Layer Assigned Color Changing Post Update
Hello, After the update (August 12, 2025?) my Adobe Illustrator template layers change to black after saving a new project. I have built a template with many layers and assigned a color to each layer. After the update, when I open the template and save it as a new project, or simply update the template and save it, all layers that had an assigned color change to black. Is this a bug or an issue on my end?
Details of your operating system: Windows 11 Home
The version of Adobe Illustrator (desktop): 29.7.1
The steps you were taking when you experienced the issues: Opened template. Started working on project. "Saved as" (.ai). Opened again. Layer colors changed.
Your expected result and the actual result: Layers assigned color did not change.

Angela, the team would need the actual template file you are having the problem with (is it an .ait file?)

Also — can you reproduce this in a template created from scratch?
Does it happen in a previous build or in Beta? (I realize it’d be too much hustle to try, but perhaps you can test this)
Are any other non-template files get affected by this?
