I get a message 'This file has been modified outside Illustrator. Do you want to continue?'

We have the fix available in the latest release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 22.1.

Awful UX, is because of things like this that people end leaving for Sketch or other tools. Adobe, you are a huge company, SOLVE IT, it's been more than a year already.

I also save my files to Google Drive File Stream; 36.0.18.0I understand that you think you fixed this in 24.0.2, so I should update.
But based on a comment below that mentions the issue persisting even after they updated, and them also using Google Drive File Stream, I'm wondering if that's the issue. -

Once I save a file in Illustrator (FILE>SAVE) and try to close the file the message pops up "If you don't save, your changes will be lost." And the option to save again comes up. What's going on?
