There is a script by Sergey Osokin that does exactly this:
https://ais.sergosokin.ru/path/rescale/
Don’t mind the article is in Russian, the script is international. -

This is something I know nothing about, and searching finds nothing too.
I afraid it’s very niche.
If you fail to contact the author, try other solutions, there are plenty of them (scripts, plugins). Maybe something could suite you even better. An error occurred while saving the comment Egor Chistyakov commented
Margie, what script you are referring to?
Have you tried to ask the author of it about changes? -

My pleasure :)

You can kind of do it, if you enable 'Select and Unlock object on Canvas' option in Preferences, Selection & Anchor Display section.
Also, you can right click on the spot that has your locked object, choose Unlock and then this item by its name, without enabling that option. -

Elizabeth, please provide a package of a project (only related parts) that has this problem, including fonts and share it here or email directly at sharewithai@adobe.com with the link to this page.
This would help the team to figure it out. -

Gal, the images! It seems you forgot to add them, or that the UV ate them.

James, you can do it in the latest release — Preferences, General: Zoom with the Mouse wheel.
Yep, this took them that much to add this. -

Well, I know this. I reported this. I have learnt that it is most probably is because of GDI handles leak, and is broken at Microsoft’s side (according to Adobe’s engineers).
There is a way to track this, though. Install GDIView and check Ai’s handles from time to time. When (and if) it’s close to 10000 — save, close Ai and open it back.
Please let me know if the values goes up for you, because this is garbage I am willing to get fixed.
Thank you for the report.
