It's about two years later and I still really want this switch, I still swear every time I make a blend and then have to either eyeball making my own spine, or undo, close one path, make the blend, and re-edit that path.

There is no true PDF Export in Illustrator, because Illustrator allows to have editable PDFs with .ai-content stored within. Other apps does not allow that, and some users heavily rely on editable PDFs.

Attemps to solve this were made, but there is no clear solution so far. Still we hope to find one.

The intended way to get a PDF (without loosing your data) at the moment would be to use Save a Copy command that saves a separate copy of your file to PDF instead of Save As which keeps a saved file open.

I've been having this problem too. Just spent a half hour swearing at it today.

I find that SOMETIMES it will save. Sometimes. If I just move stuff around it will usually save, for instance; ungrouping stuff that was grouped when I made the pattern will result in crash-on-save, so will changing the name.

Saving from the menu instead of the shortcut does not make any difference.

Doing file>save as... instead of file>save will also result in an instant crash, with nothing changing in the filesystem.

I've attached a file that's nothing but a pattern that's ready to crash, with some text in the document on how to quickly reproduce this.

Ah, I found it: I'd recently installed the Magic Picker plugin. Removing that fixed it.

I guess I should try going back up to 24.0.3 and see if it solves the 'sometimes hangs when opening up a document from disc' problems I've been having. :)

Seriously, just copy over the Photoshop motion blur effect. And maybe some of the other blur effects in PS's effects>blur gallery menu while you're at it?

    yes please

If I had a nickel for every time I saw a new user asking "how do I get a halftone" on various forums I would not have to worry about paying my rent for a few years.

I draw comics, and use Graphic Styles to keep my characters consistent across panels and pages.

A simple character might involve a half dozen styles. A complicated character can involve a lot more - see the attached screenshot.

Add in a good chunk of Graphic Styles for recurring background elements and I'm constantly dealing with triple-digit number of entries in the Graphic Styles palette. Finding the set of styles I want to use becomes an increasingly tedious process as pages get more complicated.

I would like to be able to create folders of Graphic Styles, which I can open and close in a similar fashion to opening and closing layers.

Being able to nest them would be nice; in the attached screenshot I have styles for two variants of a character's vehicle, with their own subsets of styles for drawing them at different sizes. Being able to nest all of these into "KIRT MECH" would be great for when I'm working on a page involving three giant robots fighting.

I would also really really love it if these folders were preserved when pulling styles out of a style library, or when copying art to another file.

Basically I have been using a LOT OF Graphic Styles to make some pretty complicated artwork, and I am finding myself direly in need of a way to fold away the parts of the complexity I'm not thinking about at the moment.

Oh and also it would be nice if entering/exiting an Opacity Mask could be recorded in actions.

In CC 2019 (latest update 23.0.1), at 100% Zoom 1inch artwork would display at 1inch in physical (Print) size, on any display. If this doesn’t work right for screen design workflows, please use the checkbox Preferences > General > Display Print Size at 100% Zoom, to turn off the feature. Currently this feature works only on primary display, and there are plans of extending this to other attached displays.

    Yes. So much yes.

Ideally, IMHO, it would ask the OS what the screen PPI is every time I did view>100%, and work based off of that. I regularly switch between my laptop's "Retina" screen and an old 94ppi 24" external screen.

please also include a switch to hide these locks for people whose workflow involves locking a bunch of stuff and don't need to suddenly have half their illustration festooned with little lock icons :)
