Dragging Objects with Shift key hold down broken
After updating to Version 24.2 dragging objects with the Shift Key hold down does not work anymore. Instead of aligning the Object it forces it to stay in place. The same bug appears while doing "Alt-Drag" together with the Shift Key. This is a essential function in Illustrator an I think a lot of people use it every day. I will step back to the last version until this is fixed... Surprisingly this occurs only on one of our two Macs...
I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 25.3.1 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!
The issue still persists even in V25.4.1. Really bad for workflows requiring pixel-perfect accuracy. Adobe please fix this
I am still having this problem with 25.4.1. Disabling Transform Tools in Smart Guides preferences helps resolve the problem, but checking it continues to disallow moving the point or points when shift-dragging.

Shift+drag continues to be erratic here. Enabling/disabling Transform Tools does not appear to be a reliable fix. Same shift+drag issue seems to be plaguing Photoshop as well.
Illustrator 25.3.1, Big Sur 11.5
Edit: May be worth noting that the erratic behavior consistently manifests itself during option+drag copy actions
Dear admin, I wonder this bug occur in different Mac OS?
I have one Mac illustrator fixed, but one still not fixed (25.3.1)
The bug still occur in OS Big Sur 11.4
Still not fixed 25.2.3
@jan - I've had the 'Transform Tools' check box (in Preferences / Smart Guides) turned off all this time to avoid this bug. Your comment actually reminded me about this issue so this morning, I've turned 'Transform Tools' back on and so far, it looks like it's working correctly now (version 25.2.1).
Hi there, I wonder this problem is still happen in the latest version V25.2.1
This function is so important. I nearly use this everyday.
And this bug was reported in Jun 2020, but after 9 months still not got fixed?
I can't believe that.
Shift-dragging individual anchor points is still broken in today's 25.0 release, see the attached video.
What's worse, now I can't even roll back to 24.1.3 where it still worked. The CC desktop app only offers me 25.0 and 24.3.
I also have this, and several other issues since "upgrading" the other day. These problems are making my work go PAINFULLY SLOW. Please figure it out and let me know ASAP! Thanks!
Shift-dragging individual anchor points is still broken in 24.3.
Can confirm that dragging whole objects is fixed in 24.2.3, but not individual anchor points. Rolling back to 24.1.3 again...

The issue seems resolved when dragging whole objects, but not when dragging single points.

Still not fixed in 24.2.3... hope it gets fixed soon
I use this ALL OF THE TIME and it's a major pain in the a$$ that the latest version of Ai has broken this function. Every update to Illustrator is counterproductive these days. The answer always seems to be to turn off a function/preference rather than fixing the core of the problem. Stop breaking Illustrator Adobe.

Having the same problem with the upgrade illustrator 2020 I hold the shift element cannot move an object in a straight line
Same issue here, unticking transform tools makes it more like it was.
Well, it's not that bad, only affects thousands of paid users, who cares…
Downgrade and wait for Adobe to have a little time.

It's definitely not fixed in the 24.2.1 update :-(
Any word on when the fix for this will be released?
Incredible that this bug on such an everyday function has been missed…
