    I am on Windows 10 with a i7 8th generation.
    My monitor is a Dell 27"at 5K.
And my graphic card is a Nvidia GTX-1060 with 6Mb Vram.
I have set a document 2 feet side, with a big text and three squares covering more than half of the artboard, items set to overprint and uplicated about 5 times each. Also have tried scaling all up, including the aartboard, 10x with the same result:
Under 2 seconds to preview. Zooming up/down entering Outline view and going back to Preview overprint takes less than 2 seconds.
I think the graphic card is the main or only player here.
If you use Overprint mode on a 4k or 5k display you need a lot of processing on the graphic chip.
Nvidia seems to have shown a better behaviour with Adobe apps.

The same shortcuts that work in Photoshop are used with modifiers for Arranging objects

Yesterday I got into a real world situation where the current limit severely compromise a project. I received some aerial photos for a nationwide GIS project, i have merged just a couple of those (.tif) pictures in PS, but their size is higher than 5 mts side. I wish I could trace 2 or 3 combined pictures for tracing and get e.g the detailed borderline of lakes, swamps, that require a flat representation without reflections of light or waves.

Need More Info  ·  Yogesh Sharma responded

Please share your thoughts on the following:

    1. Would it make sense to have a separate desktop app, just to create charts, and bring them inside Illustrator or InDesign? It may not be on cloud.

    2. Or would you rather have us work on building it within Illustrator?

    Thanks
    Yogesh

At least the graph tool need to fully revamped. It lacks a lot of basic features and is not very stable. I get several crashes doing simple things. I think it should not be very hard.
For a more full featured and advanced graph/chart set of tools, I would not mind it is developed as Dimension, a separate application that can be integrated with Ai and ID. It may take shorter to build up, and many people do not use or need this kind of tool.
I understand not in cloud means data is not stored or handled though cloud libraries?

It is not as straightforward as it may sound :) We have been working to take advantage of threads and other hardware such as GPU/Video RAM in places where it can make a higher impact. We are prioritizing areas that are slow instead of making a generic change and destabilizing the product. Product stability is the top priority for us and we have been consistently trying to improve it. We want to move with caution and make changes without compromising on the quality. Hope this helps.
