1. Illustrator CS6 does'nt work on macOS Hight Sierra

   Hi,
   waht can I do to use Illustrator CS5 on macOS Hight Sierra.
   InDesign work very well, but Illustrator can't open.

   CS6 is not supported on High Sierra.

2. CS 3 begins launching, but never posts menu bar in High Sierra

   Having gone through the download process on the assumption that the license was the problem, I find that the newly installed AI CS3 still has the symptom it had before. That is it seems to start, but never displays the menu bar. I can also start it by double-clicking a .ai file. The graphic displays, but no menu bar or other windows.

3. Creative Cloud has potential ports leak (Activity Monitor)

   When starting Creative Cloud, and Viewing Activity Monitor in macOS the ports show an normal average number around 600. Yet the Creative Cloud ports don't stop there every 15 seconds they increase by 1-3 on avg. I have had them reach 10,000 and that when it starts causing problems with my MacBook performance. if I let it would just keep climbing endlessly. this need to be addressed asap.

   Thank you for reporting this issue. We have notified the concerned team about it. since this issue is not about Illustrator I am closing the bug.

4. No touch workspace

   In Illustrator CC 2015 (and 2017 & 2018) the Touch Workspace is missing.
   The graphic tablet works correctly (pressure, dynamics) but the Touch Workspace is missing.
   All the relevant tips I've found in Internet was followed, with no result.
   There's a manual way to enable the touch workspace.

   Ironically, the touch workspace was present in Illustrator BEFORE I bought the graphic tablet.

   System:
   Mac Mini late 2012, using Boot Camp, Windows 10 (latest), 16GB RAM, Samsung SSD Evo850
   Graphic tablet: Huion DWH69 (latest drivers)

   Please refer to our system requirement for a supported configuration. We do not support/test touch workspace on boot camp and an external tablet.

   Colors swatches are converted document color mode, Illustrator’s supported document color modes are RGB and CMYK. Please try the suggestion provided by Ton.

6. "To preserve appearance some text has been outlined"

   I recently sent a PDF file generated from InDesign (CC2018) to a book manufacturer from which they were to make a brass die to stamp a binding, just as I have done for about twenty years. A proof was sent back to me in which the 1/2pt rules had thickened to about 3pts and some of the type had thickened, too. I complained and they sent me another proof, in which the rules were ok, but most of the type had thickened.

   I wondered how this could have happened, so I did some experiments. I opened the PDF in Illustrator (CC2018), thinking they might be turning the art into outlines. In Illustrator, the file opened with a dialog box "To preserve appearance some text has been outlined," which offered no way to opt out. Sure enough, the artwork (type and rules) had thickened as it did in the proofs.

   Why does Illustrator do this? It doesn't preserve the appearance of anything, it only ruins the art. This is clearly a glitch. To fix it, I had to edit the file extensively. In the least, there should be a way to opt out of this "feature."

   PDF is intended for Output and Document Sharing. In any workflow, if the content is to be modified without any data loss then the native file format should be used for editing. InDesign document or Illustrator document should be used to edit the content.

7. Color picker scrolling

   Color picker scrolling bug.
   1. Verson 22.0.1
   2. Open color picker, select channel (S/H/B/R/G/B), scroll up/down using mouse wheel.
   3. The values should change by mouse wheel.
   4. The R/G/B channels are fine. In Hue, scrolling up is MUCH slower (insensitive) than scrolling down. In Saturation/brightness, most time I can't scroll up. Rarely I can do a 1% scrolling up. Scrolling down is fine.

8. Cannot rename new or old folders in save dialogue

   Used to be able to create a folder inside the save dialogue with a specific name. Not anymore. And i cannot change a folders name either. I am running a PC.

   1. Version Illustrator CC latest build 22.0.1
   2. Save as -> Create folder->New folder
   3. Ability to name folders.
   4. Folder says New folder and stays like that.

9. Diagonal Lines

   Hi, I've just updated my Creative Cloud to 2018, but when using the Illustrators, every time I push ctrl button or use the direct tool, these diagonal lines appear. Is there a way to make the line disappear? Thanks.

10. Unecessary trapping bug

    Whenever I send that was made in CC2018 to our Rip there is trapping added to it. This has never happened for the many years I have been using illustrator. This art is butt up without any stroke and should not trap at all. I thought it was our rip software but I tried a different brand rip at another shop and the problem remains. The problem disappears when I disable overprint but I need to use that for base plates and die lines. I am on Illustrator CC 22.0.0

    Trapping can happen if there are two objects with just fill color and if they overlap each other with overprint attribute set then the end result is trapping. The objects in the file you provided overlaps each other to the tune of 0.2 pt with the top object having overprint attribute set.

    Please follow the steps to dismiss the hint :
    1. Create a document with multiple artboards
    2. From tools, select artboard tool (shift +O)
    3. Click on Okay to dismiss the hint

    Now do do what ever you were doing and this hint would not come up.

12. PDF opening

    Opening a multi page pdf created in CC 2018 from another user in my office, I am only able to open 1 page of the PDF at a time in the dialog box. We are having to save a AI fils as well as the PDF and the process is annoying

13. [Bug] Area text with Auto-size and stroke applied

    1:
    Version: CC18 (22.0.0) 64bit Windows 7

    2:

    a) Draw out area text box using type tool and type a few words
    b) Double click to convert to auto-size (or set check mark in Area Type Options)
    c) Area type options > Offset - Inset spacing: any value other than 0 - note: this step is not required to recreate the bug I've included as the stroke below would look odd without it.
    d) Using Direct Selection Tool (white arrow) select an anchor point from the area type box
    e) Apply a stroke of any size
    f) Using the Selection Tool, reduce the size the area type box in from the right until there is more text than can be displayed.

    3:
    The area text box should resize automatically downwards so that all the text remains visible.

    4:
    The bottom edge of the stroked outlines jumps off the bottom of the pasteboard extents but the internal text boundary crops the visible text.

14. Saving AI to EPS produces 2 EPS "clones"

    Standard procedure in my Art Dept. is to save AI files as EPS when going to press. This includes outlining all fonts and embedding all images.

    For at least the last several months, I've often found that when I save an AI file as an EPS, it creates two nearly identical EPS "clones"...meaning they have virtually the same file name but are slightly different in size. An example result for saving "file_name.ai" would be:

    filename.eps
    filename-01.eps

    In all cases, the file without the "-01" would be slightly smaller in size (i.e., 4.3MB compared to 4.6MB), but aside from that they appear to be identical.

    Nevertheless, this shouldn't be happening, yet I can't seem to find a solution. Your help would be appreciated. Thanks.

18. Pressure option for brush is greyed out in AI while using Wacom Tablet

    Adobe Illustrator CC 22.0.0

    Ever since the new update, every time I'm trying to change my paintbrush to pressure sensitive option from the drop down list box, the 'pressure ' option is greyed out and can't be selected. 'Fixed' and 'random' are the only ones that aren't greyed out.

    How can I set the pressure senstivity option on?

    Please help.

20. save as OR save a copy using artboards does not save separate artboard files at all.

    Only export works as expected. But if you want to save each artboard as PDF it does not.
