Illustrator plays a <ding> sound when trying to move objects
I am attempting to move a vector object from one side to the next using my mouse. While selected, I attempt to move the object with my mouse and I am hearing a "ding" (as if there is a message pop up) and nothing. The object will not move (The layer is not locked), and there is no error message. The object will only move with the keyboard keys. Please help! I recently upgraded to CC2018.

Had the same problem - not sure how the **** this happened, but I did the following:
Got to EDIT > Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display...
Now make sure that " Object Selection By Path Only" in NOT selected.
Don't know how it turned on on its own - but it did. Drove me mad for almost an hour, and now I have a little note next to my computer for the next time this happens - it's not the first time!

Same issue - thought my computer had lost it. I can select anything unless i scroll down in my layers panel and click the box on the side. Nothing in my artboard/working space responds to my mouse. Plz help Adobe.
People pay a lot to use these programs and shouldn't have to deal with programs constantly faulting and effecting their work.
Is there a way I can restore it to an earlier version so I can actually get work done?? -

Same problem over here as well. The program was running just fine. All of a sudden I couldn't move any object anymore, no click and drag, but nothing else was affected. No layer, image or object locked. Has anyone found the key to fixing this bug? / Running CC2018
Thanks
