1. Preview checkbox in swatch options does not enable the first time it is checked

   The 'Preview' checkbox in the swatch options does not work the first time it is enabled. Steps to replicate:

   1. Create an object and apply a swatch to it.
   2. With the object selected, double-click the swatch to open the swatch options.
   3. If the 'Preview' checkbox is ticked, untick it, close the options window and then open it again.
   4. Tick the 'Preview' checkbox
   5. Adjust the swatch using the colour sliders

   Result: the object does not change on canvas to reflect the swatch definition while the window is open
   Expected result: the object changes on canvas to reflect the swatch definition

   Unticking 'Preview' and then ticking it again restores the expected behaviour.

2. Color guide options reset to default on Illustrator restart

   3. Open Color Guide Options from Color Guide panel -> customize Steps and/or Variation value -> close and open Illustrator

3. Opening Harmony Rules in the Color Guide crashes AI 27.2

   Lately when opening the color guide and clicking on any of the non default harmony rules instantly crashes Illustrator with a segfault. This is happening on several AI files. I am on macOS 13.1 and AI 27.2 on an intel mac. I have attached the crash report from macOS.

4. The name "Black" is automatically blocked when creating global swatches

   If you create a new global color swatch, regardless of the breakdown, the name "Black" is automatically blocked. The name "White" is not.

   It seems silly to call this issue out, but I've prepared logo libraries for eight and a half years now, and this has been an ongoing consideration. When I create a black swatch, there is always an extra step. Sometimes I intentionally misspell the name to create the swatch, or I create a non-global swatch with the correct name, but in both scenarios I have to adjust the swatch AFTER it is created to produce a black global swatch with the name "Black." The same extra step is not required for a white global swatch with the name "White."

   A comparison of my workflow below—

   Black Global Swatch:
   1. Remove all swatches from the file
   2. In the Color palette, click the 'Black' color shortcut
   3. In the Swatches palette, either click the 'New Swatch' shortcut at the bottom or select "New Swatch..." from the menu
   4. In the New Swatch dialog box, change the default name (depending on color mode, either "R=0 G=0 B=0" or "C=0 M=0 Y=0 K=100") to "Black"
   5. Check the 'Global' checkbox
   6. Select "OK"
   7. No swatch appears in the Swatches palette

   White Global Swatch:
   1. Remove all swatches from the file
   2. In the Color palette, click the 'White' color shortcut
   3. In the Swatches palette, either click the 'New Swatch' shortcut at the bottom or select "New Swatch..." from the menu

5. Saving to Creative Cloud is Changing My Patterns

   This has to do with repeating patterns. I'm using Adobe Illustrator 2021, desktop.
   Attached is a picture of 2 circles on a background (shield your eyes, it isn't pretty :-)). When I make the pattern - in this case, the circles were drawn with the blob brush - the inside of the 2 circles is empty and we can all see the background. It's a ring. When I pull that pattern out of swatches, however, it will color in that background. In this one, it's black. It changes depending on the pattern and the colors I'm using. And it is not consistent. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't, and sometimes it happens to just some motifs in a design and not others.
   After countless tries to figure out what it is, it does appear to be that patterns saved to Adobe's Creative Cloud will have this happen, whereas if I save it to my computer, it will not. Thank you for the help!

6. cannot delete or merge duplicate colors

   My Swatches palette has multiple colors of the same name and formula. When I try to merge them, they don't merge.

7. Eyedropper making everything white

   When I select a shape and try to use the eyedropper tool to make it the same color as another shape it turns white. All of my layers are unlocked and visible so I am not sure what it going on.

8. Color Nightmares in 2021 version!! Nothing matches or stays the same!

   Colors are NOT staying the same between HEX values and RGB settings in Illustrator 2021. WE are having a major shitstorm here on this as we are finalizing a Brand Manual and NOTHING is matching of staying the same when we reopen the file. HELP!!!!

   And some RGB colors are showing up as BLACK in the color sliders when they are NOT black at all!

   I just updated my CC and now my text will not change to white, it remains black. The text will change to any other color, just not white.

10. Color Picker Selects White Instead of Black

    Very bizarre problem:

    1. I will create a new object using the pen tool.
    2. I select the Stroke Color icon and choose black for a border color.
    3. Illustrator will invariably select white instead of black. I will have to go back to the color picker and select black again for it to stick. Really irritating.

12. Eyedropper tool to show color values on hover like Photoshop does

    Please can you make the eyedropper work how Photoshop does so that when you hover the tool over your artwork, it shows the color values of what is under the cursor in the Info panel. You can get the info by clicking but would be really useful with gradients to see what that specific value is rather than it picking up the gradient when you click.

13. BUG: pdf with CMYK JPEG is inverted when opened in Illustrator

    Tested on Mac OS 10.14.6 with Adobe Illustrator 23.0.4

    METHOD
    open a PDF that contains a CMYK JPEG image in Illustrator
    (This PDF was created by converting a CMYK JPEG file to PDF in Acrobat DC Pro 2019)

    RESULT
    image is shown inverted in illustrator (same issue opened in Photoshop as "image").
    Opening in Photoshop as "page" it looks ok, but this cannot be selected in Illustrator.

    PDF and original JPEG are attached.

    EXPECTED
    visually the same as input file, no inverted image

14. eyedropper tool doens't pick up properties

    The eyedropper tool used to be able to pick up properties from one vector to another. for example when there is a vector shape with a border and a gradient and what to copy the same properties (same border and gradient) on to a different vector shape. Tried using shift, or double clicking on the eyedropper tool to look at the eyedropper options.

15. STRANGE BUG: gradient tool affects appearance of other objects!

    Problem Description:
    Gradient tool affect appearance of other objects. When using the gradient tool on a shape, other objects with added appearance (e.g. gaussian blur) will reload.

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Create lots of shapes and add gaussian blur to them.
    2. Crate a new shape and add a gradient.
    3. Use the gradient tool to adjust the gradient.

    Actual Result:
    Appearance (gaussian blur) of the shapes start reloading.

    Expected Result:
    Change of gradient. No loading of appearance of other objects.

16. Illustrator is changing around my CMYK values in saved swatches

    Illustrator is changing around my CMYK values in saved swatches... For example. I punch in the CMYK values for PMS 427... and hit save... Then when I bring up the file it is completely different values

18. Global colours don't seem to be preserved in freeform gradients

    I have complex files that are made up of multiple gradients to create a 3D effect. Some of the gradients are linear and some are freeform. I am currently in the process of creating artwork files for both print and digital. To create the digital files I am converting all the files to RGB. There is a specific brand colour that has a different RGB make up than the standard conversion. I thought, no problem, I'll just update the global colour swatch and it should cascade through. But it doesn't! It does on the linear gradients, but not on the freeform gradients. In fact despite going through and linking all the points to specific global swatches, once I save the file, close it and reopen it again, or copy the elements into another file, the freeform gradients seem to completely forget the global swatches. As you can imagine this is very frustrating and currently doubling my workload!

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

19. Can't drag a color swatch onto a gradient color stop

    I used to be able to drag a color swatch onto the color stops on the gradient slider, replacing the existing colors on the slider. Now, in Illustrator 2019, the vast majority of the time it only adds the color swatch as an additional stop instead of replacing it. So the gradient will go from 2 stops to 3 despite me only wanting to replace one of the 2 colors in it. I can just drag the extra stop off of it to work around this, but it’s just another little thing that slows me down.

20. GPU performance color

    Illustrator CC 2019
    Mojave 10.14.1

    Bright RGB red/pink appearing correctly in swatch, but washed out when filling a shape with same colour on artboard.

    Only way I've found to fix this is to turn off GPU performance and the colour then appears bright and correct, but with GPU off live drawing is very laggy.

    Any fix for this??
