Unable to export PNG higher than 72ppi
"Export As" command will not export PNG files any higher than 72 ppi. Even when I set it to export at 300 ppi, it still exports at 72.
Please fix this!
Please update to version 22.0.1 to get the fix for this issue.

I don’t think this has been resolved? The only way I can see you export it at 300 ppi is using PSD option however PNG only gives you scale size?
For me this is a pain as I have to use illustrator on a PC to export as PNG at 300ppi so my print company will accept it.

having the same problem still. how can we fix?
I'm having the same issue. Would be amazing if this was actually fixed.

I'm using version 23.0.1 and still having the same issue.
unknown error [!now].... Updating had no effect as I expected. Please spend your time fixing the endless bugs instead of adding useless features and changing default hotkeys. These constant issues are tiresome.
Yeah- I remember this problem when it showed up originally, and yes it was fixed for awhile. I'm now experiencing it again? There's no error message or anything, it just isn't as high a resolution as it should be when I open the file and check it after saving.

Just to be clear, it appears that Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign now all “silently” translate the PNG specification metadata into the more familiar PPI values that many are used to seeing.
A PNG exported from AICC2018 (20.1) has the following metadata reported by ExifTool, which is to the PNG specification:
[PNG-pHYs] PixelsPerUnitX : 11811
[PNG-pHYs] PixelsPerUnitY : 11811
[PNG-pHYs] PixelUnits : meters
118.11 cm x 2.54 (cm to inch) = 299.9994 ppi – rounded up to 300 ppi

on Version 22.1 (Adobe Illustrator)
when you export or export selection, in the "export for screens" panel, Do not choose "1x".
Choose "Resolution" and change to whatever ppi that you want the PNG to be.
Then, you have to use Adobe Photoshop to open it and change image size (but keep the ppi setting).
export to PNG (set resolution as 600ppi)
Then on Adobe Photoshop, it will show 7493x4496px @600ppi
Simply change the image size back to 1066x768px (but keep 600ppi)

This seems to be happening again for some reason. Anyone else seeing it?

I use Export As...to 300 dpi daily. I've been having to use work arounds for a month now and it's slowing productivity. Can we get an update for the PC version please....preferably sometime this year.
Dear Adobers; ThanX a lot!
Even thought the workaround with the script (PNGResolutionReset.jsx) did the trick, it's now the way it should be. Thank you for your fast response.
Super excited for the fix, but how do I update to 22.0.1? When I open the Adobe Creative Cloud drop down it says "no updates"
The script was a helpful & quick patch - thank you!!
Yes, this is a nightmare!!

You can still copy and paste into Photoshop, then save out as a png at the resolution you need. This takes longer, but still works! Please fix this problem Adobe team. Its frustrating to update our applications only to have them not work as well as previous versions. Thank you.
