden it is lagging for 10 mins a file that used to take 1min to save sometimes not…

Gradient across stroke, inside opacity mask is thresholded for half the width of the stroke
Applying a black-to-white gradient across a stroke inside an opacity mask results in a portion of the opacity mask not being applied, corresponding to half the width of the stroke, almost as if it is clipped by the stroke. If the path is subsequently outlined, which creates a mesh, the behavior is the same. If the object is a filled bezier curve, the behavior is normal with the shape masked as expected.

Illustrator Layers Panel Object Thumbnails No Longer Update After Edits
In Illustrator, the object thumbnails in the Layers panel are no longer refreshing after changes are made to the artwork to match the new appearance. Because the preview remains outdated, it becomes harder to track changes and quickly identify the correct objects in complex files. This breaks a useful visual cue and makes the workflow less reliable and less efficient.

30.3 SVG Code is not at the same scale size as same file code from 29.8.6. It's half the size
Exporting a SVG file from 2026 30.3 the code is a complete different size than the same file code from 2025 29.8.6 and not in a good way.
The image on the left is from 2025 and the image on the right is from 2026.
This is a bug that shouldn't be in the 2026 version

Freeform Gradient is not rendred
When I try to make a freeform gradient, the colors don't show up. I'm not sure if this is just an issue with a preview or something else.

The preview is incorrect because some images are missing
Ever since at least Illustrator version 29.8.5, I've been having preview issues with linked images. Some images are missing from my preview.
I tested it in Illustrator 30.3, and the problem persists.

Bounding box disappears when a fill color gets changed for a compound path
Change the color of the “composite path,” and the bounding box disappears

Bleed is applied randomly when not enabled
Issues with bleed. I keep saving a PDF withOUT bleed and it saves it with bleed. It randomly picks and choses which files it'll apply a bleed to and which it won't apply a bleed to, despite me picking NO BLEED on all of them. Very frustrating.

First Attempt to Copy Hex Not Working
When I click into the fill properties under appearance, and click the "copy value" button, it always will deselect and NOT copy on first attempt. But if I try again after it will work. Similarly, when I first click on the value, it highlights, and then if I do CMD + C the value will become de-selected and not copied.

Strange loops and spikes when using pressure-sensitive brushes with XP-Pen Tablet on Illustrator 29.3 and newer on Windows 11

My system:
Windows 11, Version 25H2 (Windows Ink is deactivated, tried with activated too).
Old tablet: Artist 12 Pro (XP-Pen)
New tablet: XP-Pen Deco Pro MW
I tried all available Illustrator versions (I will explain later).I am getting very weird and inconsistent strokes when drawing with a tablet and the Blob Brush Tool (please see screenshot and video attached EDIT: video too big pls see the article from the other forum, the video is posted there).

We weren't able to reproduce this issue on our end, so we'd like to gather a few more details to help us investigate further:
1. Wacom/tablet driver version- Could you share the exact driver version you're currently using?
2. Did this issue appear immediately after upgrading to a specific Illustrator version?
3. Illustrator version currently installed?

Pressing Tab in Color panel glitches
When adding a color to a object via the Color panel, normally you could use tab to move to the next field in the CMYK color options. Now and for the past few versions released it glitches any time you use Tab.
To get it to work you now have to type in the number for C, click enter then click in the M, Enter/click Enter and so on, which is time consuming. If you don't do it this way it glitches after hitting.

Unknown Error when saving
Windows - Adobe Illustrator 2026
When saving files for a proof - Press Quality, no editing, password, low resolution printing, no changes, no enabling copying of text - this error comes up on the first attempt every time.
If I save it a second time, this error doesn't happen. I wasn't receiving this issue until I updated to 30.2.1, but it was rare.
